Staff is just too busy to be accommodating… they need to pay more attention to the customer. Rushing when taking order via phone, quoting 20 mins but really taking 40, and then there are mistakes in the order. For a place that has been around this long will need to start improving if they want to survive.

Quintessential Long Island deli. Hot and cold food, big portions, hot coffee and cold beer. It’s not cheap but you get a lot for your money and they don’t skimp on portion size.
There’s a no-​nonsense woman working the front, a big girl with blond hair. She’s sweet as sugar and she gets your order out in a flash — I think I love her but that’s not the point.
They rock breakfast. American cheese omelette, home fries, toast, plus an additional side order of thick crispy bacon plus a medium coffee for $ 7.50 and you don’t have to tip. $ 7.50? Damn. The same thing at the Imperial Diner in Freeport is $ 14.50 not including tax and tip.
The heroes are big enough to feed 2 normal people. My favorite is the London Broil Melt for $ 6.49 — London broil, peppers, mushrooms, melted provolone cheese on a toasted hero. Even a garvone like me can hardly finish one.
One piece of constructive criticism — when you take the orders, put the person’s name on the slip. When it’s ready, call out the name like they do at Southside Deli or Starbucks.
Overall — Two thumbs up.

I got an egg sandwich with bacon and cheese. The guy working there was very rude to me. The food made me sick to my stomach and sent me right to the bathroom. Avoid this place, you might get sick from their unsanitary food and rude staff.

Overstuffed, great quality ingredients, fresh bread. The service is quick, but of course there’s always clowning around.

Used to love this place foods excellent but the last time I went in one of the guys was putting my big order in a cardboard box when I asked him if he could please put it I a bag because I was going to the beach, he got extremely annoyed and threw the box across the back of the counter, over asking nicely! Never right these reviews but me nor the people I was with won’t be going back there due to that extremely RUDE customer service.

Called in a lunch order. They told me 15 minutes on the phone, but when I got there they told me they said 30 minutes. It’s little things like this that make me wonder why I didn’t just drive the extra 5 minutes to get a way better sandwich at My Hero.

John Moore’s is a solid lunch spot for anyone who works near Merrick Road in Bellmore. All the deli meats are fresh, and the service is very quick. The lunch line moves fast, so you should be sure to read the giant menu and be prepared for when it’s your turn to order. The menu few features quite a few interesting options if you’re not sure what kind of sandwich you want to build from scratch. There are also a few tables inside if you’d like to stay; the tables are usually occupied by high schoolers if you stop by during the week.

Very unreliable! I ordered a business breakfast to be delivered, they said no problem and then cancelled on me at the last minute when it was too late to find someone else. Manager told me I just physically can’t make it because we took too many delivery orders. If you can’t do it, just let me know right away so I can find someone who can. Don’t leave me stranded at the last minute!!! Not nice at all, I have to tell my client at the last minute that I won’t be able to fulfill a very important breakfast meeting because my caterer said they can’t make it after all.

Stopped by here for lunch. A lot of solid options. The «psycho chicken» caught my eye. You had me at bacon.
It was a large and delicious sandwich.
Nothing interesting inside, definitely more of a take-​out kind of deli.

John Moore’s caters all of our family parties and the food is always delicious!!!
Their steak, mushrooms and onion tray is amazing! Order it now.
We always order the grilled chicken supreme hero for parties and it is spot on every time. I highly recommend the chicken caesar salad, the chicken francaise and the chicken marsala. These are the staples to all of our parties, but everything we have tried through the years is just as awesome!
Their deli sandwiches are also super fresh and perfect amount of meat to cheese to bread ratio.
The food at John Moore’s is just the best and they always have it ready exactly when they say they will. Cater your next party with them, I promise you will be happy if there are leftovers!

Some of the food here is great but I found anything I get with chicken on it is not as good as I would expect it to be. Their chicken is just very dry and hard to eat. When it’s busy, it becomes very unorganized. They should really take names or call out numbers for orders when it starts to get busy.

Great quality food. Had the Johnny X hero. It was great and fresh. The young lady that served me was friendly and made a great sandwich. I will be back.

I used them to cater two family parties. The prices are reasonable, and their food is very good. Our guests complimented the sandwiches and salads they provided. Their staff was very pleasant and easy to work with. I would like to try some of their other, more elaborate, catering options in the future.

Great breakfast! My Egg sandwich was delish! Wide selection of muffins. Bagels look great too.

I’ve been eating at this place since it was Boswells. Loved everything I’ve ever had. They’ve got great specialty sandwiches. Breakfast is great as well. Everything they make is full and hardy, I’m never unsatisfied.
Would like to see some sort of lunch specials or coupons one day, if there are already they’ve never caught my attention.
Beware though, this place can get a solid line around lunch time for school.
Staff is usually pretty friendly, typical deli staff. Sometimes you get the person that just seems to hate his day completely, but that happens anywhere.
Always a great choice, can’t go wrong.

Would not recommend. Actually, I created my Unilocal account just to write this review. I’m tired of the good reviews for bad places. I had the «late for work» which is a chicken, cheese, bacon and gravy. It was awful. I also order a salami and cheese, the bread was old and there was a pound of salami and literally one piece of cheese. $ 15, don’t wast it.
