wanted to like it. went in on a slower afternoon, employees and/or managers were arguing and talking loudly about inappropriate things, bumming cigarettes, very unprofessional and raucous, and service was wholly lacking ordered beers and pizza for 2, spent a lot more than I expected to. toppings oily/greasy but otherwise a decent pie, crust was the best aspect, crispy and chewy. This is definitely a mediocre pizza shop worth passing on.

I was recently in Bend for my daughters college graduation. Afterwards she took us to Fire Pizza for dinner. The atmosphere was awesome and the waitress was very nice. I had a Thai pizza probably one of the best pizza’s I’ve had in a very long time. All in all the experience was very nice, I would recommend it to all my friends, and anyone interested in great atmosphere and pizza.

This is the second time eating pizza from here. The Yukon gold plus sausage is at the top of the list. Staff and atmosphere are good as well! This won’t be the last visit.

We showed up right before closing and the owner personally invited us in and made us 3 delicious pizza — marguerite, prosciutto, and half buffalo chicken /pair Gorgonzola. Sooo good. Awesome Moscow mules too! Incredibly nice to stay open late. Great vibe. Highly recommend it. Good people.

Sorry! I so want to like this place but the food is so hit and miss! One night, I fell in love with their Pear & Gorgonzola pizza. Absolutely outrageous! The next time I ordered it, it came without the Gorgonzola! When I protested, the waiter said, «it’s on there». I’m like«No. No it’s definitely not». Finally, the pizza maker person(can’t call that person a chef that night) must have fessed up and they brought me a side of it cold in a bowl. NOTTHESAME! For $ 15 for a small pie, it needed to be baked into it where it wasn’t falling off as I tried to get it to my mouth. They needed to 1) GETTHEPIEASDESCRIBEDONTHEMENURIGHTTHEFIRSTTIME and 2) to remake it IMMEDIATELY when I protested. I was left with a bland, messy, expensive pizza and I resented having to make the choice of putting my friends off while I insisted it be remade or paying for it. And, while I’m on it, just in-case they should read this: they need to get chairs and tables that fit each other. The chairs on the inside of the restaurant are way too short for the tables! You end up feeling like a child who isn’t tall enough to sit at the grown-up table. And, if it’s busy inside, you can’t hear. It is super loud in there.

Really struggling on the rating. The pizza wasn’t as good I expected but it was better than expected for my husband! Guess it’s all about perception! We split a $ 15.50 dinner sized BBQ chicken pizza. I liked it but found the small amount of shredded chicken sort of crunchy and not a lot of it. The BBQ sauce and cheese were in just the right amount. The crust was tasty, charred in places but not burned. This size was big enough to bring a few slices home. The music seemed really loud for lunch. Classic rock tunes, which at night I might appreciate but at 1215 with 5 patrons seemed a little too much. I am short and I felt like the chairs were too low for the table! But indoor décor is nice enough and I enjoy seeing the wood fired oven they cook with. There is a patio area out front with a fire pit that looks inviting for night time. Our server was attentive. I really wanted to love this place. I think I will try it one more time on a Tuesday! I did not read the Unilocal reviews until after ordering… Tuesday’s is 2 dinner size pizzas for $ 22!!! If I do this, we can order a couple pizzas and make fair judgement!(I verified with waitress that they are still offering this special)

As a Bend foodie, I have always been a bit saddened by the cluster of establishments at the southeast corner of Bond and Franklin. I’ve speculated that tourists lose interest prior to that block, given Mirror Pond Cleaners across the street to the west, and and a drab realtor across the street to the north. This lack of tourist traffic might make it more-challenging to sustain a high-quality restaurant here, making it a locals-only kind of block. I only drifted into Fire in Bend on a recent warm«First Friday Art Walk» night because my other two choices didn’t work out. As it turns out, this restaurant exceeded my expectations for the establishments on this corner. I brought a party of four into the restaurant at around 8pm, driven here by hunger since several other nearby restaurants still had large crowds waiting outside. We got a table immediately. There were at least six or seven other tables free. Two chefs behind the counter were energetically twirling pizzas in the air. We ordered the Brick Oven Baked Italian Wings. The«Italian» part meant that they were covered with the house red pizza sauce and sprinkled with some grated cheese. The menu claims that there’s some kind of hot sauce involved, too, but I couldn’t detect any trace of spiciness at all. Oddly, despite the uncrowded restaurant, the eight wings arrived cold, as if they’d barely spent any time in the oven. We sent them back. They were much-improved the second time around. We then ordered the dinner-sized Mediterranean pizza(artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta, pesto) with salami as an extra topping. This proved to be crispy(if albeit a little burnt on the edges) and packed with flavor. Another server swung by and noted approvingly that that was their tastiest pizza. Our own server stated that diners often split this between two people, but it proved to be hearty-enough for all four of us in my group. Service was friendly, relaxed, and attentive. The ambience is industrial chic with 80s Classic Rock playing overhead, cool enough for hipsters yet still accessible-enough that you’d take, say, a parent. Pizza isn’t my top choice when dining out(I’m more of Zydeco /Toomies kind of guy when it comes to Bend’s downtown restaurants), but I’d certainly come back to Fire in Bend. This is especially-true when one considers that it’s impossible to get seating at its immediate competitor — Pizza Mondo(which is oriented towards take-out). If you’re looking for an artisan pizza in a spacious place with table service, Fire in Bend in an excellent choice.

We were looking for a great takeout option and came across this highly recommended location. The restaurant looked very clean and a good atmosphere. All the of the staff were friendly and ready to assist us while there. The flavors of our pie were great. That said, we paid an extra $ 1.50 for the gluten free option and got what looked like a wood fired tortilla. If looking for a good gluten free pizza go somewhere else.

Absolutely the best pizza in town! Kids eat free on Sundays, 2 for $ 22 on Tuesdays, Happy Hour, knowledgeable & friendly staff, coupons in Smart Shopper, the list goes on and on. The beer list is concise but imaginative. Bacon cheddar bites are AMAZING. Prosciutto with arugula, fig, and a balsamic reduction is about as close to a sexual experience as you can get with your clothes on.

Fire in Bend is a wood fired pizza joint with that modern and bright open kitchen space with the bench and table seating, not my favorite ambiance but they do also have a nice outdoor fire table as well. The taps were heavy on IPA selections, which my hubby loves and they also serve cocktails. The pizza here is solid, we loved our hand tossed wood fire, all meat pizza! The marinara sauce is so good and they did not skimp on it, the crust is perfect amount of crispy and chewy. For dessert, do order the gelato, Fire and Ice, some of the best I ever tasted. I loved the spicy hints to it along with chocolate chunks. So good. The service was busy but friendly, I’d definitely return to try another of the many special pizza pies here!

I have been here 3 times and can unfortunately say that I don’t plan on returning. The food is decent but lacks any standout flavors. The waitstaff is extremely friendly but a little scatterbrained(have to ask for things multiple times). The last time I visited they ran out of pretty much everything we ordered. A lot was comped and substitutions were made in haste but I find it irresponsible for a restaurant to be that ill prepared. And then my biggest complaint is the atmosphere, the location is ideal for a restaurant but the interior needs some help to make it enjoyable for having a meal. The space feels more like an industrial building instead of a pizza place(and not hipster industrial, just cold). I do hope that Fire is able to up its game. If I hear of better reviews in the future I will certainly give it another shot.

Having gotten into bend late we immediately hit up Unilocal and found this restaurant with fairly good reviews. There is an old saying about pizza that isn’t review appropriate but with that on mind decided to check it out. Atmosphere: not much here the fire on the outside is cool but gimmicky. This is the nitpicky part so I’ll leave it at 3⁄5 service: friendly upbeat people but not the most attentive 3⁄5 Food: so pizza isn’t hard to make. Yes this place somehow couldn’t pull it off. What we were served was a chewy tasteless crust with a healthy serving of bland marina sauce. We ordered the Margarita which was topped with tomatoes too thick, a smidgen of basil and a few small dollops of mozerella. There was so little cheese you could get several bites in without actually getting any. 1⁄5 Overall this place missed the mark and was way over priced.

I came for dinner and was pretty disappointed. It took over an hour to get our food and the service was extremely slow, I believe there were only 3 servers in the packed restaurant. There was very thick smoke in the entire restaurant, which hurt our eyes and made everything we were wearing smell like smoke. The food itself was good but the atmosphere and the time delay was subpar.

We decided to give this place a shot because of the good reviews, but were a little wary after reading the bad ones… –The seating is very cramped. The waitresses even have a hard time navigating between tables. They sat my girlfriend and I right next to the door, so we would get a nice 10 degree wind chill every time someone walked in or out. –Our water took 20 minutes, and our 2 pizzas took over an hour. This wouldn’t have been that big of an issue if the waitresses had acknowledged our presence. The pizza was mediocre at best and cold. –The restaurant was filled with thick smoke. We ended up getting our pizzas to go because both of our eyes were red and burning. –The owner seems like a great guy according to the reviews, but this place has a lot to work on if they want to stay in business. We were in town for three days to celebrate our anniversary, and I regret wasting one of our nights here. –The best part was discovering«Powell’s Sweet Shop» on the way home.

We were in town and got the craving for pizza. So we called and placed an order for their crab(can’t remember the name off the top of my head) and artichoke pizza. We had been given some dining dough gift certificates from 7th Mountain Resort after attending one of their timeshare presentations. So my husband goes to pick up our pizza and we find out that the owner didn’t authorize his participation in this program. Instead of charging us, he honored(while taking the hit) the certificate and gave us the pizza regardless. It was amazing! We would have gladly paid for the pizza either way. Do yourself a favor and eat here! The pizza is amazing and the owner is fantastic!

I’m pleased to say that fire in bend was a pleasant surprise for lunch. I had their carnivore pizza and it was delicious! The mother’s sauce was flavorful and not too heavy on any particular flavor(some places go crazy on the garlic). They accidentally sprinkled some basil and apologize for it, but I think I would ask for basil added next time. It added a nice balance to the heavy salty flavors of the cured meats! Dave, the owner made the experience all the better. Not only did he check on us to ensure everything was to satisfaction, but also spent time trading stories and history. You can tell that he is proud of his restaurant and what they offer. Dave also allowed us to try their signature gelato flavor«fire and ice». I won’t reveal the secret ingredients here other than to say it was a delightful treat. Vanilla sweet with some chocolate and some bite but done with a careful balance. I will definitely stop by «fire in bend» next time I’m in town. Personable, flavorful, and enjoyable — the reasons you go back to a restaurant! If you see Dave, and you read this review. Tell him Chris Carlson from Portland sent you(and try the gelato). If you are from Alaska you can share some tales from the Artic stories with him too.

The crust was amazing! We ordered a Yukon Gold pizza — it was interesting! Turned out to not be my favorite pizza but we were intrigued by potatoes on a pizza. I would definitely eat here again, I want to try a more traditional pizza, and dine in — the space is inviting. We ordered to go and it was ready in ten minutes!
