The savior in the land of Waffle House and Cracker Barrel– a truly divine intervention by Unilocal. Driving through Ohio and Kentucky in route to our destination we needed lunch. Exit after exit rolled by with nothing but waffle house, cracker barrel, and other fast food establishments. Then: GooglePhone and Unilocal. With Janelle W’s review and hunger in our stomachs we set out in search of Anthony. After searching through the nearby town(Berea), we re-read the review — and here is the key piece of information — Anthony is usually behind the BP station just by the freeway. Anthony is a special ed teacher during the week and bbq purveyor on the weekends. Since we’re northerners, true BBQ is a bit foreign to our palates but we sampled the following(The ribs weren’t ready as we were his first customers of the day): Pork Sandwich dry: A bit dry, but the flavor and texture of the pork were excellent. Pork Sandwich wet: The sweet, tangy sauce and smoked pork blended perfectly. Scrumptious– would definitely order it this way every time. Chicken quarter: smoky, moist and flavorful. Delicious. Prices were very reasonable– $ 4 for a sandwich, $ 5 for the chicken. If you are driving through Berea, Kentucky on a weekend, do yourself a favor and see if you can’t find Anthony– it’s worth it!
