Really fast service, delicious food but some of the chicken seems like poor quality cuts.

I first found out about this place through my boss. He likes to order their California roll to go for lunch. My to go experience was great. Fast service. Great customer service, always prompt and timely. The food is pretty mediocre. Id stick to their teriyaki items and stay away from their bento. However, my dine in experience didn’t appease me. The place is a little small so if there are other people(usually is) there, feels like they can hear everything you’re conversing. I would definitely stop by for convenient drop in on to go items but I don’t see myself dining in here or calling it one of my favorite joints to eat at.

Pretty okay I had the tempura vegetables plate, and rice. Really not much more to say than just okay. Gets very busy at noon, and parking sucks.

Not a whole lot needs to be said. They were quick and the spicy teriyaki was delicious. The salad was also really really good. Plenty of food for the price.

Fast, good service. Great food! The teriyaki is delicious and I love their sushi. My husband gets their spring rolls and is addicted. I work down the street and I’m happy that this place is so yummy!

Awesome Teriyaki in Bellevue is hard to find, but this place rocks. Great lunch specials.

Food is great and authentic. Workers are nice. Prices are average. Would give 5 star if restaurant was cleaner.

Best teriyaki in Bellevue. Garlic chicken is their best dish, highly recommend it. And the guy behind the counter is friendly despite what you may read, just talk to him and he’ll open up.

It was alright, but not great. The guy at the counter lacked charm as others have mentioned.

If you are a frequent eater at teriyaki shops, you know that the personality of the employees varies from super friendly to indifferent. Teriyaki Express is on the far end of indifferent. The guy at the counter is not very friendly, barely recognizing you and never says thank you. The food on the other hand is really good and the portions are huge. On my first visit I had the standard chicken, with sauce that was not overly sweet. Most of the teriyaki places are overly sweet and too thick. On my second visit I had the crispy garlic chicken. This was pretty good too and had their«secret sauce». I’m not sure why everyone thinks this is a secret, I’ve been making the same sauce since I was kid. The salad is okay. They need to drain the lettuce so the dressing sticks to it. Parking can be tough since the place is popular with the locals. Remember if you are hoping to get a thank you from the guy at the counter, don’t count on it. If he was really grouchy it would be like a Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi. The food is good, the service is quick, just not friendly. That’s why I gave this place 2-stars.

Honestly my only complaint is that they never give me enough time to read more than a few pages of the comics and Manga they have next to the soda. Spicy chicken teriyaki is great, garlic sauce even better, salad fresh and the rice sticky. Get $ 10 and just go.

Our office just moved to Bellevue and the co-workers and I have been exploring the area looking for good food joints to check out. Tried Teriyaki Express a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce. The portions are generous and I would say the garlic sauce made the meal. So goood! My co worker was the one that picked up the order for us. She mentioned that the person taking the orders did not give good service. My boss went in the next day and said that same thing, which is why I have lowered my rating. Overall I am happy with this place and definitely plan on going back soon.

My first time visiting this place today for lunch. i am actually eatting it while i post hah! I got the fried rice and chicken teriyaki combo. Fried rice… ZERO flavor i pretty much just taste egg but the chicken is great! large portions for the price. Overall i am happy and i will be back but i won’t order the fried rice again thats for sure.

This teriyaki is delicious. Not just for Bellevue, but for all of Seattle. The sauce is perfect, the chicken is not too fatty, and the salad dressing is yummy(though there was way too much of it). I also had the gyoza and shrimp tempura, both of which couldn’t have been better. The cashier wasn’t too friendly, but I don’t expect much at joints like this. And while the food took a while, you could tell it was all freshly cooked and tried. Worth the wait & drive from downtown.

It’s nice to find a good restaurant in an industrial area mostly devoid of food options. The place overall is good and I’ve visited a number of times. The teriyaki and gyoza are great, and I just tried the chicken katsu and it was very good. I usually try to get sauteed items, but I’ve found the sauce on their chicken and vegetable sautee is too heavy and plentiful(while the teriyaki chicken has a perfect amount of light sauce). I’ve read on other reviews about the cashier. He’s not overly friendly, but he’s thorough, accurate and fast.

I come hear on my lunch and the chicken katsu is the bomb. They are very nice to me and they have cool dishes when you eat there. I will keep coming here on my lunch.

Could I have found this place without Unilocal or something like it guiding me? No way! My boyfriend was getting his car windshield fixed down the street(a lot of car shops in this area) and I was hungry, so I started searching for lunch. This was the closest restaurant to the shop and the reviews looked good, so I went searching for it. Took me a few minutes, but eventually I figured out where it was.(Left side of the road if you’re coming up 130th from Bel-Red.) When I walked in, I discovered that this place was packed with people who(probably) work in the area. Wonder if they send take-out menus to the near-by businesses or if people just tell all new employees about the local teriyaki spot. I was originally thinking about the $ 6.99 chicken teriyaki, but noticed that the specials(including chicken teriyaki & gyoza) were also $ 6.99, so I decided to go for the plate with more variety. A little more expensive than some other teriyaki places I’ve been to, but… they don’t really have any competition, so they could probably stay busy even if they charged a little more.(Not that I’m saying they should. ;)…) For $ 6.99 + tax, I got the standard small lettuce & dressing salad, two balls of rice, about 5 pieces of(fried) gyoza, and maybe about 7 pieces of chicken(in teriyaki sauce). The serving was large(easily big enough to satisfy two people) and the food was… what I expect from a good teriyaki spot. Not likely to visit again anytime soon because I don’t live or work in the area, but this is a good spot. I’m glad Unilocal helped me find it.

HUUUGEPORTIONS!!! This is a pretty good teriyaki joint. I got the a combination plate. I’m a small person, but I ate the whole thing. Heffff!!! I got the teriyaki chicken with shrimp tempura roll. It comes with a salad — yummmmy salad dressing — and rice. The shrimp tempura roll was different. Shrimp tempura sitting on top of a california roll. Usually the shrimp is inside the roll, but it was still good. Little difficult to eat with shrimp falling off, but tasty. I don’t think I’ve been to a teriyaki joint that made sushi. A tad bit pricey, but since portions are huge, it’s worth it. The restaurant itself is pretty standard. Pretty clean. Staff was friendly. They got my fiancé’s order wrong, but fixed it without any problem. And quickly. I felt like he should’ve kept what they brought out. I wanted it. Haha. Anyway, worth stopping in if you are in the area. I never am, but happened to be running errands with the fiancé.

I’ve been around town(literally) as far as teriyaki joints go, and this one wasn’t either the best or the worst. It was moderately priced, had a decent portion size, and a clean dining area. I ordered their teriyaki tofu, and they get four stars mainly cause they were able to carry out my request for steamed, not fried, tofu. It’s a huge plus for me because sometimes teriyaki places don’t have tofu(go figure), or they won’t serve it any other way than fried. I’m trying to be healthy(ish) so try and avoid fried goods. As far as taste goes, it was a bit on the bland side, but that was probably due to the rate at which I was inhaling it(I was damn hungry). I mean, it SMELLED wonderful, so it must just be that I wasn’t savoring the food(I was literally stuffing my face). I need to try other dishes to really determine if they are overall a good eats, but this starting point sure is promising!

Wow, I don’t know why haven’t written a review here before. I’ve come here soooo many times, it’s been one of the places my work goes to for lunch runs. Quick service, we usually call ahead and pick it up. The GARLICCHICKEN is definitely the winner here– chunks of fried chicken with a garlic glaze you pour on top. VERY tasty. The majority of employees ALWAYS get this dish. Garlic chicken would be my first choice too, but I try and limit my fried food intake. I’ve tried the yakisoba, chicken teriyaki, chicken and mixed veggies, and a variety of other dishes. All teriyaki comes with a salad and rice. You can substitute brown rice for 50 cents more and if you ask for no rice, I find that they actually give you a bit more of the main dish(at least this has been the case for the beef and broccoli and the chicken and mixed veggies). Prices are fair, around $ 8 for the garlic chicken after tax, regular teriyaki is cheaper. Skip the other«Asian» dishes like mongolian bf, etc. Stick the the teriyaki. Tasty, quick, and consistent. And they provide hot sauce to go!
