A must-see in Fairhaven. They have so many different kinds of candy — new, «old», foreign, you name it. They also have a huge selection of salt-water taffy at great prices. Pretty solid ice cream selection as well. The owner is very nice and friendly too. Can’t wait to come back and stock up on taffy!

A nice little candy store. A wide selection of salt water taffy, jelly beans, chocolates and other sweet treats. Good ice cream too, limited delicious flavors.

Came in for a refreshing beverage on a warm afternoon and my immediate impression was, «Did this business just open?» The shelves were quite bare with various candies dispersed on the walls. Needless to say, and there was a lot of empty space. There was a small ice cream cooler and a soda counter in the back. The owner greeted us and was very friendly and after some small conversation, it turns out they’ve been open for a few years. Anyway, we just ordered a watermelon italian soda and the owner made it a point to mention they use«Monin» syrup which is France… how fancy! I’m not well versed in flavored syrup, but I can tell you this was a tasty drink — brought me back to middle school where itailans soda’s made you feel fancy. On the way out, I bought a few pieces of carmel — which the owner claimed is «the best caramel you’ll ever have in your life… backed by a money back guarantee.» I am also not an expert in caramel candy, but I did enjoy it — they had a nice balance of salty/butter/sweet. It was a pleasant experience and the owner is extremely friendly and personable.

My wife and I wondered into this store on your honeymoon while visiting the Old Fairhaven District of Bellingham. We found a really nice selection of sweet treats and we met the owner. In the store there is an area where people are encouraged to play music as well as sing. If you do not play an instrument the owner has a large selection of music you can sing to. We tried the a special salted caramel called Fleur de Sel that was out of this world. Caramel that DID not stick to your teeth and just a hint of salt made this caramel divine. My wife and I came back a few days later to purchase some of these caramels before leaving town as well as some Papa’s Coffee Bark made with dark chocolate and coffee. Worth your time and well worth a visit if you either live in Bellingham or you are in town for a visit.

Loved this funky find in Fairhaven! My girlfriend and I stopped in and shared some chocolate coffee bark while walking around the downtown. Chocolate…devine! Owner was knowledgable and just great to hang out and talk to! Love the musical instruments around the shop… and the invitation to play! We’ll definitely be back!

Awesome shop! «Papa» was incredibly kind and informative about all of the candy making processes. He also loves music and has instruments for musicians to jam on in store! I would recommend this place to anyone going through Bellingham, WA which is just the coolest town anyways!

SHOUTOUTFROMCANADA! I Stumbled across this little gem of a store on the way back from Seattle when we stopped in Fairhaven for lunch. The owner was soo knowledgeable and friendly it was amazing, offering samples of things that I was interested in and I must say the made in house chocolate bark was heavenly! but what really made me melt was the«sel de fleur caramels» the owner told me that they were the kind of caramel that«once in you mouth you don’t wanna talk» and OMG he could not have been more right this will be on my «Must stop see list» when I travel to and from Seattle Your passion for your craft is infectious :)

The owner/proprietor was one of the most passionate, dedicated, friendly, and awesome small business owners I have ever encountered. He is very enthusiastic about his products and the quality of the candy definitely shows. I had made a small purchase, but the sea salt topped caramels were absolutely heavenly, and my eyes literally rolled back in my head as I stood there and ate it in the shop. The owner asked if I played any instruments, and I had mentioned I played the guitar poorly. He joked he had never heard of that particular instrument :-) and offered to let me play around with the guitar he had in shop. He also had a huge freestanding bass. I would make this a must stop on any trip to Fairhaven district, for sweets, fun, and friendly, eclectic conversation. Five well deserved stars.

THISPLACEISGREAT! I stopped in based on the previous reviews, and they hit the nail on the head. There aren’t many places out there where the owner will serenade your group with a saxophone solo. They should rename the business«Saxual Chocolate» The chocolate is amazing, the milkshakes are really unique. The owner(David) is always around, and is passionate about his business, music, and life. I wish more owner/operators had the«Papa’s Zest» both for their customers, and in the product they provide. A must stop for locals or travelers. He is part of a group of owners that are really bringing the flavor back to Fairhaven.
