Came here at 4:41pm when they close at 5pm. I understand wanting to close up and go home early as possible after a long day of work but I walk in and ask for a menu and the guy just looks at me and says«yes?» I ask for a menu and he says«no.» No? I asked him, «No more food.» He replies. Okay… Thanks. Always down to try hole in the wall places and support local businesses but you only get one chance to make a first impression.

We’ve been ordering BBQ from them for quite some time now. My mom placed an order today 02/01/2013 for 30 pieces. When we check them, the portions are small and we didn’t get 30 but 28. The funny thing is that they raised the price this year. My mom called the place after she saw how small the portions were. The owner denied it. We decided to buy another batch from the other franchise to prove our point. Indeed, we got bigger portion from Kainan sa Kanto Cypress than Kainan sa Kanto Downey location. It’s not cool to be scamed. You’re patronizing the place because you think you’ll get the best quality for your money. I wouldn’t order from this place ever again. Save yourself some trouble.

I have been back a couple times since my last review. Food is good, it keeps bringing me back. However, there is a new younger lady that works the counter when I go, and she is not as skilled in the customer service dept. The older lady that used to be there was better. I would have given them another star for greater food, but it is minus one star for the poor customer service. It cancels and leaves them with the same 3 star rating from me. More yummy food that I tasted: kare kare, pusit, munggo, lechon kawali. All very good. :)

Awesome Pan de Sal — soft and good by itself. They last for a week and stay soft. Try to get them when they’re fresh from the oven.
