I’ve had a couple of their non-full body massages. They are pretty great and the massages gage how much you can handle. They ask if the level of pressure is good or too hard. The prices are reasonable too. They usually have sales that you can take advantage of.

The prices for massages here are cheaper than what you’d get at any other place, and they’re good, too. I’ve had massages from Cristen, Eva, and Cyrus. Cristen was good, but Cyrus and Eva are definitely better. Cyrus does hot stone treatment as well as regular massage. The hot stones were really nice — the heat really penetrates your muscles, and the result is like a massage and sauna combined. He’s super friendly as well. Eva does medical massage(in her own words), which means she incorporates whatever techniques(Swedish, Shiatsu, reflexology, etc.) she feels is appropriate to treat you. My lower back was all kinds of messed up when I went to her, and it’s been great since.

Quality: 4 Value: 4 Service: 4 Came here for two deep tissue massages, one with Wendy and one with Cyrus, when they were $ 25 for 30 min. Both massages were very good, although I remember the first time better(Wendy) since it was my first massage. I felt really relaxed after both, even though they were only half an hour each. Unfortunately, the massage room is right next to the girl’s locker room(literally the hallway about two steps away from the entrance), so if you’re a guy, you might get some weird looks from girls passing by.

So, I’ve never had a massage. Honestly, I was kinda scared. But necessity is the mother of invention. After craning my neck over sample multiple-choice questions for the past month and a half, the time had come. I saw on the RSF website that they had a special for $ 25⁄30 minutes.(They’re running the special for the rest of Summer 2009.) Though I have no frame of reference, I thought that it was a wonderful, relaxing, non-scary experience. Clean, comforting, and cost-effective. Woot. RSF opened up a new center where they have two therapists working at any given day. Reservations are available online through the RSF website. A massage at your friendly RSF. Who knew.

I have a bit of a curve in my spine and enough stress as to make a good massage more than a luxury, its something that really needs to be well done in order to keep me functioning. The massage service at the UC Berkeley Recreational Sports Facility(RSF) is EXCELLENT and also GREATVALUE. Better yet, its not limited only to students/staff; although if you’re an RSF member you’ll get an amazing price. You can even buy massages in packs of 4, saving even more money(85 minute sessions for $ 60 apiece, can’t beat that!) All of the therapists that have worked on me have been good. More than two thirds of them have been GREAT. They all have a different style so you might want to try a couple of different appointments. The facility itself is buried deep in the Cal student gym, so its not exactly the most tranquil of experiences(especially if they’re playing basketball above the massage room…), but the work is excellent.
