Definitely a 5 star event. Nique(and the rest of the Unilocal staffers) did a great job with this one. To be honest, we figured we would pop-in to this pop-up, buy 1 or two things, grab a few free goodies and head on out. 90 minutes later we were still there. It clearly exceeded our expectations. Walking in we stopped at the second table we saw — selling notebooks made from old textbooks — a perfect gift for the niece that is a 2nd grade teacher. Also picked up a star nightlight from the same vendor for the grand-daughter(yes, believe it Unilocalers, I am now a grandfather). We must have stopped at every otehr table, if not more. We truly believe in supporting local business. This is a great event for bringing them together to make itmore convenient for them to reach the people and more convenient for the people to buy from them. In the day of impersonal internet purchasing, it is great to actually meet the people and in turn it makes you almost more compelled to spend money with them when you realize how nice and genuine they are. In all we purchased from 12 – 14 vendors. These included: — Sugar knife — Chocolatier Blue — HeySP — Sarah Palmer — Ther-a-py — Jocelyn B — SimplyPearLee — Union Jam — ModCloth - .Liz — dalingd. ear and others whose names I can’t remember. And the upstairs room gave us the nourishment(beer, cookies) to keep on shopping, as well as a couple of FUC’ing santa hats, and some great giftwrap and ribbons for those gifts. For those who know me, you know I hate shopping. But this king of shopping I can endure any day.

Weekend of shopping local in the Bay Area. Attend Bizarre Bazaar in SF yesterday and Unilocal’s Nifty under $ 50 this afternoon. The selection was different at each event but I had a lot of fun at both events. I stumbled upon this event as I was looking for something fun to do with when I went to visit my sister in Berkeley over the weekend. This was an awesome event and I loved the variety of vendors. We all had a lot of fun in the Love Lounge! While checking in got you access to the local love lounge, making a purchase did the same. I really liked the Three Trees vendor selling flavored non dairy milk products made from almonds, pistachios, and cashews flavored with stuff such as coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, and Chai. Wow! Had to buy some! Awesome event in Berkeley. Loved the variety of vendors and had a lot of fun in the Love Lounge! Free cookies, coffee, tea, etc and Snap Yourself!
