The good: Dr. Coday seems to be intelligent and somewhat helpful. The bad: Old building and ancient equipment. Desptie the fact I’ve had numerous serious issues, every appointment they just look at me through some old-fashioned scope. I was sure there had to be more effective methods, and sure enough whne I finally went elsewhere they had all kinds of scanning technology to reallhy find problems. I’ve been there well over 10 times this year, and never got to see the doctor without atleast waiting 30 – 40 minutes, sometimes far longer. This is also true for the 5 or so times I saw Dr. Boporai. I thought it was beause I went end of day but even if you go early in the morning, same problem. I also have had bad experiences wiht Dr. Boparai. I couldn’t help but feel he was designing my treatment plan just to maximize revisits. Also, he’s an optometirst, not an opthalmologist. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not coo lwhen I have severe issues that need an opthalmologist to try and play the part, and the receptionist staff should not suggest him as a replacement for Dr. Coday when she’s away. They did this to me and to numerous other patients which I overheard while spending lots of itme in the waiting room. He looked at me 5 consecutive appointment and told me I was fine except for an infection, then I saw an opthalmologist who immeidatley pointed otu a sudden and severe astigmatism.

No respect for your time. I had to wait over 30 minutes before I was seen by the doctor to only be rushed through the examination. They billed my insurance over 200 dollars and send me one for 150 for an eye exam. Stay away

I’ve used Dr. Barry at Overlake Eye Care for a couple of decades. He is an excellent optician, and even if running late, he will ensure that you receive the attention to detail that gives you an optimal outcome. Dr. Barry has never pushed a position, but will readily explain pros & cons of various options, helping you to make a decision that serves you best. You will never feel he is looking to the business’ interests instead of your own. I find the staff to be professional and business-like, and they have always been cordial to me. If you are looking for top quality eye care, this is a good place. I had my eye exam today, it included: dilation; glaucoma pressure test; peripheral vision; digital photos of each retina, which Dr Barry reviewed with me and compared to previous photos; finally Dr Barry double-checked the corrections established with the tech; discussed a few related topics regarding lenses; and we concluded. I suspect that the thoroughness of the exam and the doctor’s time is worth the money charged – I know that my eyes are. Not directly related to Overlake Eye Care, Dr Barry participates in Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, traveling overseas to deliver eye care in impoverished regions. In our own area, Overlake Eye Care participates in the Dept of Fish & Wildlife’s free vision test program for licensed hunters. Consistent with the reviewers’ guidelines I have no financial or social connections with the people at Overlake Eye Care. I believe their excellent treatment of me deserves an excellent review from me.

Dr. Barry is AMAZING. I’m 29 years old with a family history of detachments, cataracts and glaucoma, i went in there a couple of times with concerns and let me tell you, were they addressed or what. He took the time to explain everything that was going on and showed extreme care. He’s truly passionate about his job and you can tell. I was EXTREMELY happy with the service I received :)

A friend referred me here. I needed a new eye doctor because I was not that happy with my previous eye doctor. The 2 ladies that see you before Dr. Barry were amazing. They took the time doing the exams. I was not rushed. Then Dr. Barry was very knowledgeable and finished my eye exam. He prescribed me the correct power and I can read and see better. The office staff is also nice and professional.

After posting this review, Dr. Coday’s office contacted me and apologized for the office experience and told me the plastic surgeon referral was still there. If so, the contact information on the card was all incorrect. So I guess we can put that one on the plastic surgeon. Appreciate when a business tracks their social media and tries to remedy.

STAYCLEAR of this place!! Interesting enough, I stumbled upon buffy s’s review of this business today, and had to laugh as I had the SAMEEXPERIENCE9 years ago. This office was close to my home so I took my two boys in as we all needed glasses. The woman helped each of us select a frame that was within the insurance limits. Not much else was discussed with the exception of when they would be available. 2 weeks later we picked them up and had them adjusted. I was never asked to sign a thing. I also did not receive a copy of the receipts. About a month or two later, I received a bill from them for over $ 300 stating that this was the portion the insurance wouldn’t cover. I was NEVER asked if I wanted the«extra» features they ordered on our behalf and was never asked to sign an agreement accepting responsibility for these ridiculous charges. They eventually sent the bill to a collection company and reported it to the credit bureaus.

I was receiving treatmeant with Dr. Coday. There are a couple of concerns I have. The first one is that I always had to wait 30 – 40 minutes before I get a treatmeant. That happed each time I came to an appointment. Also Dr. Conday does not seem to be good at returning calls and caring about patients. She took an eye swab and told me to call her back about the results. I was calling their office three days in a row. They kept telling me that Dr. Coday was busy and would return the call by the end of the day. The results were quite important for me and she knew that. Guess what? I had not receive any call back. I end up switching to another clinic.

Our family has been going to this clinic now for many years and what a great job they do to take care of their patients. Dr. Barry is a wonderful Doctor, who takes time to listen to you when you have an eye concern. The support staff is always friendly from the front desk to billing. If you have an immediate eye problem, they work hard to get you seen as quick as possible. They use state of the art equipment at the appointment which allows them to fully see the eye and anything that might need attention. I know that going to the eye doctor, may not be fun, but you will be in good hands at this clinic.

I love Overlake Eyecare! Our whole family has been going for about 6 or 7 years now. They are not only excellent and professional practitioners with great staff, but they are patient and thorough in their appointments with us. We are kind of medicine and science nerds and I always learn something about eye health from my visits.

A mill just like any number of other places I’ve tried and left. Dr. Barry was nice enough, when you finally get to see him(you’ll deal with at least three other people before you see him). Support staff aren’t what you’d call friendly, and reception can’t/doesn’t email for appointments. It’s also the kind of place that will keep you waiting 45 minutes past your appointment time with no explanation, details, or caring that YOU made it on time, but they AREN’T on time. So my quest for a good eye doctor whose staff is current, friendly and respectful is ongoing…

Dr. Barry is an outstanding optometrist. I have seen him a few times over the last few years and my daughter saw him on her last check up as well. His manners are very fun, professional and polite. He is extremely knowledgeable and will give you his honest recommendation based on the research that he does and as if it were his own eyes and not so much out to make a buck. The only complaint that I have is that some of the staff that does the preliminary tests were not so polite and if anything were a bit rude and sarcastic, at one point on my last visit I was tempted to request another assistant. The technology in the office is beyond what I have seen in other offers — in fact he even emailed me a picture of my eye… it’s pretty cool ;) There is also a glasses shop that is attached next door to his office that is convenient and they carry good variety of glasses in all price ranges. The spectacle staff were very nice as well. But I do love Dr. Barry, he’s worth the few other annoyances that are within the office.

Dr. Barry is EXCELLENT. Here’s why: As a long-time patient during the LASIK-boom, he was skeptical and cautioned patients about both the benefits AND drawbacks of the procedure. When I was interested in the procedure, he spent extra time informing me of why it was popular, what it entailed, and if I was a good candidate. As a contact-lens wearer, he even relayed his own skepticism about it, which was an interesting counterpoint to hear, outside of all the eye doctors pushing the procedure. As for listening to his patients, another gold star. After expressing my interest in a low-cost disposable contact lens, he recommended Acuvue Advance(from my current Acuvue 2), since he knew it was made out of a more breathable material and was not terribly more expensive than the Acuvue 2. I was pleased with the results and even more pleased with his ability to discuss the benefits without pushing a more expensive line of contact lens at me(which I’ve experienced at other optometrists). I highly recommend Dr. Barry as an optometrist that knows A LOT about eye care, the industry, and actually listens to his patients instead of his wallet(or bookkeeper)!

I recently changed to Dr. Mary Coday on the recommendation of another doctor after many, many years with the Eye Clinic of Bellevue.(I finally had it with the Eye Clinic’s long lead times for an appointment — generally six weeks — caused in part because all their doctors rotate around offices in at least three other locations.) I got an appointment with Dr. Coday within a week, had a very professional examination by technicians and Dr. Coday, had a follow-up call from Dr. Coday, and received my new contact lenses and glasses within a week to ten days thereafter. First class service. Highly recommended!
