Great location, grounds, and lower house but thats about it, small rooms with no closets, poor temperature control in rooms, breakfasts were inexcusably poor at this price point. Not a good value proposition overall.

What a beautiful place! It was so wonderful that we ended up staying a second night. It’s the perfect spot to relax and the house was very charming, spacious, and clean. Megan was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The happy hour was a nice bonus! We definitely enjoyed wine and cheese while sitting on the relaxing porch. Thank you!

Treated to a lovely weekend here. Highly recommend. Charming, comfortable, beautiful appointed, fresh roses through out, adorable tiny cup cakes, and fluffiest comfy beds. Enjoyed a beautiful walk in the near by Drake park. The breakfast of French Toast Pecan Casserole, bacon, and fresh fruit is delicious. We stayed in the Cascade Room over looking the park, inn grounds and beautiful blooming Hawthorn trees across the street. Sarah and Jarrid were as courteous and attentive as they could be. We felt at home the minute we entered up to the minute we left!

We really enjoyed our weekend at the Lara House! The hosts were so friendly, accommodating and great cooks! There were always fresh cookies around and breakfast was delicious. The first morning breakfast was a smoothie and a breakfast casserole with sausage and sun dried tomatoes, and the second morning breakfast was a yogurt parfait and lemon scented pancakes with a blueberry compote and bacon. Every evening there’s an hour long happy hour with cheese plates and free beer and wine. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were beautifully decorated and larger than I expected. The claw foot tubs in the bathroom beautiful as well. Finally, the location of the Lara House is great. It’s a short walk to many shops and restaurants and about a 20 minute walk to the Deschutes Brewery. Across the street is Mirror Pond which is a gorgeous place to walk or sit. Can’t wait to go back to Bend and stay at the Lara House again!

Was the best Bed and Breakfast I have ever stayed at! The rooms were clean and spacious and had nice T.V.‘s and showers and beautiful beds. The innkeepers were really nice and professional and the breakfast in the morning was great! If you’re in bend it is the best place to stay.

This place was great! As we walked in we were offered complimentary cookies and shortly after our arrival we were informed that the houses«happy hour» starts in a few minutes where we were given FREEBEERANDWINE! Breakfast in the mornings were great, bocce ball in the yard was a hit. Right across the street is the famous Mirror pond which was great to visit. The rooms were very large and we had our private bathroom which is desirable. The bed was very comfortable. The owners were super friendly and great to talk to. Next time I’m in Bend this is where I am coming back to. Thanks guys!

Lara House is fabulous! We stayed at a highly rated B&B in Portland before heading to Lara House and I’m so glad it was second because it was so much nicer. The house and rooms are beautiful, Peter is awesome and the food is delicious. We had so much fun chatting over breakfast with the other guests. I’d say we’ll be back but we loved Bend so much we live here now. Although when anyone visits us we’ll definitely recommend they stay at Lara House.

I’ve been to my share of B&B’s and this place deserves more reviews on Unilocal. I believe we got a living social or groupon to this place. I’d probably stay here even without the discount. The keeper, Peter, is a friendly knowledgable just easy going guy. He’s got great resources in the place to help guide you in what to do in Bend. The house is gorgeous. The décor and house itself are just amazing. Rooms are cozy. TV’s in all of them. Most of the bathrooms in the place have oldy-time clawfoot tubs. There is also free wifi there. Breakfast is served there around 8:30. Peter cooks up something a little creative every morning. The seating is at a largish table, and if it’s tourist season, you’ll be sitting with your housemates. Also evenings they have wine and snack time. Music in the lobby like many of these places is relaxing. The house guests are always good for some friendly conversation. Some B&B’s I’ve been to the hosts seem a bit distant. I didn’t get this vibe here at all. You actually just feel«at home» here. It’s pretty amazing. You’ll find yourself within easy walking distance of the main drag, Wall Street, as well as right next to the park in downtown, Drake park. If you’re a beer aficionado, this park is where Mirror Pond(of Mirror Pond pale ale) can be found. All in all it was a great stay in a great town. Lots of do in the house, many things to do outside it. Very highly recommended.

We had a great three day stay. The inn keeper, Peter, was kind, knowledgable, and gracious in every way. The amenities and the furnishings are impecable without being too stuff or frilly like some b&b can be. The location is great next to the park and the downtown area. We walked 3 blocks to a McMinninmins opened Sunday night at 11am. Wow! I would definately stay here again. I also thought the price during the high season was very good for such lovely accomadations. However, I didn’t comparison shop with other places in town. If you can, check in by 4pm and take advantage of the wine hour.

Had a fantastic time, our hostess was super and made us the best breakfasts each morning. She was also knowledgable of the area which helped too. We’d come back for sure if we’re ever in Bend again.

I just returned from a 4 day stay at Lara House and I’d highly recommend it. The inn is gorgeous, cozy and the décor reminds you of Frank Lloyd Wright. If you’re a foodie you’ll love the big breakfasts and the wine & hors d’oeuvres each day. No cheese and crackers here, this is the real stuff; tomato and caper spread, fromage blanc or fresh local asparagus. It’s definitely the Best of Bend.
