The Foundry – Bellingham Makerspace

The Foundry — Bellingham Makerspace is a workshop space for inventive, creative people. I was looking for a place for my son to learn 3D modeling and I learned this has so much more. He took the course and enjoyed it, and I participated in a «Day of the Dead» skull embellishing workshop. They also have 3D printing, laser cutters and a woodshop. I think what impressed me most about the place was the willingness of the staff and volunteers to help you out. I intend to go back and learn how to make wood ornaments with the laser cutter. As a woman, I felt really at home here — the owner, Mary, is really helpful and enthusiastic and overflowing with cool ideas. There is a charge for being a member here, but I would say it’s worth it, but you can also take lots of workshops that do not require membership.
