This place is AMAZING! I wish I lived right next to it. I was honestly the first AND the last customer yesterday. The first one I got was honeydew and li hing (plum) with sweet cream and it was delicious. The second one I got was peach with sweet cream and it was a little bitter but still good. You can definitely find me here this summer!

Why arn’t they open year round?! This is the most authentic Hawaiian shave ice place I’ve found in Oregon and I would stand in line in January to get some. I always get the Maui sunset with cream on top — I’m not into the ice cream but it’s a nice (free) option for some.

we are vacationing here from n. cal and happened upon this place via trip advisor. we stopped here for a pre-​movie treat. convenient location near the old mills shopping area. great selection and the ice cream and sweet cream was a treat. there are 2 picnic tables under a pop-​up and a small grassy area with some shade. it was a hot day so we thoroughly enjoyed our treat!

On a hot summer day (like today), Dakine Grinds can’t be beat. Shaved ice, more flavors and combinations, create your own, plus a menu full of ideas. As for ice cream too, they put it in the bottom, below the shaved ice and it’s a nice addition. Plus you can have either sweet cream, or sour sauce to top it all off.
There’s no wrong choices here.
Prices are reasonable, don’t be fooled by the small cup size, yeah it’s small, but then they pile it about four inches high with the shaved ice. $ 3.50 for a small.
New location for them, they have spent the last couple of summers parked next to Aspect, now they have moved over onto Industrial in the dirt parking lot. Fairly easy to spot as your driving through. Grassy area and benches to sit and enjoy your ice. Not a perfect place to hang out (with the wind blowing it’s pretty dusty), but not bad either.
Nice enough kids running the cart.

Great place! The people are friendly and have a great atmosphere! The prices are amazing and the shave ice is so so so good! Make sure you get the sweet cream on top (free). It’s seriously addicting and I get so sad when they are closed in the winter

We fell in love with Açaí bowls while we were in Hawaii earlier in the year and we keep our eye out for places that serve them when we travel. We have had mixed success with finding bowls that lived up to our expectations. Well, I can firmly say that Dakine Grindz bowls met our expectations. Our server was very friendly and not only made us two very tasty Açaí bows, but also some very good espresso drinks. Highly recommend Dakine Grindz if you are ever in the Bend area and are looking for some authentic Island delights (they also make traditional Shaved Ice treats)
