Kc’s Steak & Rib House

So far I am at a five star review. I am waiting on my steak and ribs combo, but the Cajun dry rub wings have entertained me in their stead. Some people claimed that the place was filthy and outdated. I dis agree. Rustic yes but not dirty.
No one has complained about the steak or ribs so I’m sure I will stay at five stars but I will hold off on sending just in case. …sorry for the delay I was tying my tongue down to keep from slapping my brains out. Seriously though the ribs were ok and the steak was good despite being slightly over cooked. Sticking with the five star keeping it positive.

Our server was great. Food was horrible we both got the combo steak and ribs. Ribs were cooked several days ago, steak had no seasoning, chicken wings were tuff. Gordon Ramsey needs to visit, save your money only got a star for the staff’s personality. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

Fun place. I sat in the bar & ordered the nachos & a cold adult beverage. The nachos have pulled pork & salsa with shredded cheese on top, & I asked them to hold the sour cream, which they did. Dang those are some good nachos! They also have the best sounding jukebox I’ve ever heard, and you can play songs on it with your phone. They didn’t like my Willie Nelson song, but the others were a hit. How can I help it if others don’t appreciate the master? I didn’t want to leave, so I ordered more nachos. They also have ribs, but I’m from Mississippi, so it might be sacrilege to order ribs in Ohio. I’ll have to look it up;-)

Food quality was just ok.
I don’t recommend the sweet potato fries — they are covered in cinnamon sugar!

Driving by and want some BBQ? Slow down, take the exit and pull up a seat here! My boyfriend and I stopped on a drive from Columbus to Cleveland and have been recommending this place to our friends who make the same trek. Portions were big and flavor was spot-​on. They even had a nice little patio so we could get some fresh air.

Wonderful ribs! Fell off the bone and quite tasty. Excellent service. Delicious sweet potato fries. We would stop here again for sure.

Looks like it won’t be much for good food judging the book by its cover but actually this place has a great perfectly cooked riveted n all food tastes fresh n great. Great find along my journey

Just say NO to KCs. The cowbell clanking door, sticky table, and food trashy floor should have sent us running. But who could resist their four-​foot tall half-​moon pleather booths alongside unwashed oxygen-​rolling granny, super tall one-​armed track suit guy, butt-​crack baggy basketball shirt man, and other assorted freak show families. At least KC’s food is consistent. Consistently bad. Lukewarm, thin, bland french onion soup. Obviously store-​bought frozen cheese sticks. Clumpy, chewy, tasteless mac and cheese. And a filet so rubbery it takes a strongman to slice, topped with canned mushrooms and mushy onions. I will say their namesake ribs are sufficiently tender but the sweet tangy sauce is eerily similar to Baby Rays. Despite still being hungry, we were afraid to try the dessert plates individually saran-​wrapped in the ancient cloudy display case. For better food at cheaper prices, head down the road to Der Dutchman and Wishmaker, or continue just a bit north to Oak Park, Skyway, or BBQ. Right now, I’m just hoping not to spend all night in the bathroom. Let this be a cautionary tale. Stay away.

The ribs were fantastic but I was disappointed when I opened my takeout bag and found out they left out one of my sides!
I’d go back for the ribs… can’t comment on the potato since I didn’t get it!

If you ever find yourself between Columbus and nowhere, and need a decent steak, this would be it. When your options are Cracker Barrel and Applebee’s, it’s really a no-​brainer.

This is a tough review for me. My wife really enjoys KC’S so she wanted to take me to her new fav. The place is really neat. I love the old barn wood.
However very dirty. I was so afraid the globs of dust and dirt were going to fall off the fans onto my food.
I feel the owners kind of need a pick me up.
Our server was very nice however she was too busy to give us the service I had hoped for.
I got a salad… not good idea. Ice burg lettuce, a few carrot shreds, a few mushrooms??? The chicken was very dry.
Now the good: wife got ribs, they were great. The others we were with got steak and seemed like a beautifully prepared steak. The vegetables were fresh, and onion rings are awesome.
I think the prices are very reasonable for the steaks and ribs.
This would be an easy 4 if they would shut down for a day and clean from floor to ceiling!

A REALLY GOOD, locally owned, not fancy, western-​themed steakhouse.
It reminds me of the bar in the Blues Brothers movie (the real one) where Jake asks the woman what kind of music they have, and she says «oh, we have BOTH kinds — Country AND Western!!!».
Very cool dining room. Friendly servers. Yummy salads and dinner rolls.
Delicious, good quality steaks at fair prices. Where else can you get a really good 12oz New York Strip, flamed properly, with a salad and baked potato for $ 20.00 ??
Our kids loved the desserts, too.
When we’re in this part of the state, I PROMISE we’ll be back.

It’s privately owned and has a cool interior, although a tad dark and borderline dingy. We wanted to try a different steak place and came across KCs. The menu is really small, and steaks no larger than 12oz on the menu. I had a steak and ribs combo. My steak was really nice — thick and juicy, but overdone. The ribs were yummy — nice fall-​off-​the-​bone style. The rolls they bring out are a joke, seriously don’t even bother getting them. They are like store bough hockey pucks, and my side salad was watery and really small. My hubby got chicken breasts and they provide two medium breasts, which he said were good. Overall, the sides and non-​meat times were very lackluster. If you stick with meat you’ll be fine. We wouldn’t go back unless someone insisted we go with them, but it’s worth a go if you want a change.

Old fashioned, privately owned steakhouse with fantastic steaks. I had the 12 oz Ribeye. Others in my party had the 12 oz NY Strip and the Filet Mignon. Every person said it was one of the best steaks they had ever eaten. Cooked exactly to specification and juicy and flavorful. If you like steak, you will not be disappointed when you try this gem. It’s right on I 71 just behind the McDonalds. We found it on Unilocal.We would never have found it otherwise. Great service as well. I couldn’t be more pleased with the meal.

We are heading home after a long day of driving (and meetings for my hubby) when he asked if I was hungry. To be honest I did not know what I was. I decided to look up restaurants at the next exit that people had gone to thinking that worse came to worse I would just go to a Fast Food Chain. Then I saw the reviews for Kc’s and after reading them decided to try it out. Boy were they correct when they said they had good food. We had the Rib and Steak Combo with to die for Home made Macaroni and Cheese (I am really surprised this place hasn’t been on Triple D yet). We also had the Rib Eye that was wonderfully prepared, the salad was fresh and salad dressing yummy. I was even too full for dessert! Yes I would go there again.

Great food, good atmosphere, and the prices are right. Highly recommended!

This place is the bomb! Burgers are ground on site & are AMAZING!
Did I mention cheap too? Oh yeah!

As far as a highway exit restaurant goes this place is pure gold. The building has great décor, I love the door pulley system and wooden frame work around the dining room.
Staff was easy going and responsive and prices were fair. I got the prime rib Saturday night special and it was great. Full of flavor and a huge portion. The baked potato was top notch and as others have commented the green beans are fresh and really tasty. My friends NY strip looked excellent and the ribs were awesome. I’d have to guess it was at least a five hour cook. The meat was falling off of the bones, and the bones themselves were so soft you could push a fork through them.
Maybe this place wouldn’t be 5 stars in the big city, but if you’re looking for someplace better then Hardy’s to eat between Columbus and Cleveland thats close to 71 you aren’t going to get any better then KC’s.
