Extremely solid Mexican food and burritos. I especially enjoyed their Fajitas and Fajita burritos(pro tip: order easy salsa to avoid a mess)

Hook: Cheap Mexican food. La Burrita is one of the best examples of «You pay for what you get for.» It’s cheap, it’s fast, and it’s nothing special. You can get a burrito and chips for as low as $ 6 if you choose the small, non-guac/sour cream, but it’ll just be rice, beans,(a bit of) cheese, and your choice of meat. Or you can pay upwards of $ 8 — 10 after tax and get one of their«deluxe» burritos, such as a California burrito(a normal burrito but with fries inside). Again, following a similar theme, even the deluxe options aren’t anything special in terms of taste but are just good enough that you’d want to come back again. Overall, La Burrita beats out Poncho’s, but very clearly loses to both Chipotle and Gordo Taqueria. As others have mentioned, this is also a quite popular late-night option.

I stop in here for lunch a fair amount and really enjoy the burritos. I haven’t had many items on the menu yet, but I will definitely keep coming back for my lunchtime burrito fix. I usually get a carne asada burrito and have no complaints yet. The portion sizes are pretty big too! I also appreciate their quick service, especially since my lunch time is usually limited.

California Burrito, that’s all I have to say. Unfortunately, I’ve never tried Socal Cali Bs, but La Burrita’s California Burrito is pretty tasty, which keeps me coming back for those late night munchies! Also, I am a huge fan of their salsa bar, especially the lighter red/orange one in the back row. I usually get 4 containers of those to eat with my burrito and the chips they give you. Yum! I’m probably a bigger fan of their salsa than their food.

It might seem silly that I’m reviewing a casual dining spot I frequented when I was an undergrad at CAL15 years ago, but I must, especially since the owner still remembers me! This place is awesome. Their salsa bar is excellent — they have a green salsa that is incredibly spicy. I usually get the burrito with grilled chicken(my husband prefers the shredded chicken) and I’m never disappointed. I’m convinced it’s their tortillas and beans. Every time we’re in Berkeley, we make sure to grab a burrito for dinner. Soooo worth it!

This place is not bad, but it’s middling ranking is largely attributable to the fact that it is in Berkeley — a culinary mecca of all things cheap & delicious. Things I like: Decent Enchiladas and the Salsa Bar is Nice Things I dislike: Why are their mixed vegetables(e.g. peas, cauliflowers) in my vegetarian burritos?

I had the urge for some authentic Mexican food today after a long day at work. A friend and I dropped by here to grab some burritos. I’ve been here a couple times before when I attended Cal, so I ordered a California burrito and horchata. The food came very fast and was super good. The burrito(not the healthiest of options, but hey sue me) was hit and fresh. They came with a side of chips as well that were warm and crispy. The horchata could have been a little more sweet, but wasn’t half bad either. The burrito was very fulfilling and definitely has cemented itself as a great spot to grab some Mexican food while close to the university!

This place is owned by the same person who owns D’yar Mediterranean and La Val’s PIzza. D’yar is by far the best; La Burrita is mediocre. I’ve only been here once, and I don’t plan to go back soon because the simple bean-and-cheese burrito I ordered was not tasty. The cheese tasted cheap, and the beans were not soft. The burrito as a whole had very little flavor.

My mom makes such delicious Mexican food, therefore my judgment is pretty harsh every time I walk into a Mexican food place. But wow this place won my heart over ! Absolutely amazing food and the tastiest aguas frescas!!! The burrito I got was perfect for me because it wasn’t to messy or greasy like it is in most places. It tasted fresh and the Asada meat was so juicy and good. The salsas were also amazing, they have quite the variety. I personally really enjoyed the salsa verde for my chips. As for the agua frescas; I tried the Jamaica, Horchata, and I mixed the mango and fresa. All of them were very delicious probably the best ones I’ve had, not watered down like in most places. You really get the real taste with these aguas. The staff: Friendly and helpful, what more can you ask for! They made me and my friend feel so welcome here! I definitely plan on returning any time that I’m in Berkeley, and I recommend it to anyone who’s in the mood for that good authentic Mexican food. –Val 8÷5÷15

Burritos are good. But there«agua’s frescas» are even better. Nothing much else to say.

Burritos are pretty delicious, though they’re a little on the small side for the price. Flavorful/savory carne asada and chicken, from what I’ve tasted. They’re often open pretty late(11pm, 7 nights a week), deliver(for a charge and minimum $ order) and, in my experience, have very friendly staff. The location on Durant is the location I have most frequented and, though it has a small interior(roughly 5 small tables), it also has a back patio area with more tables, to enjoy during non-rainy/cold weather. This particular location is heavily trafficked by UC Berkeley students. There is a restroom for customers. Salsa and lime/radish/jalepeño bar w/to-go ramekins

Hands down my favorite Mexican place in Berkeley. Their super nachos are crazy good… as are their burritos. Fast service, good prices, and BOMB salsa bar.

As someone who is Mexican, not only was I disappointed in the food, I was MORE disappointed in their service. The men speak in a vulgar manner amongst one another and I’ve overheard them a couple of times gossiping about the customers in Spanish(since most customers are Asian or White). I’m very disappointed to see this in a business. I also had one instance where I ordered chicken quesadilla and super nachos. I know I clearly order chicken quesadillas. Then I was handed a burrito, and I went back to claim my quesadillas. Since I had paid with card, I signed the receipt BUT the paper you sign doesn’t even have your order on it so it’s not like you can check if your order is right. I looked at the cashier, and just as he thought I was going to complain again, I handed him the burrito and took my card out and said, «I want chicken quesadillas and go ahead and charge me again». I was obviously a little mean but at this point I was just upset.

I’m a simple guy: I like burgers, pizza, and burritos. These are my core foods and if I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll get some sushi with my bride to be. I’ve been coming to La Burrita for almost six years now. I could probably fill the back of a pickup truck with the amount of burritos I’ve consumed. Since college, I’ve tried many other burrito joints but at the end of the day, La Burrita is my absolute all time favorite! I will forever be a loyal customer. :D

Good burrito for a quick eat. Not the best ever, but pretty good. Too much sour cream and guac was a little too liquidy. Chips not salty enough. Overall ok.

Five small tables in the front, a few out back, place a little worn around the edges, service polite but rote. Standard range of Mexican items, including salads which were the draw for me today. I tried the taco salad with shredded beef, it came with chopped romaine lettuce, cheese, sour cream guacamole, pico de gallo, all atop a layer of chips. Actually a pretty good size salad for $ 6.95, and the shredded beef was really good, had been simmered along time with onions and peppers and was really tender and flavorful. Made me want to come back and try the shredded beef or shredded chicken in other items.

I mean… as a gal from SoCal always missing more Authentic tasting Mexican food. La Burrita is NOT one of them. But it’s decent, especially after a night of partying lol! The wet burrito is worth it and everything usually tastes pretty good. My main gripe is that they almost always get my order wrong! I was starting to feel I was being too needy, adding/replacing a few items and that ended up in the mix up. Tonight I ordered a Veggie Supreme, which I was pretty sure included Guac, sour cream… the works better than the average burrito. I came home and ended up with a plain bean and cheese. Thanks for charging me more for something so plain that I didn’t want! Side note: I feel like the later you come in, the less quality control there is. Everyone’s probably drunk, who cares right?

If you party at all frequently in Berkeley, you’re bound to end up here once or twice late at night. Right across from Asian Ghetto and close to campus, can’t complain about the location. A bit of a trek from Frat Row but if you got the munchies, it’s worth the walk. Menu options are standard here: burritos, tacos, wet, etc. They give you free chips too! In all honestly, it’s hard to give this place an objective rating since I rarely went here sober, but the greasy cheese and beans and salsa and meat always tasted like heaven when I dined here. My biggest detractor: I once bit into my gooey burrito expecting the usual goodness but I almost cracked my jawline when I bit into a freaking rock. No kidding, there was a decent sized pebble in my La Burrita. I was at loss for words on how this could possible happen. Did they drop their bag of veggies on the ground or something? La Burrita, your Quality Assurance team needs some work.

I love this place! Food here is soo cheap and it includes chips as well! There’s always a line here, especially after 11pm. This place I also the best for drunchies. If you’re not sure what to order, the carne asada burrito is highly recommended. I also appreciate the salsa bar, which no other place nearby has. The mango fresco is also very refreshing(only $ 2).
