Bad service and bad food. Ordered the chicken tikka lunch special, described as boneless pieces of chicken marinated in yogurt, garlic, spices, etc and what I got was some kind of dry rolled up ground chicken with no sauce, a huge portion of rice and a little pile of lettuce. When I questioned the server about the menu language in comparison to the food I got, she was completely uninterested. When I told her it was terrible(in response to her question re whether I liked it) she was equally uninterested. Yikes. Haven’t had service that bad/indifferent in a long time. The samosas were good, but the rest of the garbage experience overwhelmed that momentary pleasure. Never again!

Amazing veggie korma and saag paneer. Great neighborhood Indian spot.

The service of this restaurant is worse. We found a hair in garlic naan and after telling to server they don’t seem to give a shit about it. Food is below average taste as compared to other restaurant. Don’t waste your money going this place.

first time trying it after moving here from SF a few months ago. worst indian food in the bay. ordered thru door dash, and the food was old and dry. sauces terrible. kabobs gross. chicken tikka terrible. Chicago korma barely average. even the rice looked old. wont’ ever order it again. If there was a ½ star, I’d give it that. Especially for a $ 60 order. I“ll never get that meal back.

Was impressed with all the choices and flavors. The place is dark, so bring a small flashlight. Also, something smelled awful when I walked in… little did I know I stepped in dog shit before entering. Nothing like cleaning your shoe off before eating. Either way, I ordered the fish curry and lamb boti. Both were excellent and full of flavor. I will surely go back and for sure, watch my step on College Ave.

I was so excited to see a four star Unilocal rated Indian place open in the middle of the day close to an appointment that I had, so we raced over to order the veggie masala(very gingery); the chana masala; and the saag aloo(very creamy). All of the food was okay, nothing was bad, but nothing was great. The tap water tasted like water pipes. I would go here again if in the area, but I would not go out of my way to eat here.

Service isn’t the top priority at this establishment, its sort’a like college cafeteria you know, self service, but food is priced reasonably and quality is good. Not out of this world, not super excellent, but good. If you’re in this neighborhood and hungry and don’t want to drive around town for a bite, this place will do. Parking is a bit dicy as its on a pretty popular strip. Beware, food here is SPICY!

My girl and I have eaten here many times and service was always ok. The cuisine quality more than compensated which kept us on the return patronage. Tonight on the other hand was a total abomination, we were greeted and seated in normal fashion. We were never addressed after that, we observed another two top sit down and given water before the staff ever came back to us sitting for twenty minutes. This will be our last visitation to a once anticipated meal.

I hate to give this place such a low review… Because it used to be quite fantastic… Been there several times, albeit over a year ago. We came in on a Saturday night, place not too crowded… Got seated right away and then… Nothing. Nobody acknowledged us for almost 30 minutes. When another couple came in and they immediately got water served to them, while we were still sitting there with nothing, we decided to leave very disappointed. I actually went back inside to comment to the waitress what had happened, and she didn’t look like she could have cared less… Time to find a new Indian place… Can’t attest to whether their food is as good as it used to be… Sorry.

Food was very good, only Indian place I’ve been where they give you enough naan, and really good naan. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Plus that have a pretty good selection of Indian beers.

The food is super inconsistent. Some days it’s 4 stars some days it’s 1. So, it gets one star. The portions are on the smaller and pricier side. Todaysl’s dish was super salty but of course no refills on the soda. All in all, i xome here because it’s on my walk home, not because it’s good.

Consistently excellent, fresh, flavorful food. great menu, reasonably priced and good sized portions. My favorite North Indian restaurant in the East Bay. Comfortable, nicely decorated dining room and prompt delivery if needed. If you like spicy, the medium is probably plenty spicy for most people — try that before ordering hot ;) So happy to have Flavors of India close by!

Super oily! I got my food to go and the oil was spilling from the cartons all over the bag. I had to transfer the food into my home containers because there was oil everywhere. Was pretty gross. The food itself was decent, but I’ve had better.

The quality has gone downhill, and I just checked the menu and they raised their prices. It’s a real shame, I used to love this place. Now you never know if the same dish will be good or bad on any given night. All the old negative or lukewarm reviews complained about the already high price for what it is and now they’ve raised it even higher! Unbelievable.

We ordered garlic naan which had small pieces of GRAVEL in it. Nearly broke a tooth. We had served this to our kids and we’re very lucky they were not injured. We phoned the restaurant’s manager who explained it’s from their old oven. She did not even apologize for the injury she might have caused. Instead she offered a free order of naan for NEXT time we order. No thanks, I prefer not to to eat pebbles. We will not be coming back.

Spicy lamb biryani and raita are the way to go! Being an Indian, I would actually vouch for these people– *note: i rarely(&, i really do mean rarely) vouch bc 1. I cook Indian food 2. My mom makes some of the best Indian food ergo I sweat Indian food :-) Their naan is pretty fresh and the chef is Punjabi– so its a pretty sweet, delicious deal, my friends… Curry now!

I have been getting take out from this place for the last few months, because the food is relatively good… but no longer. Last week I was directly deceived and lied to by one of the male staff members in charge of taking phone orders. I ordered a Lamb Korma on the phone, everything sounded fine and came 20 minutes later to pick up my order. There was a nice girl waitress who asked me what I ordered and when I said«Lamb Korma» she looked perplexed and said«you mean Lamb Karahi?» When I explained that I 100% ordered Lamb Korma, she asked the guy who took my order, and he says«It’s a Lamb Korma, but the computer only allows selecting Lamb Karahi». I was reassured I was receiving a Lamb Korma after all, payed, and drove home. When I came home and opened the food, I immediately knew I was given Lamb Karahi, not Lamb Korma. I’ve ordered Lamb Korma from this restaurant many times, and Lamb Karahi once in the past(which I didn’t enjoy), and so I knew exactly what these two dishes look, taste, and smell like. I was angry so I decided to call the restaurant to complain, and the guy picks up the phone. I tell him he gave me Lamb Karahi instead of Lamb Korma, and he tries to reassure me that«Lamb Karahi IS Lamb Korma». I tell him«No, I’ve ordered Lamb Korma enough times from your restaurant to know that you gave me a different dish. You must have given me a Lamb Karahi that you tried to push through as a Lamb Korma.» He says«yes sir, I am very sorry about this». I thanked him for ruining my dinner and hung up. To the restaurants credit, they really apparently don’t have Lamb Korma available on their menu(only chicken Korma). However, I’ve ordered Lamb Korma countless times, and they’ve always taken my order without a hassle. There is absolutely no excuse for blatantly lying to someone’s face as if they don’t know any better, and attempting to put in an order for a completely different dish just because you’re TOOLAZY to order something that is not«officially» on the menu. If you’re TOOLAZY then just tell me on the phone«sorry, we don’t make this dish, and we cannot accommodate your special request tonight even though it is trivially easy for us to do so». At least I will have the choice not to order from your restaurant and order from one of the 20 other Indian places in Berkeley that are competent enough to make a Lamb Korma.

We came here after a friend suggested us for dinner. The ambience is good. Little candles on the table really makes the ambience nice and warm. We ordered Chicken tikka masala and seekh chicken kabob. The kabob was served first as it being an appetizer. It was half cooked, returned it. Now I was little concerned about the CTM. It was served after couple of minutes and it was delicious. The visit wasn’t wasted and I’ll come back for it. It’s a must try and is pretty good. I am taking out one star coz of seekh kabob.

Better than your durant st-house of curry stuff but not super memorable as compared to heavy hitters like pakwan and shalizar in Fremont/SF. Still those places are far from me and Flavors of India is close so I supposed 4 stars is appropriate.
