Went here to grab a quick lunch. I was helped by the most rude, inattentive young woman at the hot foods section. She has short hair, avoid her at all costs! I think that if you aren’t comfortable being in the service industry you need to find another job! She would not look at me when she spoke so quietly. She seemed genuinely angered when I asked her to repeat herself. I work in the service industry and this was by far, the worst service I have ever had. I will not return there in hopes to forever avoid this member of your staff.

Kristen Dale in the bakery department ROCKS! She is so creative and adds her magic touch to specialty cakes and every time they taste delicious too and just today when I had her cake for a co-workers birthday I was asked repeatedly where I had gotten it. Thank you Kristen for always being so bold and to take on so much to please your customers like me.

It’s a Safeway what can you say. Oh my gosh though, talk about slow checkers!!! It seems to get slower every time I go there. We try to avoid as much as possible just for that reason. Bit on the spendy side to boot.

Albertsons bought the Safeway chain, so the reorganization/remodel and the change in the bulk section are because of that. This is an excellent Safeway, friendly staff and the manager goes out of her way to be helpful. I have met only one not-so-friendly/helpful staff member, all the rest are great.

Being the only grocery store near my house that isn’t a high-end, specialty grocery store I often find myself at this Safeway. Now, Safeway just isn’t my favorite grocery chain in general, but this location irritates me to no end. Every time I am here, I find myself wandering around aimlessly trying to find an item that is no longer in the place it was when I was here last. On a recent visit, I discovered they had completely taken away the bulk section. I often am not able to purchase everything on my grocery list when I shop here, and I have that expectation when shopping at a major grocery chain. The employees here are really wonderful, and always willing to walk me to the aisle to find whatever item I’ve been searching for, and of course I’ll keep shopping here for the convenience. But please, stop moving everything around on your customers and confusing them!

This is the worst pharmacy. I should know better as I have called in refills several times and they are never ready when you go to pick them up. Switching to Costco.

Okay favorite Safeway, you aren’t my favorite anymore. Store reorganization, second one within the last few years. Seems like it was just last year, but I’m going to say it was a couple of years ago. Five days later and items are still on rolling racks, not in their new permanent home. Ugh! I’m sure this is a marketing strategy, meanwhile I don’t think this is what customers want. For every day items that I am used to buying, I shouldn’t have to ask. And where’s the staff I know and love? Meanwhile, some staff that I am familiar with and are efficient, but zero personality are still there? Meanwhile, the turnover, or new staff seems really high and they are sooooo slow. The majority of my shopping is done on the perimeter of the store and that has not changed. Meanwhile, I spend and extra five minutes looking for tomato sauce and finally ask and am directed to one of the temporary rolling carts. Obviously never would have found it without help. Don’t even ask me where the granola bars went. Being the only major grocery chain on the westside doesn’t mean you get to do what you want to do, customers still count? Or no? Bummer, they are the most convenient for me. But I will be looking elsewhere to do my every day shopping. Pharmacy continues to excel.

Curt staff, management that doesn’t care about customers OR the success of their own store. Always out of stock on 1⁄3 to ½ of our grocery list. Bend is a tourist town, and it always booms on the weekends. Can’t anyone look at what’s selling, and order more before the weekends? And yes, we avoid shopping on the weekends. They’re still 1⁄3 out of stock. Maybe it’s concern for freshness. No, that’s not it. Half the time I went for coffee they would be out of bags. BAGS! Last time I checked, coffee bags had a long shelf life. The sad part is, lost revenue. We can’t purchase what isn’t there. So, we go elsewhere, and that store gets the revenue. Hard to believe Ray’s didn’t make it right across the street, and Safeway survived.

I shop here often, their customer service is great and they always seem to have what I need. I really enjoy getting points towards my gas. I usually save .¢20-.¢30 cents on each gallon of gas.

Wow! This is a nice Safeway! I don’t usually write reviews on grocery stores but I found my new grocery store. For starters it looks like you’re pulling into a resort. Nice landscaping and comfortable surrounding businesses. This store is Very clean and organized. They have a great wine selection to choose from. They also have an awesome floral department with beautiful bouquets always available. Always reasonable prices at any Safeway. This store has Nice upbeat staff. Just a overall nice grocery store to shop at. This will be my new Safeway I will be shopping at.

Desperate for a last minute gift, I dropped into Safeway. Mary-Ann in the floral department was friendly and helpful. She pulled together a few bunches of flowers and created an impressive floral creation. All for $ 20! Very reasonable, and everyone enjoyed the resulting bouquet for several days as the roses bloomed. Thank you!

I wish the wine guy would move to Portland so I could visit him more often! Hooked me up on a bottle of delightful Colombia Vally wine from Pendulum. Winner! Went perfect with the pizza from Cibellies!

Yes. This is a review for a Safeway. No. I have not been putting something«special» in my coffee this morning. I normally have an «ugh» response to commercial grocery stores, but aside from the fact that this west side Bend Safeway location is convenient for me, here’s why they get my business from time to time for certain things… …the FLORALDEPARTMENT is top notch for GOODQUALITYHOUSEPLANTS, especially seasonal blooming house plants that I prefer. Anyone who lives in Central Oregon’s high desert knows how dicey it is to find good indoor plants(that our friends and relatives west of the Cascades find there in such abundance). But this Safeway has not only good quality plants, they are at reasonable prices; sometimes even bargain prices using your Safeway Club Card. And one of the things that makes this a first stop for indoor plants is that the people who manage and work in this department take care of the plant materials after they arrive… keeping them watered and so on. It breaks my heart to go other plant sales /floral departments in Bend stores and see the plants dying from neglect after arrival on premises. The folks in this floral department also do beautiful fresh arrangements at a very good price. …for a commercial grocery where the decision of what to put on the shelves in the WINEDEPARTMENT is made at corporate or regional level, this store has a surprisingly good selection of NW wines in a range that we’d call«school night» wines for good quality and reasonable price point. What makes them all the more attractive is that sometimes there will be a 30% off sale for wines from specific regions(as in WA state wines, as example.) Not to mention there is always a discount of XX%(10%?) for a purchase of six or more wines. And the«wine guy» on prem is very helpful if you have questions. This is not your«average Safeway wine aisle». …the selection of PERKYPEPPERSINPRODUCE(say that ten times fast) may be the best in town for variety… Ahaheim, Poblano, Thai Bird, Serrano, Jalapeño, Habanero… they have ‘em and they are typically nice and fresh. …the«SITANDSIP» ALCOVE right off the entry and across from the in-store Starbuck’s has a fireplace, comfy seating and even a TV… typically tuned to the cooking channel… if you are looking for a place to warm up or cool down… seriously, it’s a comfortable place for a latte or a frappucino or just a cuppa joe. …FRIENDLYPEOPLE work here throughout the store and at check out and this store also employs people with developmental disabilities at front of house, helping with bagging and so on, which is way cool in my view. I’ll never be a regular Safeway shopper given big grocery chains just aren’t my thing. But this is a single store in a big grocery chain that has some elements of a neighborhood store, mostly thanks to the folks who work there.(Isn’t that so often true — people make the difference?). They get«thumbs up» from me.

Yes, it’s a Safeway, part of a huge chain of supermarkets that I’m familiar with. I’d never really gone into it before because my MIL prefers the Ray’s Food Place next door, so that’s been a go-to ‘food place’ for a long time. I was in need of a small bottle of contact lens solution, which Rays didn’t have, so we trudged across the road to this place. Quelle surprise! This Safeway must be a flagship store, as its enormous size allows it to include ‘extras’ like a wall full of bulk bins, a kitchenware section featuring Le Creuset(!), a coffee & tea section with more beverage making hardware(coffee presses, travel mugs, grinders, etc.) than I’ve seen at a Starbuck’s and a very impressive produce section. So if you’re looking for something a bit off the beaten path(like soft contact lens solution in a small size) and have a sudden desire to fondle upscale kitchenware, this place is worth checking out.
