Romancing the Home

A neat little shop that has a bit of everything. I certainly enjoyed browsing. I found lots of high quality specialty soaps.
The owner was pleasant and did a wonderful job of wrapping my items that I bought for a gift. She put a lot of care and extra time into it and it was complimentary.
Even though the prices are a little high, the great customer service, good selection, tidy and well maintained shop has earned a new client in me.

If you are not much into antiques and looking for beautiful home décor, you will really like Romancing the Home. The items in the store are new, vintage-​inspired. Think Parisian, romantic, pretty. They also sell French-​milled soaps and lotions. I purchased two tapered candles and a Paris dish. Reasonable prices. Great customer service — the ladies were very nice. A definite stop when in town.

Although they had a sign up saying that Romancing the Home was voted the best antiques in Benicia, I found that most of their items were vintage inspired rather than bona fide antiquess. But that’s neither here or there-​I found everything in their store quite delightful nonetheless.
My favorite section was their array of soaps. They carried some organic and all natural options that smelled lovely. I had such a hard time deciding, that I ended up leaving empty handed :(What can I say-​I simply had a soap panic…
Other than that, we spent quite a bit of time exploring each corner of this quite spacious store. Tons of vintagey type bird figures and art, along with candles and other home accessories. Prices were reasonable for a local independent shop and staff was friendly and engaging. I can see this being a go to spot if I lived closer for gifts and even for my own inventory of soap.
Really adorable spot and worth a look for sure!

I love to go to this great shop. I buy all my Mark Roberts elves for my Christmas décor. They have a large selection to choose from, they are well stocked. They are very helpful and friendly, they allways have the right gift.

probably the best gift store in town. check this place out at Christmas! It is fabulous!!! I can get lost in here for an hour and still not see everything! Great presentation in the store!

This is my FAVORITE Benicia store. They have all kinds of items for your home and yard, or gifts for others that are unique and affordable. I have been shopping here for nearly six years and I am always happy to find new items and get other decorating ideas — like signage for your walls, or little wall plaques with great little messages… The owners, Rob and Deb are very nice people too!
