I purchased a pair of pants at their store in California, I got back and the butt pocket ripped after 3 times of wearing the pants. I took them to the Seattle store to exchange them for a new pair. They did, but tried to charge me $ 25. for the hem. I don’t see the logic… I already paid to have the first pair hemmed once… why do I have to pay again? I got them back and everything seemed fine. I wore the pants 2 times, and the butt pocket ripped on them again. I take them to the Bellevue store and just want a new pair. The lady tells me there was the recall on the early model(which is what I had both times), and the problem of them ripping is fixed. Then, the other lady tells me that I need my receipt for the exchange at the Seattle store. I don’t have this, but it was only the receipt that I had exchanged them. This is after the other lady admits she knows my model is defective. I call and email corporate twice, until the manager at the Bellevue store calls me and tells me I can exchange them for a brand new pair no problem. Then I drive all the way back, and get the new pair. They are un-hemmed, and I’m still out another $ 15 to get them hemmed locally, but at this point, I just want the pants. I suggest going to Nordstrom because they don’t ask any questions if you have an issue, and they take care of problems on the spot. They also don’t charge to get a $ 200 pair of pants hemmed. The after sales service of True Religion just isn’t so great, and has made a big hassle out of what could have been an easily taken care of situation.

If you’re a fan of pretentious sales staff(even by Bellevue standards) and an über-rigid return policy, this is your place. The standard return policy is 7 days and they extend an extra 2 – 3 weeks during the holiday. But no more. I got confused myself because the website says 21 days but learned the hard way that only applies to what is purchased online. Even though I was only a couple of days past the cut off, they wouldn’t budge. While I wasn’t terribly unhappy with what I was forced to keep, the attitude I was given and the refusal to offer any kind of flexibility has permanently soured my taste on this brand and anything they sell in their stores. I realize the fine print wasn’t on my side and I should have paid closer attention. But I think their policy and the short-sightedness of treating customers this way will eventually haunt them(at least I hope it will). But if you have to have their clothes, I’d strongly recommend buying from Nordstrom instead… unless you never make the mistake of changing your mind.
