Now that I’ve started my career out in Berkeley and there are so many different shops and places to Unilocal.This was my first stop before my very first interview!
LOCATION:
It’s in a decent location in Berkeley especially for students. Right near the Bart station, as well as small shopping centers like dollar tree, Walgreens, and Fed ex… And others!
FOOD:
I ordered the Bacon cheeseburger came out to $ 12 and it was not all of that at all! Burger was very small, only had one strip of bacon in it and I asked for no onions and still received onions. Leaving all I could think about was «I should’ve went to In N Out.»
SERVICE:
The service was good, if it wasn’t for the service they would’ve received a 2 stars. Both the young ladies were very helpful on being patient and understanding what my concerns were the evening.

Everything is great except the actual burger meat. Tasted and felt like a cheap meat paste. Fries are great and chicken strips are great good buns good drink selection good tvs. Also they are open later than everything else nearby.

Curly fries are not bad, but at least from a vegetarian perspective the veggie burger was a mushy mess that fell apart as I ate it and had a pretty bad texture.

Not good. Ordered a California Burger. Disappointed with the toppings– not fresh. The patty was very thin and had no taste. Service was pretty good and efficient. Won’t return though, def. not worth 11 dollars.

Burger was ok. Fries were terrible. They got our order wrong. The keg of Lagunitas tasted old. $ 30 of meh. Would not recommend.

Honestly probably the grossest salad I have ever had. I ordered the asian chicken salad. It was a sopping mess of a salad. The entire salad was drenched. It was like lettuce soup. I took 2 bites to give it a shot and it was lukewarm. So not only was it unpleasant to look at, I was now concerned with my safety of eating the salad kept at room temperature. I cannot comment on the rest of the menu but if this salad is prepared the same way as everything else, they’re going to get a lot of people sick. I feel bad giving any establishment 1 star, but it was bad, really bad.

My salad was drenched in dressing and absolutely inedible. TV blaring and music playing at the same time — horrible auditory experience.
However, the curly fries were good and my boyfriend enjoyed his burger and shake.

What happened? This place used to put out a decent burger, but today was … How can I say this delicately? … God awful!!! Flavorless, gray hunk of mystery meat on a bun that looked like a fat chick stepped on it. I don’t expect Eureka!, but I don’t see myself staring at that gray mystery meat again.

Had a very bad experience. Ordered the Philly cheese steak. It was very small, the bread was soggy, and the meant tastes really bad!

Angry cashier was just too much for us. Just overly aggressive hosts that treated us like drunk or troublemaking people for some reason though we were pretty polite? Not coming back for a while, the cashier didnt even offer us drinks.

BurgerMeister brings that old diner charm to the modern foodie scene in Berkeley. I think I prefer Johnny Rockets or even Saturn Café as alternatives that have that rustic charm and good food, but BurgerMeister is not too bad.
I had come here for the first time a couple years ago when I was in school, and being a vegetarian at the time, I decided to try the vegan burger, which is soy free, nut free, and of course, meat free. The burger was actually quite tasty from what I remember, and as someone who doesn’t really enjoy burgers, I was tempted to come back for more. However, I had a delayed allergic reaction to something in the patty, which I later found out was peas, something I am terribly allergic to. That was my bad for not checking the ingredients thoroughly, but the experience was enough for me to stay away from BurgerMeister — until this weekend when my family wanted to chow down here before the Cal vs. USC game.
My second time around I decided to try to the fish and chips. First of all the plate was HUGE — I definitely could not finish it by myself, so I would suggest this as a meal for two. When the plate arrived the food didn’t look very appetizing because the fish looked like fish sticks you can buy from the frozen section of any grocery store. Yikes. Fortunately the fish tasted better than it looked but there was too much batter on the fish and the proportion of deep fried batter to fish was off, and it felt very heavy in the stomach. The fries that came with the plate were pretty good, because they were crisp and seasoned well. The coleslaw salad brought a nice acidity to cut down on all the fat from the fish. I really needed to take several bites of the salad in between eating the fish to cut down on the heaviness.
I wasn’t a fan of the fish and chips, so I wouldn’t recommend it. On the plus side, when I checked in here for lunch, I received a 20% off coupon for my entire meal, which is definitely a sweet deal.

The Chief Operations Manager reached out to me personally and provided a complimentary card to enjoy a burger again. I ordered the same burger as last time and this time I got the actual Meisterburger. Very satisfied both with the customer support and the quality of the burger! Only reason I’m not giving five stars is because I still think it’s a bit on the pricey side for what you get.

I’m a big fan of Burger Meister and go at least once every couple of weeks. But I must report the meal I ordered today was far below the quality level I have come to know and love in San Francisco North Beach location. I ordered the ST. Louis Ribs today. And based on all that is holy in the kingdom of barbecue they were an incredible dissatisfaction. First they came cold so obviously had been frozen. Second when I stated they were cold the person at the counter had little or no interest in me just throw these on the fire.
When I got them back one half were warm yet charred. The others still cold I took a pic to show frozen and undercooked. I will never return to this burgermeister and suggest you steer clear.

Had a horrible experience here. The day that I came it was empty. The lady that took my order was a total b… Not only did it take her forever to realize that we were there, but she did not check on us not once. The food was decent and took forever. To top it off, when I got my check, I realized that they accidentally put someone else’s drink on there and when I told her, she still went on and processed my car… WITH the drink charge on there. Every time I say lets just go eat at BurgerMeister, my friend says, «remember that one time…» And then I say, «Oh yeah, let’s go somewhere else.» Only thing good about my trip here was bumping into an old friend.

Awesome people working here that definitely knew a lot about everything they served.
The guy who helped us out let us try a couple different kinds of beer we weren’t familiar with.
The burgers and food taste really fresh and super high quality. And you can just chill and watch a game while you grub down!
Definitely places like this make Berkeley so incredibly awesome

There are options for a side along with a cheeseburger which are french fries, coleslaw, and salad. I order a bleu cheese burger with side of salad with vingerette dressing.
Salad is not salad here really its just dark green and red leaves with dressing, thats it.
Bleu cheeseburger is ok-​ok seem a frozen patty to rush cook it.
Fountain beverages are Pepsi family along with Liptons iced tea and Sobe lifewater. There are few draft of beers choice here.
Self container for Heinz mustard, mayo, and ketchup.
There are few flat screen tv showing ESPN channel. Busy environment with plenty of standard squared one legged tables around

I really like burger meister. I’ve visited another place once a while back in SF. It was memorable. We ordered a 24 piece and barely finished with a side of fries. We just remembered it was really good.
The thing is, our visit here, I felt that the chicken and fries were noticeably pre cooked and just tossed in the oven or deep fryer to be made. More noticeably the chicken looked and tasted precooked. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.
We ordered the 12 piece half bbq and half teriyaki this time with a side of seasoned fries. The teriyaki was my favorite. The bqq was my bfs favorite. The bqq didn’t look appetizing and the taste wasn’t either. Like it was precooked or had been sitting out for the past 5 days. It reminded me of those frozen bags of precooked chicken you buy at the market.
The teriyaki was the better out of the two. Still had the precooked thing going on but still the better.
The best out of the entire dinner was the fries. Very crisp and yummy!
Would I come back again? I’m not entirely sure. The great thing about this place is they have a bunch of tvs and play the game on there. They also offer 3.50 for a bottle of beer.

The first few times I visited BurgerMeister, I was really disappointed by the burgers. The were dry and overpriced. Since then, I’ve been back several times but I’ve tried other menu items. It certainly helps that Unilocal has a check-​in deal for 20% off of your purchase.
The chicken sandwiches on the menu are actually quite good. I like to get the chicken strip sandwich. The red pepper aioli is awesome and the chicken strips are decent. I would definitely recommend getting a side salad as the greens are always fresh and flavorful, while the fries tend to be fairly soggy.
The buffalo wings are outstanding. The wings are thick and juicy, and the sauce is incredibly spicy. I eat spicy foods often, and these are probably the hottest wings I’ve ever had (not counting the Fire-​in-​the-​hole wings from Plucker’s in Austin; you get your picture on the wall of the restaurant for eating five of them). My lips were burning for several minutes after finishing my wings. I would highly recommend ordering them.

Fried eggs on burgers are my weakness… I become powerless to ordering them when I spot them on the menu. Thus I got the lovely Farm Burger with a side of curly fries (curly hair girl always need curly fries).
I pretty much devoured my meal… The fries crispy, the burger juicy, and the company lovely.
My sister and I hit this place up since it was open after got out of a movie up the street late, and they made out lil tummies happy.

As a regular customer, of the BurgerMeister in Alameda, this was my first foray to one at a different location. This restaurant is large with many table choices, including bar type and window counter seating. Also, there is no wait service. You place your order at the counter, find a table, and your order is brought to your table.
We had the ½lb Mushroom Swiss and upgrade the French Fries to curly fries on one order and garlic fries on the other. The burgers were cooked medium as ordered with pickle, tomato, onion, and lettuce on the side. The burgers were good as well as both fries. Actually, felt the burgers here were prepared better than the Alameda location in that the bottom burger bun was not soggy.

So this BurgerMeister is pretty good, if you don’t mind a larger restaurant and that there is no wait service. You bus your tray after you eat, but you do save on paying a tip.
