This restaurant didn’t impressed us much. Miso soup and edamame though we liked better than in the restaurant across the street, Sakura, but the rolls were not the best, the presentation is poor but the service was not bad. Well we will stop by ones again for hibachi probably, but if you like good rolls it’s not the best place, the quality of the food is more diner like than restaurant.

Love the sushi, love the price! This is our go-to place for sushi. Their spicy asparagus rolls are one of the best I’ve tried. Service is a hit or miss but not terrible.

Sushi was great but the service was very slow and it was not that busy. I recently visited for the first time being referred by a friend and the server was not that friendly. I really rd liked the rolls, just wish I received better service.

Came here today and there was a nasty fish odor that permeated the entire restaurant. I asked one of the servers why it smelled so bad, and he had the balls to tell me that they just got fresh fish in. PROTIP: fresh fish has no smell. I had to walk out. Looks like McDonalds will have to do today.

One of the better sushi places in the Northeast at a great price. When we’re in the mood for sushi, we usually come here and have been coming for the last 4 years. The sushi is always fresh and this place is BYOB which makes it a major plus. Their sashimi pieces are pretty large compared to some of the other sushi places that I’ve been to. If I had to choose one special roll to eat for the rest of my life, the Knight roll would probably be the winner. The bill usually comes to $ 35-$ 40 for 2 people which is still great for sushi. If you’re craving for sushi and you’re in the Northeast, or even if you’re just being a degen at Parx, do yourself a favor and come here.

The first time I dined here, we were seated in the regular section(I believe there were no live hibachi services at the time) but we did order a hibachi meal. The food was amazing! Recently, we were given the option of being seated on the hibachi side versus the dining side. My husband and I chose the hibachi side. It seemed pretty busy so we were not served as rapidly as our first time. The food was made right before us and he put on a mini show for us; the show was nice but not totally impressing and the food, unfortunately, was not as great as it was the first time… nor was the service. Perhaps, more attention is given to meals prepared in the back… perhaps it was just too busy that evening. I seek consistency. Who knows, perhaps we’ll just come here when it’s not so busy and stick to regular dining.

This place used to be a go-to sushi place. Great food, great price, nice servers. I came here mid afternoon on 03/02/2016 and waited 10 minutes without any recognition from staff. We took our complimentary mints and our business elsewhere. UPDATE: remember that time I swore off shogun… well it’s convenient so we came back. And it was good. And fast. And cheap. Anthony got a sashimi lunch which also came with soup and a salad and I ordered miso,(ate half of his salad) and 3 rolls: peanut avocado, summer roll, and salmon tempura. I love sushi!

This is my favorite place to go for sushi. The fish is fresh and the sushi has the right amount rice. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff try their best to take care of you when it’s not a busy night. My favorite specialty roll on their menu is the shogun roll. soo good. I’ve had their hibachi a few times and it’s pretty good. The hibachi chef does a great job entertaining his guests. Oh, did I mention it’s byob?! The only thing I would say is that they need more sushi chefs, especially on a busy night. We all get hangry when waiting over 30 minutes for sushi

Good sushi! We frequent this place often, we’ve never really been disappointed. Today we order house salad. They were very fresh and good. I love their mayo ginger dressing. It’s getting harder to find. Today I ordered Boston roll, shrimp tempura and street roll. My wife ordered the green dragon roll and the spicy crab roll. Service has always been good for us. For a quick lunch we were in and out in 35 minutes. We will be back.

Hibachi specials and half price sushi monday-thursday. Really cool restaurant atmosphere with beautiful décor. Hibachi was pretty yummy, I was a bit surprised at the Paula Deen amounts of butter that our chef used to prepare our food though. The hibachi meals were very large and cheap. I really especially enjoyed when our chef sprayed sake into our mouths from across the table. If I lived nearby, I would probably go here regularly. More for the entertainment than the quality of food though. Fun stuff.

Definitely one of the best Japanese/Sushi places in the area. We love coming here if we are in the area. They have a lot of the simple sushi that are only $ 2-$ 4 per roll! Great deal for fresh sushi. The specialty ones are more expensive and are priced similarly to other places($ 10+). I also love the salmon there and all entrees come with soup and salad. This is the go to nice, casual sushi spot for friends and dates to catch up at. My favorites are the scallop tempura roll and sweet potato rolls!

Always available seating, sushi is delicious. Service varies a lot: last time I went in, the young guy server was awesome. However, sometimes they ignore you OR opposite to that, they pressure you for an order. It’s local and good, though, so I always return.

THEFOOD is FIVESTARQUALITY! And I have been a loyal customer of this place for a while, but recently a bad experience has prompted this negative review. And I just want all customers to beware as I should have been. Long story short… There was a discrepancy in my bill where I was over charged by 25 $, I was in a party of 5 and two others decided to pay with cash. The waiter was instructed to deduct the cash amount first, and put the remainder of the bill on my card. When the waiter came back with the receipts I noticed he charged the entire bill to my card and thought the cash was his tip. A honest mistake so I brought it to the waiters attention and he brought me a new receipt with the correct charge on it. And I asked him to confirm I would not be over charged. He did so… This was this past Saturday… Well low and behold come Monday morning the overcharge amount was on my card and he pocketed the cash for a tip. I am disheartened to say this place has forever lost my business.

The food is good, not spectacular but the wait!!! You have to wait so long for them to give you uncooked food, sashimi is raw fish why do I have to wait 50 minutes for my order??? Don’t come hungry or in a rush, be ready to wait and wait

Shogun was recommended to my dad by an acquaintance, so we decided to try it out. Not impressed. The miso soup wasn’t too bad, not enough tofu in my opinion. The edamame were a bit mushy inside which is usually a sign of them being kept in the refrigerator too long. We got several rolls. One was deep fried and not great. My spicy tuna roll was somewhat bland. The server was very nice but the food was not great. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

This week I went to a family birthday dinner in the hibachi section of the restaurant. They boost a «50% off» deal and boy do you get what you are paying for. The sushi was sub par. I cannot speak for the hibachi dinners, as I was the only one in the group to not have an entrée. The wait staff was extremely unhelpful when it came to dietary questions. Me, being vegan, and having a child in the group with a shellfish/peanut allergy seemed to not concern them, ATALL. They did not know what ingredients contained dairy or fish oil because«they get them from another place», which concerns me with how fresh the food is here. As for the allergy, the chef did not seem worried about any food cross contamination of any sort and cooked the seafood RIGHT next to the food that was to be served to the child in our group with the allergy. I guess this place is good if you want cheap food, but just be aware that the product is also just that, cheap. It is also BYOB, which is cool if you have a DD, since anywhere in the Northeast is far from walking distance.

This is where I go when I want sushi. Close to home, great prices, good food, favorable service. The sushi always comes out on point for me, as well as the seaweed salad. I don’t ever order off the«regular» menu, though I’ve sampled from others who aren’t sushi lovers. That stuff doesn’t really do it for me, so I’ll stick with the sushi! I’ve also never sat at the hibachi station, but I’ve heard great things. I’ve never had issues with the servers or waiting for food. If you’re in the area, give it a go!

I love Shogun. I order take out here every week. I’ve also dined here with friends a few times, and it’s BYOB. I’ve only had their sushi, so I can’t tell you if the hibachi is good or not, but the hibachi area is huge. Their sushi is fresh, fresh, fresh! I eat a ton of sashimi so fresh is extra important if I don’t want to be spend time hugging my toilet bowl. The lunch specials are a great value, especially the bento boxes, and they are all about $ 10. I actually find the portions to be unbelievably huge, which is why I have stuck with Shogun although there are two other sushi places, Sakura and Tako, nearby. On the critical side: There is a $ 10 minimum for credit card charges, which is a pain when I only want the 2 rolls of sushi lunch special that comes with salad and miso soup that is $ 8.50. Also six pieces of shumai is totally not worth $ 4.50. I’m sorry, but you might as well take your tail to H-Mart and get some of the frozen version. This location is also in a strip mall, but so is most of Bensalem.

A few years ago, possibly even around the time this place opened I would have given Shogun 5 Stars. Nowadays after the«Sushi Boom» or whatever you want to call it … It’s 3 stars. Plenty of newer restaurants with better sushi(presentation and flavor) nowadays.(just my opinion) With that being said it’s a byob with good sushi and hibachi … that’s good enough for me. (be sure to also try Ahi and kyoto)
