As a student with a tight budget, the $ 12 trims here are such a great deal for me. Many people seem to not realise that this is a school, so the cuts take a bit longer because they have to get approval by their instructors and show the final result, but I prefer that because the stylists seem to be more careful with your hair than they typically are at professional salons, and I’ve gotten some of my consistently best haircuts here,

I had a coupon for a free cut here, which I only discovered when I went in was for a Student Cut. I had no problem with this as I’ve LOVED the Student Cuts i’ve gotten at other T&G salons, but wish the receptionist would’ve told me when I called ahead to budget at least 2 hours! The gal who did my hair was very sweet but spent almost 30 minutes just brushing it. During this time, I watched a stylist nearby mess around with her own hair and and nails, gossip about a few co-​workers, and go out for a smoke. not exactly classy or professional. I wanted a minor trim in the back, and my stylist wound up cutting one side way, way shorter than I’d wanted. Mercifully, she’d pinned up the layer above and it hid most of the damage. The worst thing about the cut was that my stylist had not one, not two, but THREE different ‘instructors’ stopping by to give their opinion. With all previous Student Cuts I’ve gotten, the same instructor works with the same stylist so that the client gets a consistent haircut — it’s not rocket science! My poor stylist was all over the place thanks to 3 different opinions, and me eventually telling her «it’s fine, just leave the rest». Not surprisingly, I had a parking ticket from the cut taking an hour longer than anticipated. No thanks.

Great school and student clinic. I’ve enjoyed the very friendly service and students while getting my hair cut at T&G.
It is a student clinic so they are still learning but every time I’ve been in they have done a great job.
Their Tigi products are awesome, especially their men’s line it’s been the best hair product for me. I hope this review helps!

I can’t understand why they keep getting such a bad rap on Unilocal?I saw Malissa there and she really took her time cutting my hair. There was an instructor that came over three different times during the cut to check on it. They were all super nice too. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and Malissa nailed it. I will definitely be back!

I’m on a tight budget, and $ 45 for all over color and foil highlights is beyond do-​able for me. Everyone I have gone to were friendly, helpful, and super nice. I love the energy in this place! I would rather go here than spend $ 120 for it elsewhere!

For the price and quality — it is by far the BEST deal in town. I have had 4 haircuts and 2 hi-​lites/​color done over the last year at this salon and have never been disappointed — each time with a different stylist!

Do not go here!!! They fried my hair and then tried to charge me $ 40 for it. When I asked the istructors to write down what was done to my hair so I could get it fixed else where they refused. Beware!!! These people have no character!!! Very shady place!!!
