Finally! I cannot overstate the breadth of Chris’s knowledge or his innate gift for bodywork. I had a couple years of chronic pain which, while not debilitating, was making me irritable, sad, and lacking in luster or vitality. In search of relief, I saw physical therapists, doctors, chiropractors, trainers, and other CMT’s, but none were able to give me any significant relief, or even to give a diagnosis that rang true. Chris though, has given me a new lease on life, and hope that my body will once again work properly, without pain and with a full range of motion. His work on the table lets me walk out in much better shape than I walked in, and the stretches and exercises he gives me mean I can improve and heal on my own. He combines a very straightforward, science-based approach with some mind/body visualizations(meditations?) that leave the person on the table with some responsibility for the success of the treatment. Basically, you have to be willing to talk, and to listen, to parts of your body that you aren’t necessarily on speaking terms with. Easier said than done, but any sincere effort will pay off. Chris is very easy to be comfortable around, and he takes a real interest in helping his clients. The music is good too — pleasant, unobtrusive Classical — no new age Pan flute muzak! The space is in the Berkeley Acupuncture Project, perfectly comfortable and the staff there is great as well.
