Supercuts

I went in for a trim. The girl asked me if I was sure I didn’t want a cut. I politely said no, I get my major cuts somewhere else and just come here for trims. Apparently this offended her because she grabbed a chunk of my hair and cut it off, shoved a mirror at me and said «there, if you want me to do anything else, it’s a cut». I stared in disbelief for a few seconds before she chimed in again with «if you want me to fix that you have to pay me for a cut». HOLY CRAP?!? WHO DOES THAT!!!

This place overcharges like crazy and doesn’t even give you what you want! I asked about how much they charge for ombré and balayage and showed Terry what I wanted and she said she can give me exactly what the picture looks like but it came out the complete opposite. She said it looked even better than the picture but I didn’t think so. She sold herself saying that ombré/​balayage is easy to do and she has been doing it for 10 years and she explained to me everything in the picture that I wanted, so I thought okay she knows her stuff then. UH Wrong! I was pissed when it came out. She started telling me things that are wrong with the style that I wanted and it wouldn’t look good on me when she previous had said that it would look really good on me. I had her tone it down and it helped a bit but it wasn’t what I wanted at all. She ended up giving me a discount which is nice but that doesn’t make up for not giving me what I wanted. Lesson learned only go to salons.

I love this place. All the workers are nice specially ELENA. I always ask for her. Shes so kind and know what style is good. I did my hair color today. My hair was so complicated because I always change color of my hair. She did a fantastic job coloring my hair and styling it. I highly recommend her. I will be coming back again

Andrea left this dingy place. This place has gone downhill. Many of the best stylists leave. No wonder it is now empty. Awful manager must have hired her nephew for the day since she was short staff. They didn’t honor our coupons and her nephew cut 3 inches off my hair when I implicitly said a small trim. He was a jerk about it as well. The manager wasn’t follow instructions. She cut my sons’s hair unevenly. Reading the other review THEY DON’T LISTEN!!! Very inept!!! Andrea left and is working elsewhere in Benicia. Supercuts should close this location down!

Horrible experience not the cut I wanted super short layer on top went back to try and get it fixed and was told that it was a good cut. No it wasn’t !!! Couldn’t be fixed or my hair would be even shorter never going back.

I am very happy with my experience at Supercuts in Benicia. Many of the recent reviews are awful which is why I wanted to be sure and share my experience. I checked in online and had only a 5 minute wait even though I was a good 20 mins earlier than my estimated check in time. The lady that cut my hair was very friendly and helpful. I have VERY thick frizzy hair and in the past most stylist comment on how much longer it takes to deal with my hair. She did not. She took a good 10 mins to wash and massage my scalp. I asked her to cut an inch off and she suggested an inch and a half to be sure to get all the dead ends. I left with a very nice healthy hair cut and I am super happy! And all for only $ 26!!!

Teresita was great! My long hair was drab and she brought it back to life with a few snips! She was easy to talk to and understood exactly what I wanted. This was my first time to this Supercuts and I was very happy with the service.

Yeah, it is a Supercuts, so you can’t really have high expectations, but this place is exceptionally bad! Every time I have been there it just seems gross & dirty. The stylists just don’t seem to have a clue… I have always asked for a very simple cut (a «trim,» really) with no fancy layering or anything, and it always ends up several inches shorter than requested, and is uneven! I should have walked out the last time, when the stylist kept stopping to text on her phone, and then a group of people walked in (appeared to be some relatives) & she left to talk to them for 10 or 15 minutes while I sat there like a dope. What a rude experience– I certainly won’t be back.

Andrea left, she is no longer with supercuts, she moved to The Courtyard on first St. Glad she stayed in Benicia! !!

Have gotten several great haircuts here! Andrea is the BEST! Go! You won’t be disappointed!

I would give them ZERO stars if I could… absolutely horrible and overpriced… my 15 yo got a color and cut and the total was $ 249…yep you read it right! After me arguing that I have never in my 47 years paid that much for a color/​cut she responded that my daughter has a lot of hair?! Well so do I and I just had color/​cut/​keratin treatment for $ 140 at a salon in Lafayette. I was soooo upset that they took $ 40 off… see photo of the receipt!

I have been pleasantly surprised by how good my hair turns out when I come to this Supercuts. I’ve had some awful experiences at other locations, but every stylist here who has cut my hair did a good job. I’m a woman with short hair that is mostly straight with a few cowlicks that will stick up if cut too short. I’ve never gotten «square head» (where the back of my ahead looks flat rather than rounded in profile) or «Alfalfa hair» here.
When I know exactly what I want, the stylists go along with my plan. If/​when they think something else might be better, they make a suggestion and then go with what I decide on. When I am not sure the best course of action (like how to best control the mullet when I decide to grow my hair out), they have a variety of solutions to offer.
I never make an appointment. If they are busy, just hang around until someone is free. It has never been longer than 15 – 20 minutes wait. The prices are pretty standard. All in all, a decent place for a haircut.
I happen to dig the minty shampoo, hot face towel, and mini massage. It’s pretty awesome to have that and a cut for $ 25.
[Why not five stars? Silly reason… five stars would be reserved for a place I know of that caters to queer folks (I’m queer), serves complimentary beer or coffee, and has the same price range for cuts. But that place is in Oakland, and I don’t have time to make special trips just for hair care.]

The prices for the haircuts are high and you can’t check in online like some of the other places. The price for the products are high also, I believe you can get a better haircut at a mom and pops barbershop!

They just lost my business. Been twice before in four months.
I drove in at 1pm and asked for Andrea. She was not due in until 2pm. I scheduled a 2pm appointment with Andrea and drove home. Came back at exactly 2pm and entered as Andrea was placing a haircut bib around a gentleman in her barber chair.
With raised eyebrows, I said, I have a 2pm appointment with Andrea. The reply was «Well, so did he. And he got here first. We can get to you in a bot 20 minutes.»
Huh?
What is the point of miking an appointment if they don’t honor it? Not one person I spoke to apologized fro the mix-​up, rather, treated i like this is how the do it there.
There is no point in going back.

I have given this place so many chances. But this was the straw that broke the camels back. I am not even an avid Unilocaler, but this experience was so horrible I had to say something publicly. Let’s start at the beginning. I walk in and get seated in my chair, noticing I have «product» in my hair she asks if I would like to wash it out before I get my cut. I said that is fine. I sit down at the wash station expecting to get my hair rinsed and then then handed a towel and head back for my cut. She asks me if I want a hot towel for my face to relax, I said no thank you just a hair wash please. Instead she puts some shampoo in my hair that causes a minty cold sensation on my scalp, almost burning sensation l, and begins to massage my head neck and temples which made me feel very uncomfortable. Then proceeds to put a hot towel on my face, insisting that I will love it. I did not go to a Massage parlor, I went to get my hair cut. She asked me how it felt, to avoid being rude I responded my head feels very cold and tried displaying uncomfortable body language that she did not pick up on. I left the wash station with my scalp feeling like I had washed my hair with «icy-​hot» and slightly irritated that she pressured a massage service on me that I was certain she as going to charge me extra for. Finally my hair cut begins, I show her a phot of the exact cut I was trying to achieve, front and side angle to give her something to work off of. I have particularly long hair on the top and buzzed sides, I slick it back with a fade and it looks similar to brad pitts hair hair the movie «fury». Instead of fading it like I persistently and cautiously explained. She chopped everything off the sides all the way to my temple leaving me with a hair cut that resembles the rap singer «Macklemore», if he got his hair cut by a 5 year old. I paid my 25 dollar fine in vein just to leave as soon as possible before I caused a scene. I had to gather myself and go to a different barber to see if there was any way to salvage my 6 months of hair growth now chopped to bits. I will absolutely not recommend this place to anyone that has a particular hair cut they want. Learn from my mistake. Know your barber, know their level of experience.

Came to get my hair cut for the first time in years, today. I am so bad with names but the young Woman who cut my hair was quite lovely, hilarious, and cute! I didn’t really know what I wanted so I let her do what she thought was best and I love it! I will definitely be coming back to her again and again!

Well I’ve been going to Elena since my first review and I’ve been satisfied every time! She gives an awesome scalp massage (when you get it washed) and really listens to what you want! Just got a cut today and its super cute. Thanks super cuts!

Been a regular here for 4 years now. They all know me by name and I like my girls here. Naomi is the one to see, she has skills when it comes to hair!
Make sure to get the shampoo after, it’s awesome and is very relaxing!!!
