I hate bad reviews but this was one of the worst teriyaki places I’ve had since moving to Seattle 5 years ago. I eat teriyaki on a weekly, I loved Toshi’s that was in downtown Renton(since closed) and another in the highlands. Moving to Bellevue I’m with in a block of walking here. I ordered the spicy chicken and pot stickers and the chicken was so bland it tasted like paper and the pot stickers were so burnt it was unedible and came out looking like a box of coal. I haven’t been back since but it always seems to have people there so maybe it was a bad day. I won’t be back however, Teriyaki Bowl is where I go now.

Amongst the throng of teriyaki eateries clamoring for the attention of the casual patron, Toshi’s does not at first distinguish itself from the crowd. Based on looks alone, my guess is that many people bypass it altogether, because it’s small, not the cleanest, and stuck in the middle of an aging strip mall. My wife and I checked this place out, and were immediately drawn in by the smoky aromas in the air. The lady behind the counter was friendly, and made everything fresh for us. We ordered the chicken yakisoba and the chicken and broccoli combo, along with a side of egg rolls. Waiting about five minutes for our food, we perused the bulletin board, on which were posted all sorts of notices, from the arts, to science exhibits, to local events. Once we received our food, we headed home, to find that the egg rolls were crunchy and fabulous, the yakisoba was scrumptious, and the chicken and broccoli was delicious! No complaints from us; we’ll be going back!

I don’t get what everyone is complaining about — yes, you get skewers of steak when you order beef teriyaki and they are NOT small! They are solid chunks of beef, pretty decent in size and they are much better than any dried out beef teriyaki you can ever order. If you like them thin sliced and dry then that’s on YOU, don’t go around accusing other people’s restaurants of not meeting YOUR sheltered idea of what something should be. There are more than one way to do teriyaki, so keep an open mind. The woman who owns this place is my favorite, she’s super sweet and super accommodating to special requests. I love the beef teriyaki and the half chicken and if you order them together, there is easily enough food for 2 people which is awesome if you’re in a sharing mood or have one for lunch and the rest for dinner! HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

I don’t know why the lames are giving this lady bad reviews, this is the best teriyaki in the damn state IMO. This is real Japanese teriyaki.

I only came here because I LOVETHEKIRKLANDTOSHI’S TERIYAKI and thought it would be the same, but NO. The ABSOLUTEWORSTKATSU I have ever had in my life… Pan fried katsu, really? And small portions? And no flavor? And hella greasy? And the smallest katsu sauce serving? And gross slaw salad? Anddd you were directly touching food AFTER handling money and not washing your hands!!! EW. NOTHANKYOU. What a waste of my $ 8.24.

I got the chicken katsu, it was decent. I saw two people come in and order: one had a half chicken and the other had the sirloin skewers — both were served in 2 – 3 min; If you’re looked for something fast might be worth it but otherwise not impressed.

The worst, pathetic, awful, terrible, and every other word you could think of to describe the garbage I was served. I paid 8 bucks and got coleslaw not salad that was served out of a big bin sitting in the kitchen, two super small skewers on a tiny ass thing of rice. I really enjoy my teriyaki and this was hands down Pathetic.

This is the worst food ever! I didn’t think anyone could screw up chicken teriyaki this bad! Tasteless, old over cooked chicken with a thimble sized container of teriyaki on the side! Do yourself a favor and eat at the burger joint next door instead.

I got a Yakisoba. It was not a Japanese style Yakisoba exactly, but the spicy taste was really delicious. This restaurant is small so most of the people ordered a food to go. The price range is almost between $ 7 and $ 9. From the price and taste point of view, this restaurant is good enough for my(and hopefully your) regular meals.

Amazing food. Omg! Their portion is so big. Get the #12 combo! Their chicken is so tender and the flavor is to DIE for. Solo yummy!!!

GREAT cuts of meat. I order the chicken and beef w/brown rice. Meat comes skewered and is grilled bbq style. The lady running the place if awsome, ive caught her twice upon closing and she insisted on me placing a order. Over all quality

Would give NO Stars if possible. I just paid almost 8 dollars for a beef and chicken combo which turns out to only be 2 small skewers with 3 small pieces of chicken and 3 small pieces of beef. WTF? Also, it took her only 3 min to give me my To Go box from the time I ordered and which during that time I could hear a microwave. This place is an insult to every Teriyaki joint out there. STAYAWAY! Just found out that the place changed ownership and is now owned by a man name Ali. Co-workers of mine say that the place used to be an okay place for teriyaki prior to the ownership change. Sounds like the new owner is just out to make a quick buck and can care less about quality of the food he serves. This is a perfect example of restaurants with greedy owners.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review but in reading some of these I’m not sure folks have given them a fair shake. I’ve eaten at this place 5 times now and as long as I call ahead it’s quick, cheap, good, and I haven’t been poisoned yet. I get the spicy chicken and it’s a pretty big portion

#12 Half chicken with beef is the best. Ask«no salad but more rice» «salt & pepper on the chicken & cut it» This is my favorite lunch at downtown Bellevue.

4 stars for the food — I got the beef and chicken skewers and I was surprised that it was actually quite good after reading the reviews here. Chicken was all white meat and the beef was nice and tender grilled. Their meat is marinated and not served covered in teriyaki sauce. I like that style. I didn’t find it too sweet, I thought it was just right. 1 star for the food handling — Food handling was scary. An example was using same tongs to go from the raw bucket of chicken(while dripping raw chicken all over the floor) to flipping my skewers. Unfortunately the food handling will keep me from going back.

Quite possibly the worst teriyaki joint around. For $ 6.10 you get some rice and a couple skewers of dry chicken. Sadly there is no good teriyaki takeout joint in the DT Bellevue area.

Bleh. I was having a really desperate teriyaki craving whilst in a time crunch so I Unilocaled the nearest teriyaki place which unfortunately led me here. I absolutely hate it when chicken teriyaki is way sweeter than it needs to be. Hello, it’s teriyaki, it’s already kind of sweet, and there’s absolutely no need to sweeten it further. I forced myself to finish half of it because I was starving, but man, this was a bad experience. I even called ahead to pick up my order, and even with no other customers inside of the place I had to wait about 10 minutes. Will not return.

Not sure why this place has such poor ratings. I thought the food was alright and the employees were very nice. I had the hot and spicy chicken, the portions were generous. The inside was not much to look at, but that wasn’t why I went here, so no complaint there…

Only gets one star because we didn’t get food poisoning. Everything was pre cooked and bland. The teriyaki chicken was also precooked, then reheated over the gas flame. Rice was mushy. We were there July 2012, we won’t make the mistake of going back to that particular restaurant. Took a long time for the food as well, not sure why as it was all precooked. Yuck.

Warning: Not the usual teriyaki chicken you can expect there! I just want simple grilled chicken strips over steamed rice with teriyaki sauce on top. No, can’t find it there. Instead, all they have are beef, chicken or shrimp skewers over rice or ½ chicken(all bone in)… It was a big struggle to find what i want as this is what i didn’t expect… finally ordered hot and spicy chicken. Well, it is simply stir fry chicken and veggie with hot sauce and white pepper. Average taste, very peppery but good thing is full of veggie and not oiy. Not sure i want to come back. Not because of the taste just for simply unexpected style of teriyaki chicken.
