I take my son here frequently. This is one of the best barber shops around. Good people, great service. Suggestion: make an appointment.

This place is garbage! How do you go in for a beard line up and clean up and the barber screws it up? Ask these guys. I walked in and asked for a clean up and line up. Simple right? The barber then proceeded to ask me how I would like my lines. Fair question, so I said, «same lines everything stays connected. I would like it to keep it full.» As he was lining me up I noticed that he was taking down my beard to mid chin! I then stopped him and asked him and he said he was lining up my beard. The good part is they turn the chair around so you can watch tv and not see the screw up via the mirror lol. Apparently not only did he not understand a word I said but proceeded to do his own thing. When I called him out on it he started talking to me about the Seahawks! Wtf? I hate the Seahawks and could care less about them! At this point I had no choice but to let him finish the line up. Don’t get me wrong the line up was crisp but if you can’t understand or comprehend what the customer wants then you guys are better off being in a mall. It was probably my mistake to go to a «barber shop» in a mall in the first place. Ridiculous. Couldn’t want to get back home and let my barber fix this mess.

The worst barber shop ever. The babers are never on time and today is my last day ever dealing with them. Scheduled an appointment a week ago… showed up and the barber wasn’t there. They could care less though. Said he left… did I get an email or a call nope… most unprofessional brand in Seattle. There are plenty of other barbers you should go to before you go to these guys. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else you will be glad you did.

This review is for the CUSTOMERSERVICE: I was a walk in and brought in my toddler in hopes for getting a haircut(9⁄26 Saturday afternoon). We always go to Factoria mall and noticed that the place is always pack and their venue is attractive and clean. Their front desk lady that day was NOT welcoming and have this rude attitude. It seemed that she wasn’t busy at all when I approached her— there were no customers she was helping. I asked her if there is availability for the day and she said there was none and then that was it. I was waiting there with my toddler waiting for her to offer more«customer service», such as: helping me getting an appointment or if I have anymore questions. Then I did asked her about future appointments, and she said the Internet was down and I should do it online. So I said, sure I can do that… Can I have a business card? OMG— I was getting frustrated because she wouldn’t even be bothered to have a quick conversation!!! One of the barber gentleman, finally talked to me and gave me his card. Their front desk lady should have more training about treating people. As I read more reviews from this place, it seems that there are plenty of complaints over this front desk lady! I observed that the barbers were interactive and nice… Pls don’t lose customers over your front desk lady!!!

Came in for an appointment and there was confusion with the time. I was told by the very rude lady at the front desk that we were a half hour late and that they could not help us. All of the chairs were empty so not busy and not accommodating and extremely rude. Do not recommend!

Walked in, asked if they were taking walk-ins. Said there was one person ahead of us. All chairs full at that time. Then two persons were finished, and they just kept talking and not acknowledging the other folks waiting. Then, a guy who was there after us walked up to ask when he was going to get cut, and they took him first without even asking who was next. This was our first experience with this barber shop and we will NOT be back. Very horrible customer service, and horrible experience for a first time visiter. Try another local barbershop, not a risky dinky mall-shop.

I came in with my son because I am very particular about his hair and wanted someplace that I felt would do a quality job. He is only three and gets googly eyed at the gimmicky car and cartoon barbershop and salons but his was his first official out of the house cut and I wasn’t going to mess around. The entire staff was very professional and treated my little guy with respect. He felt very grown up and actually enjoyed it. Repeat customer for sure. Doc did a fantastic job.

I’m a somewhat atypical white dude, love to get lined up, really appreciate well done skin tapers, and I usually throw in some design on my hair too… All that said, it takes a skilled barber shop, and even more so an experienced barber with many different skill sets and abilities to get this type of haircut done in the way it is supposed to be done. I split time between the Bay area and Seatown, so I usually get my hair cut down in the Bay, where I drive 45 mins for my go to dude, but I was in serious need of a clean up while here in Seattle so I looked around Unilocal and found Standing On Top Barber Shop. The reviews lead me to at least give it a shot, and I had read a few reviews that included the best barbers for specific types of needs. This brings me to Careth. I had read how detail oriented he was and about his ability to expertly wield a straight razor(lost art these days), so I knew this would be the best choice for what I was looking for. I couldn’t care less how long a cut takes, I dont know why so many people want a specific look and then wanna trip when it takes an hour or more. All in all, I got one of the SICKEST cuts I’ve ever received, and its not a surprise to me since Gareth is originally from the Bay! Probably the most exact and evenly distributed skin taper I’ve ever had, the lines on the side and back were hella fresh and crisp too. The straight razor line up just put it over the top and to boot, dude can use scissors too! Top looked as balanced as possible. Thank you Careth and Standing On Top! I will be a regular from now on when I’m in Seatown.

I’ve very particular about my cuts and my barbershops. I’ve been known to drive 30min and wait an hour to get it done right. My cut has always been on point here. I will keep coming back. I’ve been to a lot of shops and many that specialize in cutting particular hair, black specifically are notorious for not actually acknowledging the idea of an appointment. I like Standing on Top because I can make an appointment online and be in and out in 30min or less with a cut or full lineup. Mike runs a perfect, tight shop and everyone there takes pride in their work!

Consuela is the business! I really appreciate the professionalism of this establishment, and the ease of making appointments via the internet. I’ve been to a few barber shops in the Seattle area, and haven’t received the service I received from SOT anywhere else in the city. Definitely a cut above the rest! Keep it up!

Careth and Jim are the only people I let touch my hair. High skin fade 1 ½ on top once a week, lined up. Everyone here is super cool and welcoming. Careth is a perfectionist and takes his time which is a good thing, but be patient it will take a lil longer. Let him do his thing. Jim is very talented and even uses a straight razor to line up the front. Julia– your husband is from New York so he is particular about his hair? Typical east coast pompousness. Us bumpkin Washingtonians sure reckon you New Yorkers could show us how to use a pair of scissors.

Pretty impressed and pleased with the service and the results. My 10 year old son wanted to «pick» out his own haircut design/style and because we were going to a barbershop(and not supercuts) he wanted to be able to make big boy decisions… We didn’t have an appointment — we were referred to Standing on Top from a friend, went in on a Saturday and they were packed! There wasn’t a single empty chair! We were greeted immediately at the entrance and was told that even though the barber we came to see was booked — he would fit us in anyway… Glad he did! My son loves his hair cut and so do I! Will be coming back for sure :)

Make sure you make an appt on weekends, they get busy. I just dropped in and had to wait, but that was ok with me. Good location and nice setup inside with lots of TV action! V happy with my cut, will be going back.

I enjoyed these guys. I came in with a picture of what I wanted(which was not an easy cut), and they cut it to perfection. Also added a line on the side of the cut. Looks really clean. The shop is cool, espn playing. The barbers are chill, it’s like a friend is cutting your hair. Again, my hair looks clean. These guys are good. Thanks for the cut Reuben.

My husband is from New York and is very particular about his hair cut. He’s been looking for a decent barber in the area for the last 5 years and has yet to find one. I told him to try this place because it seemed like they knew what they were doing since it was really busy. He went in on Sunday and I took my son to eat in the mall while he got the cut. When I saw him he turned around and had a huge gash on his neck. It wasn’t one of those little cuts you normally see, it was big and you can tell it had bled quite a bit. My husband told me he specifically asked for the guy to use a straight razor. He said the man didn’t use hot cream which led him to believe he didn’t know what he was doing. I’d have to agree, there is no way I’d ever pay for such a thing but my husband was charged and the man had the nerve to ask him for a tip! I was appalled, even if it was an accident a good shop would have offered a free cut or at least a discount. I’m glad I didn’t have them cut my sons hair two. I would be livid if they cut him like that. My husband was very disappointed and needless to say we will NEVER be going to this shop again!

I hate barber shop drama. That(and male pattern baldness) is one of the reasons I started cutting my own hair. Now I have a great option! So glad this shop is in place. For us eastsiders, it’s perfect! Nice cut for my 10 year old son, my wife likes her stylist and I can treat myself to a close cut! Good price, pleasant people. They also accept credit cards. Keep up the good work!!!
