Good beer, food and service. I had both of the IPAs. I ordered a hamburger which was cooked just as I wanted it. The waiter couldn’t have been more helpful. However, I was even more impressed when we came back at 10PM, after a show at the Oldcaste Theatre and the staff keep the bar on for us as we ordered drinks and food again. We weren’t rushed and again had exceptional service.

Beer is mediocre. They need some innovation in the beer department. Like a real, genuine, hoppy, DIPA. The food is okay, not as good as when they first opened but not terrible. It makes you wonder how much comes in a cryovac bag from Sysco? Still better than most of the Bennington restaurants

Great local brewpub with great atmosphere, service, food and brews. Need I say more? Driving up to Vermont from Maryland all day Friday, rained all day. It’s 9:30 pm when we pull into Bennington and we are beat and hungry. We stop in to Madison’s. Man, what a lift! Super high ceilings, all wood, many elevations, lovely space! I could hang here awhile! It closes at 10PM so it’s winding down on a Friday night. We are seated immediately on a raised stage-like area with a piano. Art on the walls: Marilyn Monroe and the Mona Lisa. Cool! Sounds silly, but restrooms are clean and modern. Someone cares and pays attention! We are non-meat eaters, and the menu has plenty of fish and vegetarian options available. This is so welcome! Alex, our server. Is perfect. He offers quick and enthusiastic recommendations on an IPA(yum!) and fish tacos for entrees(double yum!!). Orders come quickly. Good chips and salsa come with the tacos, fresh and tasty. He checks back, perfect service. Great food. Why can’t all places be just like this? Simple, attractive, delicious, fast. Total bill without tip $ 31 for 2 orders of fish tacos and a beer. Can’t get much better! We have been coming to Vermont for decades and we don’t see a lot of restaurants like this that have the entire package: atmosphere, facility, staff, fresh food prepared well, reasonable prices, location. This is truly value. It’s a gift when a business like Madison Brewing Company puts it all together and customers like me get the experience and deliciousness. And it’s a brewpub to boot… they do really good beers in many styles, just what one would hope for and expect. Wow! Thank you Madison! We shall return definitely!

Solid meal! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The beers were good and interesting. I’d go back if I’m back in Bennington.

Great fun atmosphere. The maple BBQ wings are to die for. It’ll have you licking the plate they came on. Stage for live music.

Menu is labeled with vegetarian options, but very limited on vegan options. Service is a little slow, but the beer is good. I’d rate it higher if there was at least 1 fully vegan entrée on the menu.

So we were hesitant because this place only had 3.5 stars, but after scrolling down past 20 reviews it looked like most low star reviews were from 2014. Anyway, we come to bennington once a year for business and this is our first time at madison. The wings were delicious and really big. Buffalo sauce not too spicy, maple bbq not too bbq-y. We got the Rachel, good quality pastrami. The brewhouse burger was juicy, generous bacon, cooked to perfection(med rare). The service was awesome. We also got a sample of all 8 beers for $ 9. Worth it. The service was great too, we think his name was Owen. He suggested the steak sandwich, burger, fish tacos, and eggplant dish. Bottom line, we loved it.

Awesome place. Have checked off about 1⁄3 of their menu now and all has been great. Food specials even better. Great food and great beer even though I only stick to one of their brews.

I’ve been here a few times and have loved it every time. My favorite meal was the tuna ahi! So perfect. Prices are really fair too. I will definitely keep coming here in the future! Just went back here… man that ahi tuna hits the spot every time. Also, tried the spruce cut pale ale, soooo good.

I still love Madison’s. This is a family owned restaurant and ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible. My hubs and I always love to hang out here when visiting family. The staff is wonderful and personable up at the bar. My favorites are the wings with traditional sauce, buffalo wing salad(no peppers), anything pasta, their French onion soup sans croutons and their pub fries with a side of honey mustard. Locally owned businesses always get my hat tipped to them. This is one. You’ll find Mel or his bros around and they are so friendly. I am so happy to support a wonderful bunch of Bennies!

Happy to say, Madison Brewing Company is a great place to enjoy dinner in Bennington. We were in the area, and, needing a bite to eat, waffled between the Publyk House and Madison Brewing Co. After viewing the menu at Publyk House and determining $ 30+ per plate was a tad too much for us to dole out for a casual dinner, we drove back to MBC. I was prepared for the«usual», washed-and-dried, lackluster«brewhouse» experience. I was pleasantly surprised, instead. Yes, MBC has the traditional tried-and-true pub fare like burgers, wings, fish and chips, but they also have dishes like pork schnitzel, open-faced turkey sandwiches, pot roast, cottage pie, and more. There’s literally a dish for every taste out there. We were greeted, seated, and ordered, all within a very reasonable 10 minute period. Jamie ordered the Brewhouse Burger(cliché, me thinks, $ 11.99), and I opted for the open-faced turkey sandwich, AKA Thanksgiving on a plate($ 9.99). We also asked our waitress for two brews: an Old 76 Strong Ale for Jamie and a Sucker Pond Blonde for myself. His was hearty and very strong, mine light and refreshing. When the food arrived, I have to admit, I was a little jealous of Jamie’s plate. The brioche bun glistened ever so tantalizingly… The Brewhouse Burger, with its smoked cheddar, crisp thick bacon, and brioche bun, is a home-run knockout. It was cooked perfectly to order: medium rare. Jamie, a true burger aficionado, said this is easily the best burger he’s had in New England, and is the 2nd best burger he’s ever had… ever. That’s saying something! He snuck me a little bite and oh! heaven… I think it’s the cheese that really elevates it. The Open-Faced Turkey Sandwich was pretty delicious too, but couldn’t compete with that burger. The cheddar mashed potatoes were good, and the turkey was sliced thick, albeit the edges seemed a bit dry. Our waitress was prompt, present, and very polite. We couldn’t ask for anything more. Spending just about $ 40(pre-tip), Jamie and I had a wonderfully satisfying dinner at MBC and can say with certainty that we will be back again, if for no other reason than hearing the siren song of that Brewhouse Burger… and, perhaps to try the French Onion Soup.

On our way to exploring Vermont and the natural scenic views and foliage, we decided to grab a bite and little did we know this restaurant was quite the hidden gem. The place is quaint and almost everyone seemed too friendly(is that even possible?) We were a party of two and were offered hightops near the bar, bar seats, or a regular table in the main dining area. The bar and the hightops were bustling with people, mind you it was just around 2pm on a weekday. There are not many tables in this small cozy spot and we opted for the full dining experience so we waited approximately 15 minutes for our table. No problem, we said, and the server immediately brought to our attention the specials of the day and raved about the house made root beer. The root beer was glorious and had the perfect amount of spice. We were attracted to one of their daily specials, the maple wings and decided to split it as an appetizer. That was a great choice, sweet and spicy, juicy wings doused in just the right amount of sauce! I had the cottage pie which was similar to shepherd’s pie, with all that mashed potato, minced meat, vegetable, and stew like goodness! The flavors of mushroom, corn, beef, and potato were well represented throughout. My dining partner had the turkey cranberry melt and a side of fries. The turkey was moist and the cranberry sauce served in a little saucer on the side complemented it well. These were lunch entrees and were on the larger end of the spectrum, so leftovers could be easily boxed if you wanted to save some for the next meal! We were offered to peruse the dessert menu but since we made a special trip out into Bennington we decided to explore other lovely options around the area instead. This place is definitely a little gem and we would love to revisit in the future!

We stopped by for a light dinner & a beer & were thoroughly charmed by this Craft Brewery & pub. We sat at the bar & got their calamari appetizer & a couple Irish Red beers that were great. Followed with their Garlic Chicken Soup — perfect! Live music Friday & Saturday nights.

Been back a few times now that we’re living here in town again and against all odds: I have been converted. Who woulda thunk it? Not I, said the fly! Burgers. I just want to eat the burgers. Like every day. I haven’t. But not a day goes by when I don’t think, «I should walk down to Madison’s for lunch and get a beer,» or «I should see if Kris wants to meet for a burger and a beer when he pulls into town.» Staff is hit or meh. All of the service is good, but some staff is friendlier than others. Some seem to be slightly unhappy all of the time. While I get that we all have feelings, there is no way your life is THATBAD. ALLOFTHETIME. Change your iPod to a less emo playlist and slap on a smile. Been working my way through the beers and am seriously enjoying them. I think I only had ONE that had that chlorine-like, phenolic taste. And I wonder if it’s just me. To be fair, I am pretty sure I’m a super faster so I am probably in a small minority of folks who notice this. In addition to burgers I have tried a few entrees and all were great. One suggestion: trivia? Maybe?

What a nice find when you are out tooling about on a Labor Day weekend and want a craft beer and some good pub grub. Arrived shortly after 12 pm, the restaurant was not that busy and there were only two people at the bar but boy did that change quickly, within a matter of 30 minutes the dining room and the bar were full and the line was almost out the door. These folks new what I was about to learn, the beer/ales are well above average with a kitchen to match. Starter: How many of you have been disappointed when ordering a Caesar Salad, wrap that disappointment in a happy dance as Madison Brewing Co. makes a very good Caesar Salad. Lunch: I ordered the $ 9.99 Rachel: New York Plate Pastrami, House made-slaw, Gruyère cheese, Thousand Island dressing on grilled marble rye with crispy fries. Gosh dang walla walla bing bang, first bite told me why the place was full and the line nearly to the sidewalk. Great taste well prepared, nicely presented, cooked to order Pub Grub with an 8 glass flight for only $ 9. Holy bat guano Robin a beer & grub bat-cave, the kind that dreams are made of. So, get your sorry tired a. over here people, so you can do the do that so many do when they are doing the do without you!

We hadn’t planned on stopping in Bennington, however the call of a craft brewery was too strong! This was a nice little respite on our drive to the coast. The bartender was pleasant and knowledgeable. Because we were driving we really appreciated the relatively low ABV beers on the availability of a 12oz pour; sometimes we just don’t want(need) a pint:)

Great beer selection, delicious comfort food, quick and nice service. We bumped in on July 3rd, and there was a two musician live country music concert. We enjoyed very much food and atmosphere. I had a tasty burger with blue cheese, and hand cut french fries. My partner a delicious Wiener schnitzel with veggies and mashed potatoes. Highly suggested if you are in town and would like a nice dinner. No pretentious. 4 beers and two meals for $ 46.

Great local brews. Can’t attest to the food but how can you beat 4 beer samples for 4.50, 9.00 for 8. All tasty! Casual and pleasant atmosphere. Everyone looks like a Brooklyn hipster except these folks are dressed like this for a reason… It’s friggin freezing. Made it back for food! The wings are a must have. Huge, and delicious. The fries and burgers looked good but that’s not my thing.

Good food, great variety, decent prices and friendly waitstaff. I had the pesto Alfredo special with penne pasta — the pasta was incredibly overcooked but the sauce was good. Burgers and drinks were good. Desserts were HUGE. Seems a like a hot spot for locals.

Stopped off here for lunch as we were passing through Bennington. It’s a spacious and airy bar with huge on-street windows, and at the back there’s a copper brewery tun with a huge steaming wooden vat beside it. They didn’t seem to be brewing anything on our visit, but I imagine it’s pretty impressive when things are happening. There is a small upstairs balcony too for when the place gets busy, and I also notices a piano on a raised bit in the rear bar area. All of which gives the impression that this would be a pretty rocking party place of a Friday or Saturday evening. However, it was Wednesday lunchtime and apart from a squad of builders at the bar and some ladies at a window table it was empty. I ordered the veggie burger, and was very pleasantly surprised to find a decent sized burger, topped with hummus and tabbouleh with some alfalfa sprouts for garnish, and a side of salad on the plate. Just delicious, but then this is Vermont, where they’ve just passed a ‘no-GMO’ legislation, so they do know about good healthy food. We didn’t stay long, but for a random choice of lunch venue in a town that we were just passing through, it worked out pretty well.
