I love that my son is learning to be a part of a band, he’s being exposed to varying genres of music and gets to perform fantastic shows at cool venues at the end of each season. His teachers over the past two years, namely Andrew and Woody, have helped him to become a better guitarist and performer. My son LOVES band practice! Rhiannon is also wonderful and helpful especially when it comes to scheduling!

This place is amazing! My 9 year old now listens to Pink Floyd all the time and its been great to be able to play fun rock songs together. Even more amazing was to see him on stage at The Triple Door performing a really professional version on Pink Floyd’s The Wall. My son has made lots of friends and the school has really taught him teamwork even more so than sports has. I’m really glad I got my son in for a trial because he loves it and its so fun to share music together.

I can never say anything bad when there is kids learning something cool as music and bunch of cool nice people teaching and playing music. They have concerts all over town and I am excited they are in town.

I’m really impressed by the people at the School of Rock. My son just had his fifth birthday and he’s been banging on toy bins(emptied of their toys, of course) with Tinkertoy sticks or whatever else he can find for the past three years. With no sign of the«drumming» abating, I went to the SoR to see about real drum lessons for Felix. We had an honest and friendly conversation about how most five-year olds are not mature enough to learn much from drum instruction yet… they come in, bang on the drums, have a fantastic time, and maybe they will remember the names of the drums and cymbals. He said that with that info, if we want to enroll Felix, he’s sure the drum instructor would be glad to have him and would do his best to help Felix have fun AND learn something… but don’t have high expectations. He suggested an awesome alternative that they offer just for preschoolers… their eight-week Little Wing program(awesome name, btw). Skilled preschool teachers walk the kids through an intro to music, an intro to guitars, an intro to the bass, making their own guitar, intro to the drum kit, making their own drum kit, intro to the keyboard, making their own keyboard, intro to voice, recording their voices, sound detectives(headphones), and band rehearsal. They have small class sizes and at $ 160 for 8 one-hour sessions, it’s a real bargain. I was so glad that they suggested this more age-appropriate program… he could have sold me a month of lessons for more $, and we would be less happy in the long run. Once Felix is old enough for proper drum lessons(age 7 — 8), if he’s still interested, we’ll be back at the School of Rock.

Enrolling our 12 year-old son at the School of Rock has been the absolute best decision we have ever made as parents, period. This program is off-the-chart amazing, and is so very much more than simply teaching kids how to play instruments. Of course the music is the heart of the program, and they will learn to play immediately, but that is the cherry on top of the sundae. The School of Rock, for our boy, is the center of his universe, quite literally the joy of his life. He has been a student there for the past year and has learned how to play bass and guitar, met great friends with the same interests, played many awesome shows around town, and has transformed before our eyes into a confidant performer. The teachers and staff are very professional, connect fantastically with the kids, and are great role models. It has been such a gift for us to watch our son learn how to rock, be inspired to work really hard, and most importantly, find his tribe. We could not be happier and more grateful to be a part of the School of Rock!

School of Rock is the place where my teenage daughter has made great friends, built a huge amount of self-esteem and, oh yeah, learned how to sing and perform like a total Rock Star! Having experienced other«schools» where our daughter learned vocal and instrumental skills, none of the others included the opportunity to form bonds with other performers and learn how to work cooperatively in a group… Apparently sporting teams aren’t the only place where this can happen! Run — don’t walk — to the School of Rock — where my daughter is planning to volunteer(just to be a part of it)…
