Line took me 45 minutes today. Pizzas good, but not worth the time. Update: went in again today and they gave me the wrong pizza! Service has been getting worse and worse

Pieology: the study of delicious. «I wish New York had pizza like this!» said my little cousin FROM New York. That’s not something I expect to hear from a New Yorker. Granted, I’m sure he hasn’t tried the quality pizzerias around New York, but it’s still funny to hear. Many people compare Pieology to Chipotle, but I think Pieology makes better pizzas than Chipotle makes burritos. The ingredients taste fresh, and the selection caters to many eaters. My favorite part is actually the thin and crispy flatbread. Everyone has their own preferences about pizza, and thin flatbread may not be everyone’s favorite. Nonetheless, Pieology boasts a large selection of ingredients and offers relatively good quality for its prices. If you want quality on a budget, then you can never go wrong with Pieology.

Yummiest pizza in Berkeley… totally worth it :) Usually pretty quick, and always get friendly service too. Nice for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.

Service was incredibly slow. We were at the front of the line with nobody ahead of us and it took us at least 15 min to get from the start(pizza crust) to us sitting down. The people putting ingredients onto the pizza just took such a long time sprinkling everything and then moving to the next ingredient. I would list maybe 3 items and then he would put on the first and then forget the other two I said so I had to literally say one ingredient, wait for him to put it on and then say the next. And every time he took at least a good 30s — 1 min to sprinkle everything on. Finally when I got to the cashier, she asked my friend and I to wait because she was sorting something out and we waited for 5+ min to pay. Thought this was supposed to be a quick grab and go, in and out kind of place but it took way longer than I expected. 1 star for the pizza tasting good and 1 more star for my favorite BBQ afterbake but geez, if I’m ever in a rush, this is definitely NOT the place to go.

I love pieology but this location is not the best. The bad: –The guy at the first station(dough and sauce) was good and fast but the toppings people were very slow in putting the toppings on.(Like putting two broccoli pieces at a time slow… I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he is new…) –They didn’t have anymore cilantro or tomatoes and it was only 5:00pm! –They need to clean their oven because we got a lot of burnt residue on the bottom of our pizza that we would have to dust off before eating or else we would get a chalking burnt taste. Blegh. After doing so it was tasty though, especially with the pesto on the side. The good: – for $ 8 plus tax, you can get very full with their unlimited toppings – there are PLENTY of seats.

Woohoo! Once again here! I hoped that last time was some kind of mistake and it wont happen again… I was so wrong… once again they lost my pizza. Omg it not even funny anymore. I waited in huge line for 40 minutes just to make order and now i have to wait another 30 minutes to get it. Unbelievable. Like how hard is it to keep orders in line? Seems pretty simple task, but apparently not for this place. They gave me coupons for free piza which is kind of nice, but still i need to think if i have a time to get it lol

I absolutely love the concept of Pieology! The ability to build your own pizza is great for picky eaters, and the fact that the pizza is large enough to last two meals is a huge bonus. Also, the«dessert» pizza — the cinnamon sticks with icing — is pretty magical. They become impossible to eat when they’re cold though, so make sure to scarf them down when they’re still piping hot. The only problem I have with Pieology is that the pizzas seem to be getting smaller, and there’s a lack of consistency with the way the pizzas cooked. Sometimes I’m given pizzas that are quite soggy, and a bit sad to eat.

The food here is so good, but the service not so much. Service is almost always really slowww. And on more than one occasion, one of my friends or I have received pizzas without the afterbakes we ordered and/or with some toppings we didn’t order. For example, my last pizza came with some pepperoni on one piece which I did not order as I am a vegetarian. Food/ambiance: 5 stars but –1 star for consistently slow service and –1 star for occasionally somehow managing to mess up orders

Went on a saturday night for a group dinner meeting. The wait was not fun at all. It probably took 40mins + in line just to order. The workers are really kind and the taste is great, but definitely come when it’s less crowded and busy!

Pretty darn good. I came here today with my son around 5:15 for an early dinner. The staff asked if this was our first time in(coming straight to the cashier first must have given us away as noobs), and guided us towards the ordering area. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The guy who helped us even helped me select ingredients for my gargantuan vegetarian monstrosity of a pizza. The pizza was good – fresh and obviously to taste since you create your own. However, it was not amazing, so I can’t give it 5 stars. The flavors were all good, but there was no one flavor in the crust, sauces, or ingredients that made me say, damn, that just blew my mind. My son was happy with his pizza, but agreed that we’d had better elsewhere. Also, the pizzas are VERY reasonably priced. It’s not every day that I get away, given my somewhat expensive taste, with buying dinner for my son and I, with drinks, for less than $ 20. Nonetheless, my son and I will probably be back.

If you like being unique and choosing your own pizza toppings, this is the place for you! Here you will find 11.5″ custom-made pizzas with UNLIMITEDTOPPINGSOFYOURCHOICE for $ 8.65! What a deal! Go and choose ALL the toppings available! Just kidding… not really. But seriously, go crazy and get as many toppings as your heart desires! Just like Blaze, this is the pizza version of Subway. The toppings are not too extreme(like anchovies). The available toppings mesh quite well together. To give an idea, here are a few that my family and I created: –original pizza(as opposed to wheat), red sauce, olive oil, mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan, bacon bits, chicken, black olives, mushrooms, pineapple, garlic, cilantro, grape tomatoes, and spinach –original pizza with BBQ and red sauce, herb butter, ricotta, mozzarella, pineapple, ham, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, and basil –original pizza, red sauce, olive oil, mozzarella, pepperoni, meatballs, banana peppers, grape tomatoes, ham, bacon bits, red onions, chicken, mushrooms, and roasted red peppers Don’t be shy about toppings either! If you want more, ask for more! Initially, the guys behind the counter barely put any sauce or toppings on my pizza, at least not to my standards. I simply asked them to pile on more, and they were more than happy to do so! In fact, they are super encouraging when you go crazy with adding toppings! Price is alright considering how many toppings you can add. Depending on the pizza you build, it can taste pretty darn amazing. One pizza is enough for 1 – 2 people. The crust is thinner than I prefer, but otherwise, my pizza was awesome and the service was awesome. Fair amount of seating available, and fairly clean place in general.

I used to love coming to Pieology as a student in the Berkeley area! For ~$ 8 a pizza I can have lunch and then take the rest of the pizza home in one of their many to go containers. However, compared to other build-your-own pizza places it falls a bit short. The crust on the pizza is very crunchy(not my taste) and sometimes the toppings can get watery. Their topping variety is okay, nothing special. At times, the line can also get extremely long. Don’t walk in expecting amazing pizza, but rather a really cool customizable experience.

Pieology Pizzeria is one of many build ur own pizzerias out there. or u can order an house pizza. clueless about building my own, i ordered a menu option. eats: rustic veggie on wheat crust(8.65) –house red sauce with all kinds of veggies, add on veggies no extra charge. –side of sauce given, got 3 cheeses. –didn’t eat right away, distracted by a waffle. pizza not so crispy later. *not good for take out, must eat right away. crumbs: –service very personable, friendly 4ish stars –food an uncertainty

Spacious, appropriate and convenient to bring big groups. Cheap build your own pizza for $ 9.47. Friendly staff and despite how busy it can get pizza comes out at a timely manner. Thin crust, unlimited toppings, it calls for my belly. My go to spot for pizza. Only bad thing is that ingredients slide right off. Also recommend the cinnamon strips.

It’s like the Chipotle/Subway for pizza. Except there’s a much wider variety of ingredients to choose from. Some of the more interesting selections include herb butter, ricotta cheese, artichoke hearts, basil, minced garlic, and bacon bits. Create-your-own thin crust pizza for $ 8.95. Not too shabby. Caution if you are vegetarian: the employees don’t seem to change gloves between placing meat and vegetables on pizzas. Also, some of the meat bins are located next to non-meat bins, and they sometimes spill little pieces of meat into the non-meat bins. Needless to say, this place isn’t super vegetarian-friendly.

I love fast casual chains. Nothing beats convenient and affordable. The set up is very much like chipotle or subway. You pick unlimited sauces, toppings, and after bakes, all for one low price. Unfortunately, this means that you get undergrads loading up their pizza with every single topping possible and a huge line out the door. Hey, I get it. You want to get your moneys worth. And who doesn’t like pepperoni, chicken, ham, sausage, bacon pizzas? I recommend that you don’t get greedy. The best pizzas have 4 – 5 toppings max. You also guarantee that the pizza bakes evenly when it’s not weighed down by 5 lbs of raw veggies.
