Lola’s Tapas Bistro

Reviewing this restaurant is like a good news/​bad news joke. First the good news: The food was tasty and reasonably priced. Our party of 5 shared three tapas and 2 entrees. Now the bad news: It took NEARLY TWO HOURS to get all the dishes we ordered! No joke. The final dish – arroz con pollo – took so long to come out, that we simply asked the server to wrap it up so we could take it home! No explanation was given as to why our 5 dishes came out one by one over near two hours. The restaurant was only about ¾ full, and certainly something like arroz con pollo is far from exotic. It was a shame to have had this experience, because the food was good. But who can sit for so long waiting for each dish to come out?! Very disappointing. And here’s the kicker: we were served a small basket of chips with salsa. When we ran out of chips (which didn’t take long with 5 people and not much food being served) we asked for more chips. The server actually said they would have to CHARGE US for more chips! Are you kidding? Do they not realize how much good will they lost for a nickel’s worth of chips? We were outraged.
