Turbo Tax is a rip off. Its interface is cumbersome and way to expensive. They wanted $ 120.00 for filing services. I used Tax Act, which was $ 48.00; took me half the time compared to using turbo tax. I really hope that turbo tax goes out of business for their greed.

Why cant I leave a zero star review. They really dont even deserve one star. First they over charge me for a service I multiply replied no to. Then when I ask to be called by customer service I get an automated voice that tells me to press 3 if I have resolved my issue (which I havent). It asks me again to dial 3 if I have fixed the problem (still have not) and then thanks me and hangs up. H&R block was the same advertised price and so much easier, no scams behind it. DO NOT USE, GO W H&R BLOCK.

As others have said, TurdboTax lures you in with promises of free or cheap returns, then upsells you (more like blackmails you) into upgrading your product until, before you know it, you are looking at more than $ 100 to file a return. A return you can’t even print! And that is only available for 6 months after you file. The next year, you pretty much have to start over unless you lay out a bunch more money. A complete and total scam.

It cost me over $ 100 to do my taxes with Turbotax. Need I say more

Terrible product. Many many bugs with it. Unable to do taxes with the software because it would not ‘delete’ information or made it impossible to change information. Will never use TurboTax again. Beware! Stay away!

I love that whomever created this used the address as «1 Good For Nothing St.» That’s hysterical.
Anyway, I’ve used Turbo Tax for a few years. I finally had a situation in which I had to call to ask for assistance and that was a painful experience. After that I decided not to use them ever again. I submitted a request that they call me (random day in February), and it said it would be a 35 minute wait for that call. Finally they call and a guy transferred me to another rep, in which I sat on the phone waiting 50 minutes and counting before I got a rep. She couldn’t answer my question and offered to transfer me to someone else. I asked her how long it would take since it took me over 50 minutes to get to her, she said it would also take an hour. When I scoffed at that, she suggested that I call back in the morning. I was like– uh no– I have a job and can’t spend hours on hold waiting to speak to someone.
Long story short, what is the point? I am here waiting hours to complete my taxes and it cost a similar amount to H&R Block, with a real live person in front of you, so why not just do that?

Very long story shortened. Last year the price went up from the time I logged on to the time I paid (same day). This year same thing except I held off paying till I spoke to someone. I was instructed to pay and they would credit me. Rep put me on hold and never came back. I took a screen shot of my phone — on hold for 2 hours and 26 minutes. When my phone lost it’s charge I was finally forced to hang up. Next year I will use their competition!

I’ve used Turbo Tax since about 1991. Once the taxpayer info is set up, it’s only logical to keep using the same pgm every year. Aha, but it requires NEW software every year.
Well, it seems like each year, they take my $ 40 or $ 50 to replace the software I used ONE TIME last year. And each year, there is SOME kind of snag or error that requires a dreaded phone call to support.
This year, they took out a couple features from the Deluxe package in order to force many Deluxe users to buy Premier– for $ 25 more. Then, with all the complaining, they backed down and offered a free «upgrade» to Premier (to get last year’s features back).
In trying to obtain the free «upgrade,» the software kept giving me error messages and telling me my internet connection was down (total BS). I called the 800 number it referred me to. Waiting, waiting… oh, for THAT application, I should call this OTHER 800 number. And so on. After four calls, I reached a rep overseas who gave me an upgrade code to unlock the problem software.
Now I’m too tired to input my data. Back at it again tomorrow. Why can’t they just make the process easier? And quit trying to extract so much money from us every year!

Used the app to do my taxes. The process was easy and fast and free. The app told me after 3 weeks when the government was done processes my tax return they were going to text me to see how i wanted my money sent to me. I was going to use the direct deposit. After three weeks i receive my tax return in the mail.

I searched all over for a place to shout my dissatifaction with Turbtax and this is all I could find. I have used turbotax for many years for all of my family members. Each year it seems to get worse. Changes on many things are virtually impossible. It seems to have a real problem with automobiles used in business. Also to have them take the charges out of the tax return they made me by some sort of Audit protection which appears to be about worthless. They are not up front about it and only after several attempts to file did I find out that if I didn’t pay the extra for the audit protection I couldn’t get the option to pay for their services from my return. Also since I was never able to make the correction to the error they said I had on my California return I had to eventually print it out and mail it in. A total waste of the fees I paid to file my California taxes through turbotax. Next year I will be looling elsewhere!

Perhaps this time someone, other than a machine or the so re-​directed «forums» of who knows who’s behind them answer to me. Because their answers to my question (1) was randomly picked to answer my question (as well as from many others millions like me) and gave me a vague answer that was not even a full answer or even 75% of an answer to my question and by who?
I don’t really know… their lack of real technical support was so noticeable by far after months waiting and waiting on the real help and nothing but a lame forum that was not even accurately answered it.
Never, ever was given to me by a real person. So I assume their machine «reads» and answer my questions that «kind of fit» or sounds like mine as well as many millions more, but it wasn’t exactly a right one or a person to be able to explain or tell them my exact circumstances and get an accurate solution… Never.
3 years after their great ads and the looking good and user friendly service, I decided to use their so called «service» that made sense to me or (us) because their PROMISE YOU extra help for your question by a person/​agent if you needed and still no one ever answered it… and to make it worst I PAID THEM FOR THE «EXTRA» some (platinum service? I don’t recall the exact name, neither I want to no more) or a paid version of the basic service that it wasn’t free (because it wasn’t basic) and that was Okay with me, if it was what they said, that extra service supposed to do the technical support more personal, but IT IS NOT, what they said, and your money goes to their pockets and will never be refunded to you if something goes wrong.
Instead they will give you more links to forums and to IRS and of course more videos to more forums loops of eternal BS (how convenient) you work on those papers, use your computer and printer and ink and time and they supposed to help you with the promised «back up support» but they don’t really! and if you want to get your money back they will justify giving you more links with an AUTOMATED SERVICE to again the IRS, and IRS will give you a link to their video and they never had the time to answer (but at least they tell you ahead of time) and the «FAST» refund was nothing but…” molasses in winter time”… very slow that the name they use (TURBO? they said?) for me was nothing but an abandon case and cancellation of my service and lost of my money and more important of all (MY TIME AND START ALL OVER AGAIN AND MORE WAITING TIME)… and of course and well earned my distrust on them…
If you need more specifics ask me please. I’m not joking neither I’m a machine, but a person to tell them how big of a piece of shhh!!$%^&* they are… perhaps this time and this way I get their attention from a real person trying to explain me nicely their great outcome from other customers and. blah blah blah! Just to avoid my negative comment but again this negative comment was well earned by them… just a word of advise DON’T FEED THIS CAPITALIST PIGS and think twice before you use their service, ask about their customer service (by a person not a forum, or video recorded tutorial) but much better and highly recommended:
Take your taxes to your local library where you talk to a real person (in my case the nice old people from AARP) who actually knows what their doing face to face, and really FREE!! Not their «Catch 22 Free»
I waited there (at the library) a couple hours to be helped and 2 weeks later to get my refund which is much less that 2 years (you do the math but I doubt you need to do this)
I got helped by great experienced people, not dummies and crappy forums of playing behind the scenes B.S. GREAT AD HERE (Posted on their web page) happy guys and hot chicks also getting their refund and lots of money and more hot chicks (sex sales right?) but with a wrong and HORRIBLE SERVICE!
This can’t be ever be a «LIKE» Ever in facebook and If I can rate MINUS STARS THEY COULD WIN MINE big time… Sincerely A.P.
