Why would we drive from West Seattle to Fairhaven/​Bellingham to buy jewelry? Because Russ can be trusted to be a very reputable and resourceful jeweler! We’ve purchased wedding bands (twice, because we couldn’t make up our minds what we wanted), a custom ring and other smaller pieces. His prices are fair, his customer service is excellent and it’s worth the 2 hour + drive just to visit The Silvery Moon. We came to this pretty part of Bellingham to find some food originally and we ended up doing some shopping and walked into this place. We were greated by Russ, the owner, who created great conversation while we were looking at his store and all the interesting piece’s of jewellery he had. It is a big store for one guy to watch, and he was great at letting my partner try on anything she wanted, and showed us some real cool jewellery, including the ‘cat’s eye’ which changed color in the light. He even allowed her to walk outside to prove his point of the magical changing color stone he had. It was a real relaxed way of shopping and we found a ring that we liked, but had to think about it. He gave us his business card, wrote down everything about the ring, and said if we ever wanted it, give him a few days warning and he can have it at his store for us to pickup. He even called one of the manufacturer’s of an item we were looking at, and made sure they had the correct size just to make sure he could deliver on his promise.
I kept the card in my wallet, and a week later we decided we wanted the jewellery piece. Spoke to Russ over the phone who remembered us right when I spoke to him. Communication was just awesome, he kept me in the loop through email, and we were able to get the item 2 days after calling him. Russ tells you the time frame depending on the item, mine was 2, it’s just depending if you run into any of those holiday weekends, and since he knows that I’m coming from the border he makes it easy. If your ever in Fairhaven, drop by this jewellery shop, to look around, browse, get a different take on some jewellery pieces as he also brings in many exotic rocks from different places, and can customize things too, like if you see a nice ring there and you have your own diamonds. The prices are really good here, and we didn’t expect to find anything when we walked in, and somehow we ended up returning. I would definitely recommend Russ, and also if you need some info on where to eat in Fairhaven he will tell you where to go!
