The clerk that worked the store gave me a really bad job a cleaning and conditioning my boots. My amber brown Irish Setter boots are stained black from whatever he used to clean them with. At first I thought they were wet from the conditioner, when I walked out the store, then I realized the color shades of black would not come off. Came back the next day, he told me it wasn’t boot oil but natural waterproof, he took some the black off the outter sole trim, and said to come back if I wasn’t satisfied still.

Don’t waste your time coming here. Just buy them on Amazon or directly from the Red Wing online store. 1. I only came here because it was the closest to Seattle proper. Unfortunately Red Wing doesn’t have a closer location, as they should. I wanted some boots ASAP because my old Thorogood’s were torn to shreds and I wanted to see how the equivalent Red Wing 875’s were. But location is terrible and traffic was bad. 2. When you’re spending $ 300 on a pair of shoes, you’d expect the store to be a little nicer than what was essentially a Payless Shoe Source. They probably are trying to appeal to the working man but it’s just… very plain. 3. I came in around 6 o’clock and there was one employee helping 4 other groups of people and the whole store was packed. 4. Worst thing was that I would have paid ~$ 60 more in store than I would have at Amazon. I love supporting brick and mortar stores but not when I have to drive 30 minutes one way through traffic, and 30 minutes back just to not buy a pair of shoes. I will be buying a pair of shoes, a horsehair brush, and some leather conditioner, all for less than what I would have bought them for at the shoe store. Only silver lining here was having some great Vietnamese food in the area(Yeh Yeh) and exploring Bellevue(made me realize I’m more of a city guy despite the perils of owning a car in Capitol Hill). Note: Red Wings are still amazing shoes. I am from Minnesota and have visited Red Wing many times so I support this brand. I just don’t support this store.

I was prepared to take my boot loyalty elsewhere, but because of Red Wing’s virtuous customer service, I expect to wear the name proudly for years to come. Last year I spent several months searching for an American– made work boot before settling on an 8″ 899 from Red Wing. The original saleswoman(in Boulder, CO) was especially friendly and helpful and left a positive impression. The boots were comfortable and worked well while they lasted, which was only a year and a half. By then, the heel stitching was coming apart, the tread on the soles was nearly worn away, and there was a hole in each toe. Now, I don’t know about you, but I expect a $ 250 boot to last a little longer than 18 months, especially when used for light carpentry– as opposed to concrete forming or even framing. So I began to grieve the reality that my long-sought-after American-made boots were not all they were cracked up to be. And I considered other companies that I might patronize, Filson and Danner being among them. But, as I had received good service in the past, I decided to bring my complaint and my worn out boots to the Bellevue location to see if they would give ear to my lament. They did that and much more. Without as much as a question, the salesman(Andrew, I believe) confirmed that the boots were defective and directed me to their selection of new boots. He assisted me as I tried on three pairs, settled on one, and ultimately checked out with a pair of boots that I am especially happy with– all at no out of pocket cost. I will wear my Pecos(American-made, 8″ slip-ons) with pride and comfort, hopefully for longer than a year and a half. But, if need be, I will be glad to return to the Bellevue location to purchase another pair of Red Wing boots.

We came in today 8⁄3 @ 6:30pm it was busy for the location with one employee helping out three parties total. He showed great customer service through this busy time and was very attentive and polite. He seemed knowledgeable about the product as well which is great! I will come back here in the future.

My father has been buying boots at this store for years. I got a pair here years back, but I don’t live in the area. Since the Lynwood store has closed, I made the drive from Everett and went into Bellevue store. Nothing but praises for this store and its management. The sales associate was friendly and helpful. I took in a pair of boots that has been giving me trouble, and went to buy some new boots. The manager(Mike) took a look at my current pair of boots while I was being fitted for a new paint of boots(6th pair of red wings). Not only did I walk out of their with my new pair of boots, they replaced my defective boots. I will be referring my friends and family to this store.

It’s too bad that a rude, disrespectful and angry man(Michael) who obviously hates his job, has to be the one to represent this store. Red Wing, in my opinion is a great product that is worth the extra money. But I can no longer go to this store due to the way I was treated today by Michael. *Unless you like being talked down to and treated like dirt, GOTOANYOTHERLOCATION — DONOTGOTOTHEBELLEVUESTORE!!! I did however convince my corporate office to let us buy our own boots and get reimbursed in the future after sharing my experience at Red Wing in Bellevue today. Good job Michael! That’s 22 less customer you will ever have to deal with! And again, sorry for breathing your air today, my bad…

This Red Wing shoe store is unusual in that they sell discontinued and discounted new shoes. It’s the only such store in Washington. The selection is usually limited to very few leftover sizes, so it’s like shopping at the Dollar Store or Goodwill: you have to look frequently. When they have your size in something you like, it’s a screamin’ deal, sometimes up to 60% off. I’ve gotten top of the line handmade shoes and boots through this process, so it’s worth the effort. I stick to the Red Wing brand: made in the U.S.A. and leave the Worx, Vasque, and other lines for others.

I walked in on a sleepy Sunday afternoon and I got excellent service. The guy walked me through how to get the best fit and all the perks that they offer like free replacement laces and leather care. I look forward to going back and picking up the boots I ordered.
