My god, the original butterhorns might possible be the best cookies on earth. Stop reading right now and go find them. I’ve bought them at the small Italian shop/deli in the Castro district(A.G. Ferrari Foods) but also at New Leaf markets. They also seem to sell them on their website. Seriously, go find them; buy 6 or 12 packs, send them to friends and family, or better yet, keep them all to yourself. Your only regret will be not trying them before.

The original cookie, the butterhorn, is delicious. It’s flaky like a pastry, moist like a cinnamon roll and dusted in cinnamon and sugar like a churro. You tell me if there is anything wrong with any of those things… Didn’t think so. The cinnamon roll part comes when you pop them in the microwave for a few seconds before popping them in your mouth. The lemon cookie is absolutely fantastic and my boyfriend’s favorite. CiCi told me at a grocery store that they put real lemon juice in the cookie. Imagine that. The anise cookies are my absolute favorite! Reminds me of my childhood and I could literally eat a whole bag. Oh and one more thing, you can actually buy all of the ingredients listed on their label at a grocery store. Nothing that you can’t pronounce and don’t know what the heck it is. Big plus there!

I just went to Filoli for a holiday event and bought their cookies. The lemon ones are so good and I usually don’t eat sweets! The butterhorns are also yummy!

Just introduced another cookie… a Chocolate Butterhorn!!! How good is that I ask my cookie friends who have tasted the original Butterhorn? Needless to say, Christine has out done herself by introducing three new cookies in the course of six months in 2014. All with precision in quality and artisanship. Hand-made cookies that are the way they were made many years ago. I recommend each of her four cookies: the Original Butterhorn, the NEW Chocolate Butterhorn, and the recently released S Cookies with Lemon(my favorite) and Anise icing. With whipped cream, coffee, non-fat Straus Farm frozen yogurt or your favorite ice cream. Or just by themselves with an ice cold glass of milk. I love your cookies Christine…
