Absolutely a wonderful salon! Both my teen girls and I go there. Mikaela is wonderful (as well as the other stylists) — she can look at any picture and cut it perfectly for you. She is also a coloring WIZARD and does amazing work… won’t do more than your hair can handle… very smart and knows her stuff! Everyone here is caring and sweet. I saw the owner (Glen?) styling a wig for a cancer patient… FOR FREE! These are good people who genuinely care about their clients. Prices are the same if not better than other salons around ($ 35 for cut and $ 75+ for color… but cuts go down $ 25 if combined with color). Awesome salon… DO NOT HESITATE!

After years of frustration while searching for a stylist in Vancouver, BC I expanded my search to Bellingham and I’m so glad that I did. Patty at Harbour Moon Salon is by far the best stylist I found in a long long time, I finally don’t have to settle for wearing my hair up in a clip. I’ve never received so many compliments and have referred Patty to so many people.

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Vanessa for years and she is terrific. She’s great at helping you understand what your hair will and won’t realistically do and also gives great tips about how to style once you get home. She is so open to feedback as she cuts or feel free to say «a little shorter please». I have wavy/​soft curly hair and she knows how to cut it so it looks great in curls or straight. She is funny and a great listener but isn’t too chatty if that is not your thing. Prices are very reasonable and I always leave so happy!
UPDATE 3÷20÷2015: Sadly, Vanessa is no longer in the Bham area. I have started seeing Mikaela and she is terrific. A true expert and professional at hair care. She is delightful and fun while being dynamite with the shears. Mikaela is 5 stars!

I love this salon. It has the best view of any salon in Bellingham, being right on Squalicum Harbor. The atmosphere is fun and happy and you don’t have to pay in the hundreds for a cut and color. I go to Patty. She is creative and stays current on all the new products and looks. She can do Brazilian Blow Out and she uses INOA hair color which does not use harsh chemical. I have my color done with the INOA and the texture and color look so natural.
I have been to so many salons in Bellingham and this one is my favorite.

Best salon I’ve been to in Bellingham. Not pretentious, but *amazing* quality and honesty. Wonderful experience.

Glen is my cut guy, and I gotta tell you: Awesome. He is very good at the fundamentals of shape and style, and won’t steer you wrong in the care of your tresses. He will tell you the truth about your hair if you let him! *And* tell you how to fix it. Glen is also *very* talented at eyebrow waxing, a good conversationalist, funny, and smart.
A personal story: I knew Glen from when he worked at a diff salon with my previous cut and backup chemical stylist. While he didn’t have a lot of experience with my hair type, he was honest and upfront with me and I placed myself in his hands. It turned out FABULOUS.
The atmosphere is better is calming and serene, with gorgeous views of the bay. I would defintely call in advance, as you’re unlikely to snag a last minute appointment. Also, the price is definitely right, so don’t undertip!
