I grew up in Belton in the 80’s and 90’s. This place had my young heart believing that everyone everywhere eats beef jerky like this. Not true! There is not any place that makes beef jerky this good. When I am home visiting family I still have to stop in for beef jerky. Unbelievable! This stuff is so good that during holidays you are lucky to even have the pleasure of purchasing a pound or two. People give this jerky as gifts.
If you are driving through Belton and love beef jerky you must stop in. Heck, I’d even say if you’re visiting or living ANYWHERE between Austin and Waco and love beef jerky, the drive is worth it. Call ahead first to make sure they haven’t sold out!

This place has good, quality meat. I frequently get my whole chicken and hamburger here and the occasional steak. Their meat is fresh and just plain taste better. I sometimes need meat when they are closed and when I get it from the grocery store I always regret it. When you stop by get a beef stick– jalapeño and cheese– yum.

L&R is a great place to get quality and local meat! We go here every week and have always had a good experience. Their steaks are the bomb dot com. While I love our grocery store in Belton, go to L&R to support a local business and get better meat!
