Dr. Joan Lovett utilizes EMDR therapy to provide wonderful results for her patients. The therapy really does feel nothing short of miraculous. I brought my almost ten-​year-​old son to see Joan after an unfortunate event triggered anxiety that was interfering with his ability to function normally and happily on a daily basis. He wanted help feeling better and she provided it with simple and fast results. I recently mentioned her to a psychiatrist I met through work and he responded that although he didn’t know her personally, she was an early proponent of EMDR and that his colleagues recommended her highly.

Dr. Lovett is a miracle worker. My five-​year old son and I went to her to address his nightmares and she had wonderful techniques for helping him sooth himself which really worked. In addition, we uncovered that he is very sensitive to media images and that my anger and yelling were contributing to his nightmares. Dr. Lovett worked with both of us at the same time for a while, helping us work better together. Then, without judgment, she offered to work with me alone on my anger issues. Using EMDR, she was able to take me to the source of my anger and transform negative feelings to positive. My destructive knee-​jerk reactions became less and less frequent and then stopped. I was no longer triggered by family members the way I had been for years. My emotion and reaction to these triggers were truly transformed. This therapy really works for children and adults alike and works quickly. Dr. Lovett is a gentle, understanding, caring practitioner who is really invested in helping people live more positive lives and lives less controlled by negative emotion.
