River Bend Dog Park

This place used to be great when it first opened but the last 4 times I have been there with my friendly golden retriever he has been attacked by aggressive dogs. I keep wanting to give it another try but I am not going back after last time. There was a super aggressive dog that thought when any other dogs played they were fighting and he wanted to fight all of them. After that first aggressive dog left there was another one that came in. My dog was standing in front of him and other dogs were greeting this new dog and then this new mean dog to no reason decides to attack my dog and pinned my dog on the ground and kept attacking him. I pulled it off my dog and the owner said nothing. We left because my dog was on edge and didn’t want to leave my side because he thought it was unsafe. The man with the overly aggressive dog stayed and as I was getting in my car I saw his dog attack another friendly dog. I understand that the dog just might not be friendly but don’t take your mean dog to a park where friendly dogs want to enjoy some free time. I have had an aggressive dog and I would never put it in a situation where it could hurt another dog.
Beware: very aggressive dogs with owners that don’t care.

Nice dog park with great accessibility, lots of parking and it’s a big park, plenty of room for lots and lots of dogs. There is the main fenced in area that is comprised of two areas within — one for large dogs, one for small dogs. For the most part everyone just uses the large dog area. It’s covered with bark which is fine. There are garbage cans and trash bags as well and for the most part people pick up after their dogs (heavy sigh). It’s a big space, so for those that like to play fetch there is more than ample room. People are good with their dogs and any sort of tension (that I’ve seen) has been quickly addressed.
There is a working water fountain for the dogs, plus someone has brought in a plastic tub that gets filled with water for those dogs that aren’t good with drinking from the fountain.
The best part of the park is across the path, a much smaller fenced in area along the river. My dog loves this side, loves to wade and run along the rocks with the other dogs. Ultimately she’s not going to swim, but she’s going pretend she’s one of the gang. Silly, but fine by me.
I agree with Tom K., dog loves it, I’m not sold on the dust.

From my dog’s point of view this park is the bee’s knees. There is a ton of traffic for him to chase along the fence line. The dogs dont bug him much and the fountain works.
Not my favorite though too dusty.
