The Bond Street Chai is so delicious! I love the atmosphere and every barista(is that what they’re called at a tea shop?) is friendly.

If you’re ever within 50 miles of a Townshend’s, seriously take the time to check them out. Amazing teas, huge selection, and a relaxing, urban feel(hipster heaven).

I’m a bit biased on this one, so let me acknowledge that first. I’ve been coming here for years. As a beverage enthusiast, Townsend’s is quite pleasing. They brew their tea loose leaf and for the correct amount of time. They have a healthy selection of kombucha which they brew themselves under the Brew Doctor label and have it available on tap and in the bottle(try the Citrus Hops, it’s stellar). My daughter loves their bubble teas, and I see them sell a lot of bubble tea. They also sell tea paraphernalia and loose leaf teas. I’ve equipped my home nicely, thanks to Townsend’s. Honestly, it can be VERY loud inside. That never stops me from visiting, but it is worth noting. They do take the correct amount of time to brew their teas, and with the line that is sometimes present, that can mean a bit of a wait. Best to not expect a Starbuck’s like to-go experience. They have comfy chairs and tables, people come to chat, work, and play games. For those new to tea, the staff is good at making recommendations. They also have an apothecary style shelf with all their teas in corked bottles, an excellent way to smell and help determine what one might enjoy.

I’ve been to Townshed’s Alberta Teahouse and it’s pretty much the same. The only difference is that Bend did not have the backyard hangouts. I ordered the green milk tea with boba and it was pretty good! Although it was more on the milky side, their boba is sweet and soft. We also loved their kombucha on tap, affordable prices! I love the atmosphere and ambiance of the place It’s so homey and relaxing – it can be so crowded though. They even sell artworks!

This place has friendly and highly educated employees in regards to tea. I didn’t even know what to order and the gentleman walked me through the basics and made me an amazing boba tea! Highly recommend this place for its atmosphere and high quality tea.

Either I’m the most unlucky person in the world or this place can’t properly stock their bubble tea supplies. I’ve been in 3 times in the last month and been turned away because they were out of straws or out of Tapioca Pearls or… If it was just that I wouldn’t be writing this review here. I guess what really pushed me over the edge is that there is usually a line in there when I visit and the friendly cashier doesn’t put up a sign or anything to let one know that they are out of something. You have to wait in line to be told the thing you want is not available. Fortunately this isn’t the only place in town or even in the downtown area that sells«Bubble» tea. I go there now.

Great low key ambiance, awesome selection of teas and very frienly service. I went here every day when I was in Bend. Some of my favorites were Chai Masala Late, Singer’s Blend Late and Tummy Tamer(good for when your tummy needs help digesting all the yummy food from Next Level Burger!)

Highly recommend this place. Worth a stop. Excellent teas and boba and there’s board games and lots of places to sit. Will definitely become a regular here.

Slow, slow, slow. I’d understand for hot tea, as they would need to brew it, but Kombucha on tap shouldn’t take 8 minutes. –sigh– I love the Townshend’s Tea in Portland and this location has the same quiet, friendly, sincere vibe. I am hoping I just came at a bad time with grumpy employees, and hope that this was an off-chance negative experience.

Atmosphere and tea is great! Sometimes the place gets really crowded and stuffy during the typical«rush hours». They have endless varieties of tea, and their bubble teas have lots of options for people with specific diets or preferences. My only complaint is they are usually slow to get the tea out, which I understand because there’s usually only 1 – 2 people working the cash register and filling orders. I’ve waited 5 minutes for tea(no problem) or half an hour on a crowded day(I almost left without my tea). It’s a very popular spot which can prove to be difficult.

Love this cute little place and the customer service is great! I am super SUPER picky when it comes to tea and to make it harder I never know what I am in the mood for. Carissa was super helpful in suggesting things and patient when my pickiness was in full force(not an easy feat I might add). She was super helpful and good natured. I have to say it was a pleasant experience and I definitely would recommend it to anyone!

All of the products they offer are great! The service is consistently awful. Unfriendly, no sense of urgency, and a generally flippant attitude about what they are doing. It’s sad cuz the atmosphere, location, and product are spot on.

The roasted coconut mate latte is the stuff dreams are made of! My husband also loved the Townshend’s Chai latte which paired beautifully with an Ocean roll. We also enjoy the various kombucha options available here to be hauled home via growler, and the bottles we can purchase at our local Safeway here in Woodburn, OR.

The only place that has a decent bubble tea in town but the service is just SO slow. I drive by and always want to stop but know it will just take way too long and isn’t worth the wait. Wish they’d hire a couple more people, that would definitely help speed things up.

While visiting Bend, stopped in with family and had a nice tea blend and played a game for about an hour on Black Friday. I love the comfy cozy funky vibe. The tea was great and I appreciate the extensive menu with the medicinal offerings. Well done!

I’ve come to Townshend’s many, many times in my travels. Usually at a crossroads. And it’s been the perfect cure for a wandering soul. Their tea selection is incomparable. I recommend the roasted coconut mate latte if you’re posting up for a while(arm yourself with some reading material and rid yourself of other engagements to make the most of it). Be sure to take some loose leaf to go – makes a great gift for friends and family who want to enjoy the spoils of your travels. Also, leave the headphones at home. You won’t need them. The music selection is perfect for the environment and — arguably — every tea drinking mood and disposition. Cheers to Townshend’s, happy trails, and crossroads of all kinds.

Townshend’s Tea House is the place for serious tea lovers. Their endless supply of different blends as well as their abundant selection of bubble teas makes it a Mecca for those who enjoy a good brew. Set in the glorious place that is downtown Bend, the shop itself has an eclectic feel in comparison to the surrounding athletic vibe of the city. Along with its rotating art displays, it has an exposed brick wall along with a variety of vintage looking furnishings. This gives the shop a very Portland feel due to its hipster ambiance. I must also mention that the shop always seems to be playing good music which only adds to its chill vibe. But apart from the shop itself, which I find to be relaxing and almost like a second home, the tea is at a level above all others. While at first their plethora of teas may seem daunting, you are welcome to smell whichever blend you wish prior to purchasing to prevent being stuck with a steaming mug of something you don’t find to be your favorite. From greens to whites and oolongs and black varieties you are certain to find your soul maté. The bubble teas too are plentiful but they are not for everyone. I myself love them but I am aware that they are not everyone’s cup of tea. From Thai iced tea with tapioca bubbles to blueberry with aloe jellies this place is sure to make your day. In short, Townshend’s will always be one of my favorite places on this eternally rotating globe, and should you have read this entire review(congrats) I hope you enjoy your experience.
