I was very happy with the results from my first print job with them. Liked the idea of silver gelatin prints from digital. I sent three different images over and they all turned out just as expected based on my calibrated setup. I did try the sepia processing and it matched the preview I came up with nearly exactly. If you know your way around a computer and don’t want fiber prints make sure you look for the value service. I almost missed it, but it saved me a ton of money. I used the ROES uploader and, luckily, I had used it in the past because my first experience was pretty annoying. On my mac I had to install some stuff and manually tell it to open with java, but it worked as before.

I said goodbye to my best friend of 13+ years on August 11. Prior to his final departure, one of my best friends took his portrait. I found Digital Silver Imaging via Google, and I ordered a silver gelatin fiber print to be produced from a raw camera file. The photo just arrived and I am sitting in my living room with tears of sadness and joy running down my face. The print is wonderful and I cannot express my gratitude enough for the talented and professional people at DSI. Just… thank you.

I’ve been using Digital Silver Imaging since it opened. I am a fine art portrait artist, and I was looking for a company that produced beautiful, B&W fiber prints from digital negatives. DSI was my answer. They are not your average ‘photo lab,’ the photographs they create are absolutely amazing, both B&W and color. Besides the great quality, the owner and his team really care about their clients and making them happy. Several times I have come in with a ‘challenging’ order, and each time, they go the extra mile to make sure it’s done quickly and on time. They are truly a company that is committed to serving their customers. Thank you, DSI!

Just got my first prints back from DSI, and I must say I am impressed. There were no surprises, and the staff was very helpful. I had some minor editing to do on several images, and they did a great job on that too. Being able to take a digital file and print on a fiber based, silver gelatin paper using traditional darkroom chemistry is hard to come by these days. It’s nice to know there are no pixels, and no ink so no fading. I would definitely recommend DSI for professional looking archival quality B&W printing.

Be certain to check on your order and find out if the one person who will be working on it is going on vacation. I had to cancel my order because it was going to be delayed at least a week. If I hadn’t called about shipping options after it had already been at the lab for a week I wouldn’t have known about the delay at all. The quality of the printing may be good. The customer service leaves a great deal to be desired.
