We had the absolute worst experience here. We brought a larger party(10 total) here to have dinner and the main guy was a complete(fill in your own nasty word) to us. I have never been treated so horribly in my whole life. We were aware that we had 3 children and a baby with us so we were aware of sitting too close to other customers. This guy told us we could sit in the party room so we wouldn’t disturb anybody. Never even turned the lights on for us. We asked for a high chair to which he responded«we don’t have those»(they did and another waitress went and got one), did not bring kids menus so again the other waitress had to go get them. After being told they were out of the beer we ordered we waited for our drink so long that again the female waitress said«i can’t believe he wouldn’t bring this to you, I asked him to.» She explained«he just gets in these moods sometimes» It was absolutely awful! Not sure how the restaurant stays open with 3 tables, HORRIBLE service, and literally out of everything on the menu(no american cheese because it was frozen???)

If there was a 3.5, I would have given that. My husband took me to the Bierkeller Pub when I was visiting him in Ohio. As someone who speaks German, has been to Germany, and enjoys German culture, I feel I should note a couple of things: First, the staff is super friendly, prompt, and accommodating. Second, the ambiance is wonderful! The interior is very cozy, and features a wonderful fireplace with seating nearby. The décor is rustic and clean. Unfortunately, however, I must agree with others when it comes to the food. The kraut is pretty bad. Ok, it’s really bad. Portion sizes were on the smaller side given the price. The Sunday menu is EXTREMELY limited. Not many German options whatsoever. On a lighter note, the fried pickles were great! Excellent batter! I am curious to try other menu items and see how it goes.

Wow, what a great find in tiny Bellevue, Ohio! Nice atmosphere, sometimes with live music… Great beer selection, and wines… Food choices are very mixed, so don’t feel like you must have ‘German food’ to eat here! Had Chicken paprikash, and it was very different than what I am used to, but it was great… Plan to go back soon!

Sorry Bierkeller. I gave you so many chances but I am done. The beer selection and the ambience used to be appealing. But the pseudo-German German food/gets worse every visit. And the cost of the desserts for the tiny slice you serve? No way. You will still be one of my favorites for an afternoon of beers but just can’t take another bad meal. I will admit the Jäger burger is always good.

The best aspect of this restaurant is the ambience. There is a nice selection of beers, half of which are imports. The Spätzle are watered down and the sauces are rather bland. The Schnitzel isn’t true Schnitzel but rather pork loins, but they are very tender. The potato pancakes off the appetizer menu are delicious, served Rueben style with corned beef and German style Sauerkraut, which isn’t typical but very tasty.

TERRIBLE! I met my parents here as a halfway spot. The reviews were good, my husband & Dad love German food, so I thought I found a new gem… oh so wrong! I’ll list the pros first: Neat interiors, German steins, interesting beams, carved benches, cool wood burned bar with pictures of local attractions. Food: delicious pretzels, good beer, good beef stew Service: very nice wait staff CONS: FOODWASAWFUL! The sauerkraut was inedible, the corned beef and cabbage was disgusting, so vinegary!, the«green beans» were more accurately described as Green Sludge(I have never seen something so gross), chicken soup«broth» was watery with a slight yellow color. We hardly ate anything! Wasted over $ 100 on a terrible meal! If they got a decent cook, this place would be a neat destination. Disappointed

What a great find! Stumbled along this German pub and we are so glad to have found it. Great bar that features 28 beers on tap, I believe. The bartender, Matt is very cool! Got an appetizer, warm homemade pretzel with a side of cheese dipping sauce. I got the Perch sandwich with lemon and tartar sauce with a side order of German potato salad. The perch was fried perfectly in what seems to be panko bread crumbs and something else! Idk what but it was pefectly golden to only be panko bread crumbs. Anyway it was delicious and hit the spot! My husband ordered the chicken and spätzle with a side of saurkraut. Yumm! The spätzle and mushroom cream sauce was surprisingly not heavy and very tasty! The saurkraut was good but I’m used to my husbands grandparents making it. With that said, overall this place is awesome! I wish I could try more on the menu. I really enjoyed this place. Great food and friendly service. If you’re ever in the area give Bierkeller a try!

Came here for the France vs Germany world cup game with my mom, two of my sisters, my husband and our soon to be brother in law. We all ordered something different so we could try a lot of their menu. I had the remoulade, my husband had a pork and sauerkraut burger, my mom had another pork dish I can’t remember, my sisters both had cabbage rolls, and my brother in law had the wiener schnitzel. Everyone enjoyed the food. I loved the dish I ordered, the only thing I didn’t care for was the red cabbage side. My mom loved it, the taste just wasn’t for me. The pork on my dish was super tender, and the flavor was very different, but absolutely delicious. I also tried my moms dish, and the cabbage rolls my sisters ordered, both were also very good, but I was quite content with my food. We then ordered some dessert, we ordered two pieces of the Frankfurter cake and everyone had a taste. The cake was very moist and flavorful, it was just delicious. The atmosphere is lovely, the decorations were very interesting and beautiful. We all really enjoyed ourselves here, the food, the feel, and of course, Germany winning the game was just the cherry on top! Will definitely recommend this place!

Location is not the greatest, but then food is amazing. Great choices of beer on tap. Bartenders for the most part are on the ball when it’s packed it seems like they still only have one bartender. So it’s little hard to get a drink but over all great place and my favorite pub/bar

Stopped by while visiting Cedar Point. The décor is nice, the staff is friendly, but that’s where the fun stops. We had an appetizer, it was ok. I’ve been to Germany, this is not very authentic for German food, but that is based on what I got to eat of it. The mushroom gravy on my Schnitzel wasn’t very warm and a bit gelatinous to begin with and the noodles in my wife’s chicken spatzel were dry and cold. Then a storm came through,(not their fault) but after two bites or so of our meal we were shuffled into the bathroom to take cover in the dark. After the tornado passed we came back out with the power still off so we surveyed the damage outside. The owner was out running around the building looking at damage, no one cared if the customers were alright. We helped move some branches out of the parking lot and then I asked what I owed(we did have soft drinks and an appetizer). Low and behold, we were charged full price for the meal. I left very hungry and pretty mad. They put the kids burger in a box for him since he didn’t even get a bite, even though we declined boxes, how nice. Who wants to microwave their German food in a hotel microwave and try to slap it on a paper plate and eat it on a bed? That’s worth $ 50 plus dollars right? I think not. Based on this, I cannot recommend.

My husband and I visited on Saturday for dinner. Had heard good things from a few people. We’re seated quickly. Our waitress was prompt to our table, but did not greet us, just asked what we wanted to drink. Her iPad was not cooperating and she seemed quite distracted by this. When she returned to take our order, she did not ask if we wanted an appetizer. We ordered the sauerkraut balls for our appetizer, my husband ordered the jäger schnitzel, I ordered the evening’s special lobster with lemon orzo, which came with a salad. The kraut balls arrived quickly, there were 5 in the order. They were panko crusted and nicely crunchy, but that is about the only thing notable about them. Then before we had finished our second kraut ball, our dinners arrived?! We thought we had someone else’s dinners! My salad had not even been served. When we got the attention of our waitress, she wanted to know if I still wanted my salad, or if we wanted to send the dinners back. We decided to keep the dinners and just have the salad brought out. The jäger schnitzel was rather bland, the side of German potato salad was lacking in that sweet sour flavor I associate with the dish, the side if sauerkraut was tasty. My special consisted of lemon orzo pasta with the meat from two lobster claws, drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The sweetness of the balsamic lent an odd sweetness to the dish. The diced onions and peppers were crunchy, and the lobster meat, while nice in portion, were over cooked & chewy. Overall, not a great 1st impression. We may try again and get a sandwich. Note to management… dump the iPads. They seem to be a greater distraction to the waitstaff than a helpful tool.

I stopped in at the Bierkeller Pub while on my way to Put-in-Bay from Columbus. If you’re in or near Bellevue I strongly suggest that you stop by. I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience. The interior is a cross between a beer hall and a hunting lodge. Lots of wood, leather, old barrel chairs… They have a big banquet area attached to the facility, which was being prepared for a wedding, it appeared. I tried their Ruben, which met expectations. A sizable sandwich; Not spectacular, but certainly not bad. The waitress did her job well, but the food was a little slow, especially given that nobody else was really there. I am stretching my rating up to four stars because, for a pub, it was really pretty good.
