Laura’s Alteration &tailor Express

I have used Laura’s for 3 different alterations and have been very pleased all three times. The first item they repaired for me was a snag on an intricate black cardigan. The tailor warned me that a repair seam would be visible but I took my chances and had her repair it. It came out great! The repair seam is barely visible within the intricate designs of the cardigan. The second item I took was a pair of jeans that needed the waist taken in. Again, great results. And then just yesterday I took in my teenage daughter’s favorite jeans that had a broken snap. The tailor replaced the snap while I waited, and for a reasonable price. Since the shop is located inside Bellis Fair mall, they can often work on something for you while you shop. It’s very convenient!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have been going to Laura’s for 6 years now and have never had anything but great service, until now. I took two pairs of pants in 2+ weeks ago to be hemmed. A week later I went in to pick up and they were not done. I was told to come back in 15 minutes, I went back 3 times over the course of an hour plus and once finally done they were done wrong. There were two hems: one yellow like the originaI and one two inches above. The employee proceeded to argue with me that it was correct. I asked for the manager and could only get a phone number. I spoke to the manager immediately and she seemed willing to fix the issue but not until the day before Thanksgiving. Went in a 3^rd time and the owner argued with me that that is how they do it. Again not what I wanted… She offered to fix it but not until after the holiday. Was supposed to be done on Saturday and received a call they wouldn’t be done on time again. Picked them up today and it is finally done but the work is horrible. The seam is crooked and while taking out the second seam the fabric was snagged a bunch. Horrible customer service and horrible job… Will never go back. Thank god it was jeans and not something important like my wedding dress.
