Michael’s Honkytonk Saloon opened on Halloween night 2014 at what was formerly known as the Jaudon Roadhouse. Michael and his wife Shelly have put a ton of work in to improving the place and it shows!
I will write more about this great little place in the near future — as Michael says, it is truly the last of it’s kind in metro KC —
Entertainment varies from jukebox to live entertainment (don’t be surprised when Michael pulls out his guitar and works the crowd) to karaōke — Pool table and electronic bar-​games are also offered.
Strong patronage by locals — a lot of characters — but there is a growing crowd of younger folks and professionals — a good mix for a honky-​tonk dive bar.
Smoking is still allowed in the establishment, so if that is an issue for you, you might want to pass — but it is well-​ventilated so it’s not that horrible hanging cloud you see some places.
I’ve been there many times and will be there many more —
