I would like to start this review by saying that I have stayed about 50+ nights at Marriot brand hotels this past year. Well this hotel is clean and recently went under a renovation so looks nice. Unfortunately my first room must not of had the air conditioning unit replaced nor the mattresses. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud and vibrating when I finally did fall asleep it woke me up when the cooling cycle kicked in again. I would also like to say that one of the mattress felt old and lumpy. When I was awoken by the air conditioner I couldn’t fall back a sleep. The clerk at the front desk offered another room. Thank goodness there was one available. Being nearly midnight I was reluctant to move both of my young sleeping children to the new room. In the new room the air conditioner was quiet unfortunately it didn’t have a setting that left the canon for the air to continue to circulate. Now that I am annoyed by all this there is a swooshing sound coming from the ceiling of my room. I went back downstairs to talk to the clerk and he assured me that there is nothing electrical in the storage room next door. I believe it must be part of the ventilation system for the rest of the building that I am hearing. I would also like to note that the phone I’m in doesn’t have a phone in it. Well I guess it’s a good thing I have a cell phone. Maybe they took it out so it wouldn’t be ringing down to the front desk about all of the complaints. Well it’s about 1221 am now so hopefully I can fall asleep soon. I have to drive six more hours in the morning ugh. On a brighter note I would like to add that the staff were very friendly.

I haven’t ever left a Unilocal review before, but this one inspired me to start. My family and I checked into 3 rooms here after a show in Renfro Valley, and arrive to find each of our bathrooms INFESTED with gnats. I asked the front desk attendant for a fly swatter, since there were no other vacant rooms. She provided one and discounted the rooms, but it was far from providing the comfort desired, as I got to spend the next 20 minutes working to contain the problem. Her boyfriend, who was there visiting, even recommended I go to the store and buy some items to kill them. Ha, no. I don’t think I’ll be back, and would recommend you avoid as well.

Clean and friendly. Your average Fairfield Inn experience. If you’re a Marriott Rewards member this is the closest you’ll get to Richmond and EKU. Same breakfast as the rest of them with cereal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, and some things you can put in the microwave. Nearest restaurants are a few minutes away in a car. Keep in mind Berea is a «dry» town so if you want a drink either head to a neighboring town or bring something to have in your room. I had a two room«suite» for under $ 100.00 a night. Great deal. Housekeeping does a great job and the room was fresh and clean every evening when I got home from the work I was doing in the area. Work space isn’t bad. Has plenty of outlets and decent light. Internet speed is fair to poor, but better than many places I’ve stayed in much more metropolitan areas. The PC in the lobby is basically useless. It has so many presets and filters on it that it can’t even connect to the internet. If you need to print a boarding pass you’re out of luck. Overall a pleasant experience. I would stay at this place again.

Stopped here on our way down south. Staff was very accommodating and room was nice for the price. Would stay again when in the area.
