Went in with an exchange(Christmas present necklace chain too long), and Amanda helped me through all of my indecisiveness on the right length, possible alternatives, available pendants etc, and was so kind and helpful! Really appreciated the time spent to find the right item for me!

This store has nice jewelry but it seems kinda over priced. I have purchased some nice things from here in the past but nothing to write home about. The main reason I don’t often purchase things from here is because you cannot return anything– it’s exchanges only(even during the holidays). I have very sensitive skin so the idea of purchasing something and not being able to take it back means I won’t be purchasing anything else from here. :( If they had a return policy(even, 7 days with receipts only) I would buy from here a lot more often.

Ehhh. 4 years ago I told myself I would never come back to this store. I had been planning to buy jewelry here for the girls in my bridal party, and came in with a coupon on my phone. This was before that had become the norm, but I thought I would check nonetheless, but not only was the manager not helpful, but she seemed to be really excited to be able to refuse me, like it gave her inner satisfaction. After behavior like that towards a customer who was gonna lay down some serious cash, I walked out and was determined that would be last visit. And it was, until a couple months ago when I was in Bellevue Square and really needed some sterling silver earrings to replace my basic pair which had corroded. I was in a rush, so I said screw it, it’s been years, lemme try this place again. I did end up buying a couple of things, but I won’t be going back. They are overpriced, they don’t have a great selection, and the shopgirls(which is an accurate term in this case), while being nice enough, don’t really seem to know their selection very well, and didn’t act particularly professional. Rather spend my money somewhere else.

We purchased a «green amethyst» ring for my daughter from the Bellevue Square store last summer. She loves it and wears it every day. Tonight, she noted that the setting had accumulated some dirt, so I offered to clean it for her. I dropped it into some commercial jewelry cleaner(essentially, Windex) for less than 60 seconds. Upon removing it, imagine my surprise to find a clear stone in place of the formerly light green one! I immediately conferred with my son(who will be pursuing a Ph.D. in chemistry this fall) and my husband(a UW scientist, and chemistry major in college). Both assured me that the only way this stone could change color in solution was if the green color was merely applied to the outside. In other words, it was not a green amethyst at all, but a clear stone with something painted on. As a control, we dropped pieces of genuine purple amethyst into the solution and they maintained their original color. Needless to say, I’m VERY disappointed. This ring was not inexpensive, and if the store chooses to sell cheap stones colored with dye, they should at least have advised not cleaning it using standard jewelry cleaning products. Now I’m going to have to go hash it out with the staff, and I suspect I will have an uphill battle being compensated. Stay posted.

When my 1st charge had cleared and the second one removed, I called the store to check on the shipping and to let them know about the double charge and she said ‘Yea, I remember that, we werent sure if the store near you had done the charge, or if we had, so we just ran it again.’ REALLY? Your procedure is to have the store HERE write down all my information and then fax it to you and have you charge it since the merchandise it at YOUR store… why would the store here charge my card!!! Couldn’t you have just checked your records on the charges that you had done? I know that would have taken awhile, but that would have been the most efficient way. Not to charge the customers card again. Good thing I check my stuff, because clearly you dont.

(This is the same review from the U. Village Store, just more stars for better service) I’ve been going to the Something Silver stores for a long time now, mainly the Bellevue Square one. In general they have all sorts of jewelry, and its kinda a good one stop shopping place. You’re not limited to just one brand(though they tend to just carry a few major ones), and you can buy cheap good quality earrings(I have $ 8 fake diamond studs in) or you can get moderately expensive items. It’s a good place to find gifts too. I’ve usually had really good service from them here. Never forced to buy anything, and they’ve always been willing to show me their items.
