Lots of props for super nice staff? Cant say the same. I strive to be fair in my reviews, I don’t make one time snap, off the charts, emotional, ‘you ruined my day’, reviews. I give a place a time or two as everyone has a bad day, stressed, something else going on in life etc. I’ve given this place four tries, each one met with the same put-off, primadonna, stop wasting my time service. Tall thin male employee, maybe manager?- you are the #1 problem. You’ve been there each visit. Shorter guy, punkish hair, giant black earrings– gezzz you are serving coffee and what a moody boy you are. I’ve never been handed drink before and felt as if I caused someone great effort and grief. For pete sakes I order a vanilla steamer– no fancy do dah etc. I order it and I stand and wait. As I’ve said in other reviews, I dont need someone to gush over me, give me a big giant grin as if my arrival has made their day– just dont be a D*&^(a letter and symbols I’ve not used before in a review). Im delighted others find the esrvice here charming and I’m not one to think my failure to return again will make or break your business(as some feel)… but I won’t be back. And yes, as others have said. the banana bread is excellent.

My favorite coffee shop in Bend. My husband and I go often and the staff is always super and sweet. Never have I had to deal with a rude barista or anything like that. So the opposite. My 6 year old loves the banana bread(so do I… I’m obsessed!) and I love the variety of drip coffee they put out. My favorite is the Sumatran and I always buy my beans there. I take all my guests here when they visit Bend and they have all loved it. There is simply nothing bad to say about this place! I love the loyalty card system they got going too. I started coming here a year ago when we first moved to Bend, and will continue to do so as long as we live in the area! Only beans I buy for my house.

This place deserves a 5 or 4 ½ stars! You can choose any milk you want for no additional charges, and they do a really good job on the lattes(at least I’m comparing to similar cafes around the SF Bay Area, where I’m from).

I would have given additional stars but the barista was so unfriendly. Felt as though I was bothering her as I placed my order. Coffee maybe great but the service is not.

Great place by the river and retail for coffee and snacks. Time on Unilocal for opening shows 8:00 but summers seem to be 7:00.

I frequent this location on the weekends when I am at work. I like their white mocha on ice, but I usually get a lemonade with some kind of fruity flavor added. The service has always been prompt and friendly. My only suggestion is to ask for light ice in any of their iced drinks.

The service sucks. The staff was pretentious, rude, and seemed inconvenienced when I asked a few questions about their coffee, like«how many shots are in the drinks?» With a very inconvenienced attitude the answer was«well, it depends what size you get.» During my order and making of the drink, they stood there awkwardly. No conversation, friendly attitude. It was clear that didn’t want to be there. Also, the coffee sucked. It was very bitter and the milk soured because it was burned. In the Pacific NW and Bend, there are so many other options that are much better like Backporch, Thump, etc. Sorry people.

SO convenient when staying at the Hilton Garden Inn just a few hundred feet away! The espresso I had here daily was much better than anything I could find being offered in town. The service was great — both the folks behind the counter offered up some pretty real advice and takes on many topics Bend-specific. I was so impressed by their organic beans I actually took some home with me to replace my Peet’s supply. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the Mill or as the«go to» place while staying up the way at the Hilton.

Bacon Egg & Cheddar Quesadilla with green salsa is super duper! I am normally weird about eggs and only like them when I make them. These were perfect! The green salsa on the side was delicious and complimented the quesadilla.

This coffee bar is fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the coffee tastes great! I usually get a 12oz Americano with a pump of vanilla. I don’t think I’ll need the vanilla next time though because the espresso tastes smooth. I’ll definitely be back!

Matt and Allie were awesome. Their coffee knowledge helped us pick the right roast for our group. Lovely coffee, too. Sweet and bitter all at once, the way it should be.

Coffee’s solid. Treats were good. Nice atmosphere for hanging out and relaxing for a bit. Service was snotty and arrogant. The guy behind the counter made a crack about the previous customer not being able«to make an intelligent choice.» If she no longer visits your coffee shop, she will have proven you wrong.

First off, the service sucks. This is the Mill dist location and they have an attitude. Secondly, the staff is rude– turning a talking to a coworker while I’m still saying my order. Thirdly, they served me regular milk when I asked for soy. Unfortunately didn’t figure this out in time :(I will never visit them again at this location

As a born and raised Californian, moving to Bend was a little weird. I was going to be without my Peet’s Coffee, and I was really worried and sad. As soon as I found Strictly Organic in the Old Mill, I knew I would be okay! They have great coffee, and the staff is excellent! I definitely recommend Strictly Organic in the Old Mill.

as a barista i cannot live without caffeine therefore i have made it a habit to come here every morning since i arrived in bend– it’s really that good! i love the fact that everything is organic/natural and especially great they have a variety of options for the lactose intolerant and gluten-free.(choices include soy, rice, and oat milk!) the only reason i deducted one star was because of how they make their iced coffee. instead of using the cold brew toddy system,(which reduces acidity and creates a full-bodied flavor) they just pour hot coffee over ice which diminishes the quality significantly. :/still delicious though :)

Anytime that I go down to the Old Mill, I have coffee in Strictly Organic. Once I encountered an employee who had an attitude as big as Dallas TX and actually followed me outside to berate me! He no longer works there, I wonder why. Otherwise the employees have been more than friendly and helpful. The coffee has always been good. The snacks are organic and usually good though I have found some to be dry, then again, you are drinking coffee, and dunking IS permitted. Sitting outdoors and people watching in the cool evening with a friend is wonderful.

I wish I could give them 4 stars since I love how eco-friendly the roaster is. But the coffee just wasn’t that good. The barista seemed disengaged and I don’t feel a whole lot of care went into my beverage. The smallest cup was a 12oz, which I think is totally lame. I see that more and more now. Whatever milk lovers! What-evs! I ordered a wet soy cap in a 12oz cup and asked for about 4oz of soy milk to be added to the espresso. It tasted like a very dark roast and it was super bitter upfront. Not my favorite. It was my first visit and I’m not sure if I’ll be back.

I’ve enjoyed a cup or two at their main location, up the hill on Bond Street( ). This is their new coffee bar in the center of the Old Mill Shops. Seriously green and environmentally conscious, they also do the most important thing — deliver a good cup of coffee. The main location is where they roast their fair trade beans and have a full scale café. The selection of bakery items is smaller here, but it is all good. Always preferable to have a local option to the mermaid.
