Taqueria Zavala No. 3

There is a great place, been move for San fernando valley and find this great place, I’m just recomend 100%, customer service is awesome, that cashier and waitress make the breakfast be happy on sunday.

This place is always on point. Awesome food and great customer service. The carne asana tacos are the best I’ve ever had.

Been here a Handful of times and never been disappointed. This morning I stopped by to try the menudo it was pretty good, the great part about it was it was packed with meat and had a really nice chunk of tendon. The only bad thing was my girl gave me some of the chilaquiles she ordered and then I regretted not ordering those.

Best damn tacos this side of the border! Everything I’ve tried here has been amazing. Service is great and it’s a twice a week kind of place for me. Tends to get busy at times but well worth the wait.

Seriously so bad. The meat was really, really dry. The tacos were just meat inside of a corn tortilla. No pico de gallo, no cilantro, no moisture, no taste. The beans were dry and had a crusty texture and the rice was hard and clumpy. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is the coconut flan was pretty good. However, they dont make it there, they get it from a supplier in long beach so I am not sure they deserve any credit for it. I will never be back to this disgusting disappointment again.

This place has some of the best tacos around. The shells are hand made and not those thin frail tortillas that other places sell. I’ve had the huevos rancheros which is pretty good, the chorizo and eggs, and my favorite thing item to get has to be the posole. It never fails and it is made fresh everyday. Everyone is so nice and attentive here. This place is definitely a cool small place to come when you just want to chill. It can get very busy and the small parking lot can get super full but it’s worth it every time.

The asada is seasoned very well, and the tortillas are hand made. Definitely better than a overly crowded king taco. The only con I have for this place is the salsa, it’s watered down and it takes away from the tacos. If you’re in the mood for tacos come here, you won’t be disappointed.

Home made tortillas and bomb food. You cant get any better than that !!
Oh and if you order the Asada dinner, they give you ALOT of asada.
All meat and everythng is always fresh.
My only complaint is … I ordered a asada burritto and the beans were ice cold. This happened about 3 different times to me… Other than that the food is fresh n good !! No hard little crunchy pieces of asada in the burrito, u know from mixing old meat with new meat and keep cookin it and it gets hard. None of that here.

The two main reasons why I decided to stop into Taqueria Zavala are: 1.) I wanted to try a restaurant that I have never been to before. 2.) King Taco in Bellflower was super crowded. It was busy but not like King Taco. I ordered a 3 taco plate with beans and rice and a mulita. The tacos had birria while the mulita had tripe. I learned upon arrival that Taqueria Zavala had much more meat choices than King Taco and the food came out quicker even though they make their items fresh to order. They handmake their own tortillas which is a huge plus! The customer service was excellent and the food was delicious! The tacos also have more meat than the ones at King Taco. Parking can be better but is available on the street and in adjacent neighborhoods. If you are thinking about King Taco but don’t want to deal with the crowd, make Taqueria Zavala your first option.

This was just a horrible experience. I ordered a carne asada burrito plain, mulitas rancheras combo and a taquitos combo. I didn’t get what I paid for. They brought me a burrito with chile, one asada mulita by itself and one soft taco with beans and rice. I told them that they got it wrong. The lady tried blaming me saying it’s how I ordered it and proceeded to try and make me think I was wrong. After some back and forth, I told her I wanted my money back. She then sent her coworker to get the original food which my party already started eating. I was so surprised that she was going to take their food halfway eaten already. She then wanted to charge me more for the rest of the items. I said no and to just give me my money back for my screwed up order. I won’t be coming here again. So sad.

Their wet burritos are absolutely amazing! Worth just going there for that item alone, that’s what we usually do! I like their burrito ranchero, really good. My daughter tried asada quesadilla, also really good. Huge portions! Call to pre-​order if you’re doing a take out. They do get kinda crowded around lunch/​dinner time.

They lost a few key employees and since the service has really suffered. I frequented this place at least 3x’s a week. Im sad that its gotten so bad so quickly. I tried this last time, waited a half hour for a to go burrito, i had to leave and go back for it later in the day because my lunch ended before my burrito was done. Frustrating

I live right across the street so I’m glad I have a close go to Mexican good spot. The customer service is always welcoming. My go to favorites are:
–the shrimp cocktail tostadas: they give you a lot of shrimp, the cocktail has that ketchup taste which I love.
–torta de asada– sooo much goodness and flavor. Asada, white cheese, tomato, avocado, lettuce. You can fries to this which I recommend.
— mulitas combo with the green sauce– so tasty, this is a sharable plate.
–huarache de asada– asada, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, beans, all of a handmade thick tortilla of massa.

This is my favorite taco spot around my home. They have hand made tortillas!! I recommend the carne asada tacos and mulitas. Oh and the green sauce, you must try.

Went for the first time. Ladies that took our order were super nice. The food was delicious. I ordered a mulita (carne asada) wow! And also ordered the flautas (2 shredded beef, lots of meat!) omg! They are huge!!! Very good. We also ordered 3 tacos (2 tripas, so good just the way we like them, we asked well done, crispy. And 1 taco de cabeza) my son was Very vocal about them being very good! Definitely coming back.

OK quick, past due update. Guess I hit them on a bad night on the first visit. But now that I’ve moved away, I miss the hell out of these guys.
I love, love LOVE their machaca burritos. I’ve been extremely happy with everything I’ve ordered there (after my initial visit). They even opened their doors to me after I showed up after closing time (as misrepresented by Unilocal info… I’ve since corrected their hours).
They’re all super cool people and yes there’s that one lady that belts out, singing along with the Spanish music; I will miss her too.
These guys are awesome. Try them out!

Handmade tortillas. Perfectly cooked meat.
I had a burrito de lengua (cows tongue). It’s the best lengua I’ve had in years! The salsa in the burrito is not spicy so ask for spicy salsa if that is what you’re into. Otherwise, it is perfectly flavorful without it. Be advised that the salsa has onions in it. Burritos have beans and rice also.
They sell traditional Mexican flavored water (horchata, jamaica, etc) and Mexican soda. The kind that comes in tall glass bottles!
The venue is simply a small place next to a strip mall. You can see the sign from Somerset but the parking lots are together so you have to look for the actual establishment. There’s a handful of tables outside and a few on their patio which is nicely mostly shaded. I prefer take out though.

This review is long overdue. I’ve eaten here many times w/​my man (who introduced me to this authentic Mexican restaurant) because the food is just so damn good! Simple as that. They hand make their tortillas daily. Which ensures that they’re always soft and fresh. That alone right there is praise worthy. In addition, their carne asada tacos are bomb. Such great flavor in that meat they so lovingly prepare. My man recommends getting the tacos with cheese (I absolutely agree). Just wanna say, I can definitely eat my share of these. Their chips and salsa are good too (if u are a spice lover. This salsa is definitely worth trying. Not for the faint of heart tho). And I love their drinks too (piña and horchata). Another notable mention about this place is their salsa section. Both red and green salsas are great (I just happen to be in love with their green salsa). They have big buckets of lemons, radishes, cilantro/​onions and if you’re lucky, u might be able to snag some of their deliciously tangy, pickled carrots, onions and jalapeños. They’re constantly running out of these and it’s not hard to see why. In addition to all this, you might even get lucky enough to be serenaded by one particular server.
This place is run by Mexicans and they definitely don’t have a shortage of Hispanic customers (I don’t know about you, but that’s a pretty good testament to their authenticity). It’s hard to find delicious, Mexican fare that tastes like it was made south of the border. So if u find yourself in the mood for delicious, no-​nonsense fare w/​flavor and flare. Give this place a try! I’ll definitely be back. Thank u Mr. Sloan. ;)
