This is my favorite sandwich place! The employees are so nice and welcoming, and they remember you! They even know my usual order now. :) And the sandwiches are delicious! Especially with dutch crunch, always get the dutch crunch.

Decent sandwiches for a cheap price. I almost always get a turkey and cheese sandwich on Dutch Crunch, which costs about $ 5.50 after tax. Sometimes the ingredients aren’t very fresh, but the fact that this is one of the cheapest places to eat on Euclid makes up for that. The line can go out the door between noon and 2:00. I usually go at an odd time to avoid the wait, but it usually still takes a while because they make the food a bit slowly.

I went here, nearly everyday, my entire last year at Cal. During the lunch rush there is a line out the door for a reason, but it moves fast! Inside the freshest and cheapest sandwiches and salads await you! My go to was the Normal Neds which is LOADED with avocado… They even made me like sour cream. The staff is super friendly and will remember your order once you inevitably become a regular. I’m sad to have graduated. Enjoy!

I come here way too many times a week. As an engineering student, it’s so conveniently close to my classes, and it’s cheap and healthy! I always see professors and grad students here, too — it’s popular among everyone at UC Berkeley. \\ FOOD/DRINK QUALITY: Love their sandwiches. Reasonably priced and it fills you up in a healthy way. I always get Farrah’s(turkey & avocado), and I love it. I also usually opt for their soup of the day(they rotate weekly, and I think everyone who comes here regularly knows what soup they’re serving before coming in). I love their chicken noodle and clam chowder the most. They also have super soft cookies that I try to resist but usually don’t. Some lesser known items include their super cheap potato salad(pretty good). I generally order a sandwich and some sort of side, and that’s more than enough for a lunch. \\ SERVICE: They move fast and they’re nice! It’s very friendly and they recognize their regulars, which is sweet. My friend once rushed in right before closing and begged them to make a sandwich for her, and they laughingly obliged and joked with her about it when she came back the next day. They also participate in Touchdown Mondays and certain holiday discounts, which is super nice. \\ ENVIRONMENT: There’s always a line during lunch hour, but it’s not too slow. There’s some seating if you want to eat there, but it seems like a lot of people get it to go, since I’ve never had trouble finding somewhere to sit. \\ TIPS: Get the soup with your sandwich — there’s various discounts listed on the board! Also, make sure you’re aware of Touchdown Monday and when they have discounts(I usually just find out by word of mouth).

If it weren’t for their soup, I probably wouldn’t come here, but their soup is FANTASTIC. They have a rotating soup schedule, one that I pretty much memorized. Very affordable for the standard college student, and you can skip straight to the front of the usually packed line if you just want soup. — Cream of Broccoli is packed to the brim with broccoli so I definitely feel pretty healthy despite whatever else is in the creamy broth. Mondays are always a good day with a bowl of soup in hand. — Chicken Noodle — literally so good. If anything, it has too many ingredients and not enough broth but everything about it is wonderful. — Clam Chowder — all my friends love it and swear by it and have clam chowder dates but I think I don’t think I like clam chowder anymore(not because of this place.) The sandwiches are decent, I’ve definitely had better.

Took my sister to this small little place in North Berkeley. I’m always looking for a good new favorite sandwich place that wont break the bank. To me, a sandwich joint is judged based on their hot pastrami. Anybody can make a turkey sandwich. I was really impressed! Not the biggest sandwich in the world but the half sandwich was enough to hold me over till dinner. Perfect portions for a second lunch or if you’re wanting to cut down on the lunch time calories. I’ll be back.

After five years at Berkeley, this place is my go-to lunch spot on Northside and arguably my favorite restaurant. The folks behind the counter are super nice and friendly, as well as efficient. The place definitely has a family feel; you’ll feel like you’re at home. Seriously, everything on their menu is really good… and healthy!!! I’ve never really been much of a fan of soup, but their Euclid’s Split Pea soup is something else… It’s super hearty and will fill you right up with heart-warming goodness. Default Meal(I get 90% of the time): Jock’s Avocado Spread on soft sour roll with Turkey and Swiss — No mayo, spicy mustard, and everything on it. Add a bowl of split pea soup. Secondary: Same as above, except replace the Jock’s with an Egg Salad on White. If I’m feeling adventurous: Anything else on the menu. I really recommend coming here, it’s almost an oasis amid the chaos of Berkeley. Plus, they do Touchdown Monday discounts =).

Although they are known for their sandwiches, I keep coming back for their salads. For the price, the salad they give you is huge, and it comes with a healthy helping of everything: huge avocado slices, lots of your choice of cheese, tons of cucumbers, lettuce, etc. It’s super good. Inside, there is a lot of space yet feels cozy. The only downside is the long lines at lunch, but if you go at off-peak hours, you can expect fast service. If you’re looking for a top-notch salad, I recommend The Stuffed Inn.

Stuffed Inn is really popular with the Berkeley Engineering Department. After all, it’s located just steps from the computer science and mechanical engineering buildings. As a computer science student, I was no exception to this rule. Throughout college, I came here at least one or two times a month. Though the line gets really long at lunchtime, the service is fast, and the staff are really friendly. The family that runs Stuffed Inn recognized my friends and me, always greeted us with a smile, and even had some of our orders memorized. The sandwiches are fresh and delicious and reasonably-priced. I hear the salads are good too, but I never got around to ordering one because I was so satisfied with the sandwiches. Some highlights: — Corn Chowder Wednesdays: If you’re there on a Wednesday, get the corn chowder. It’s amazing. — Dutch Crunch Bread: Always order your sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread. Your sandwich will be crunchy and delicious.(Don’t get it if you’ve recently had some kind of teeth procedure and can’t chew well. Or if you’re health conscious. Then go with the whole wheat.) — Turkey Avocado Sandwich: A lighter, very«Californian» sandwich. Several of my friends’ «go-to» sandwich. — Pastrami and Cheddar: A heavier sandwich for those who like flavorful meats and cheeses. Ask for this toasted. — Veggie Melt: What to get when you feel guilty for not eating enough vegetables. It’s surprisingly delicious. Melted cheese over mushrooms, broccoli, sprouts, and cucumber. — Egg Salad: What to get when you don’t feel like eating meat, but also don’t really want a ton of vegetables. Goes really well with the whole wheat. Tastes like your childhood egg salad sandwich. — Cookie: For when you want to treat yourself. It’s pretty big so split it with a friend. Finally, no visit to Stuffed Inn is complete without that moment of making awkward eye contact with your computer science professor at another table. Can’t say I didn’t warn you: this place is really popular with the engineering department!

Solid little hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop on Euclid. The lunch rush is usually pretty crazy, but service is quick and no-nonsense. I have a soft spot for the turkey & avocado sandwich on a sweet French roll; their dutch crunch and onion rolls also hit the spot. Considering I basically live in Cory/Stanley this semester, I’ll be here a lot more frequently than my stomach and wallet really need.

The best, and fastest sandwiches you’ll find around Euclid. Try to avoid the noontime after-class rush, but otherwise there’s very little wait. Maybe their ingredients aren’t straight-from-the-farm fresh, but they do put together very tasty sandwiches. And if you’re a fan of avocado — you must try their turkey and avocado. It’s simply incredible.

Why didn’t the teddy bear want dessert… Because he was stuffed! Where do Cal Bears go to get sandwiches… Stuffed Inn! Okay those were kind of unrelated, but you get the idea. Besides, I bet all decent punny things about Stuffed Inn have been said already in previous reviews. I guess my story is a little bit different though, from the typical love-at-first-site that most people experience when they discover this hole-in-the-wall. [TAKE1] I first knew about Stuffed Inn from a fundraiser during my freshman year, which pushed me to trek beyond my GBC comfort zone and into the Forbidden Forest of northside. Since the soup offered was the split pea soup that had received glowing Unilocal reviews, I went for it but was underwhelmed. It was noticeably more homemade than the gross pre-packaged soups at the dining commons, but I much preferred the bold, brazen, vegetable-laden soups of SF Soup Co. I think I also got a peanut butter cookie, but it was not memorable and my roommate makes enough cookies to fill my cookie quota. While I did admire the cozy, rustic ambiance, I didn’t find myself coming back because all the sandwiches on the menu seemed to be vaguely similar permutations of the same ingredients, with different whimsical names. However nothing screamed out, and although northside gradually became far less dark and mysterious, I never found myself in the area and craving a sandwich.(For one thing, Urban Turban was always my first-line therapy for cravings while at northside) [TAKE2] Right before graduation, Stuffed Inn catered sandwiches for lunch at a symposium I attended. I got this amazing sandwich with avocado, and omg it was literally the best free lunch sandwich I ever had. It was so amazing that I was ecstatic to be able to take home leftovers and have the exact same thing for dinner that night. To this day I still have no clue what sandwich it was, nor could I explain what was so amazing about it. It’s unfortunate that I’m not at Berkeley anymore, but at least I can pass down the words of wisdom(bites of wisdom?) to current Bears. [TIPS] To make up for my lack of usefulness in recommending a sandwich: — They do fundraisers! Great for student orgs; you get a % of their profits for certain days. — They do catering! You can order massive quantities, and they are pretty helpful and package sandwiches in boxes. Vegan and vegetarian options available for the scarce but persistent numbers with these requests at any big event you plan.

I can’t emphasize enough how amazing this place is. Located conveniently on Euclid Ave by the northeast side of campus, Stuffed Inn is a small and cozy sandwich shop that often has a long line going out the door. Fortunately, since most people order to-go, there’s enough space so that you can always find a seat during lunchtime. The workers at the counter are so great, too! Everyone is friendly and helpful(even when I give a very complicated sandwich order). There’s also a kindly older gentleman who cleans up the tables, so you don’t need to bus your dishes. Almost every time I come here, I get the Farrah’s(turkey & avocado) sandwich with a chocolate-chip cookie and a bowl of soup. If you’re like me and have a tiny stomach… I recommend the half-half option. I was having the hardest time deciding one time whether to get my sandwich for-here or to-go, and one of the workers there kindly offered to wrap half of the sandwich and leave the other half unwrapped! Mind blown. The cookies here are so soft, chewy, and light — almost like cake! As for soups, they have split pea and tomato soup each day, along with another«soup of the day». My favorite days are Tuesdays and Fridays, when they serve clam chowder. They also make their own large croutons, which are a little harder than I prefer, but once you let them sit in your soup for a few minutes they soften up perfectly. **TIP**: There’s always a super long line during lunchtime on weekdays. Use the OrderAhead app to order to-go online and cut the line! Then just drop by and pick up your lunch. So, so convenient. I come here all the time for the easy atmosphere, the happy workers, and the delicious(and reasonably priced!) food. Even after I move out of Berkeley, I’m definitely coming back here whenever I visit.

This place is really close to my lab, so I come here for lunch every once in a while. The have a good variety of hot and cold sandwich options and soups, and their vegetables are always fresh and tasty. There are two reasons why I’m only giving this place three stars though: 1. I like dark rye bread, but maybe one out of three times I go there, they are out of it. I feel like if you have something as an option on the menu, you should have it. 2. Depending on who makes your sandwich, you might not get what you want. I like to have absolutely all of the ingredients on their list of possible vegetables on my sandwich. For some employees, «everything» means everything, but for some I don’t get pepperoncinis and/or jalapenos and/or sprouts. Because it is so busy during lunch, and they are working on several sandwiches at once, it is difficult to communicate to them that by «everything», I want everything. The sandwiches are tasty and the prices are reasonable, but the inconsistencies are annoying.

|| B A C K G R O U N D || Hot damn, this place wins over any hoagie or cheesesteak that Northside has to offer. The food is fresh, service is fast, and the prices are competitive. And the sandwiches all have names! There are two doors: the one on the left is the entrance, and the one on the right is the exit from the dining area. You walk in past the Stuffed Inn Express, which has pre-made sandwiches. There is a counter to your left that is piled with fruit, and that’s where you start. After staring at their large green menu(but be quick!), place your order to the man or woman behind the counter. They’ll whip up your sandwich in a few minutes, and you walk down the counter to the cash register to pay. You can add a bowl of soup to your sandwich or salad for $ 2.25. If you’re opting for a bowl of soup, you pay for the soup first. Behind you, there will be a small counter with three pots of soup and some ceramic bowls for your use. Ladle yourself a bowl of soup, sprinkle on some homemade croutons, and head to your right to the eating area. Their eating area has 8 or so table, with 3 booths lining the side wall. The atmosphere is calming and laidback, with sunlight trickling in and pseudo shrubbery lining the walls. Most people order food to go, so it doesn’t get too crowded. My sandwich was made in 1.5 minutes, no joke. My friend’s sandwich took about 4 minutes, since his was being toasted. TOASTED. Menu: Sandwich customization: || F O O D || TURKEY&AVOCADO(Farrah’s): [$ 5.25] — I chose the onion roll, and boy was I glad I did! The onion roll is akin to an onion bagel sans the hole in the middle. The bread was soft and chewy, and the subtle onion bits on top were great! — This sandwich is STUFFED with avocado! The avocado is mushed to the texture of guac, and it oozes out of your sandwich with each bite. The avocado isn’t flavored much, but I always get avocado to add that smooth texture to my meal. Seriously, I’ve been saturating my diet with avocado! — Large leaves of lettuce and tomato slices. I would have liked some more turkey though. But the turkey wasn’t too salty as a deli meat, so that was appreciated c: — Got me some sprouts in my sammich. With the avocado, it was a good addition. Mmm mmm healthy. PASTRAMI&CHEESE(Ali): [$ 5] — My friend chose the whole wheat bread, which is like your regular sandwich bread. But the smart boy got it TOASTED. And since he chose provolone as his cheese to pair with the pastrami, ITWASINGENIOUS. There was enough melted cheese to completely smother the huge mound of pastrami in his sandwich, and with his few pieces of lettuce and tomato, it was a great, tasty sandwich. — So much yummy pastrami! So much yummy cheese! — I’m coming back to eat this one!!! CLAMCHOWDER: [$ 2.25 with purchase of a sandwich] — At first I thought it might be free refills, but my friend said it costs either $ 1.25 or $ 1.50 for another bowl. Boo: c — I liked their soup, as it was very creamy and not as chunky as canned soup. It seemed like it had a hint of cream of corn to it though. There were some generous chunks of clam too. — My friend said the soup was a bit too toned down in flavor, but that may have been because his pastrami & provolone sandwich was a kick to the taste buds in comparison to the soup. Then he said he liked Progresso clam chowder better, and I gave him this face: –___– — Their homemade croutons are nice and unflavored, and they absorb soup at just the right rate to give it a slightly soggy/crunchy edge: P || C L O S U R E || The only competitor to the Stuffed Inn’s sandwiches is the Hot Pastrami at Northside Café. But the prices here cannot be beat, and neither can the quality of the ingredients. With the perfect balance of bread, meat, cheese, veggies, and love, Stuffed Inn comes out as the top contender of Northside eateries for me. I highly recommend the pastrami and cheese(aka Ali) with provolone, and mix it up with an onion roll! Ask for it TOASTED too!
