On 06/​24/​2014 Dane Thebeau signed a contract with us to remove an oak tree from a rental property in Saint Louis MO. It is now 01/​13/​2015 and the trunk of the tree has still no been removed as per the contract. We have tried to reach Mr. Thebeau by phone but his message machine says FULL. We have sent him e-​mails but get no response.
We paid him a $ 1500 deposit. Then he cried he could pay his help and we sent him another $ 1800. The original quote was #3300 to remove the total tree –to date he has only removed the branches and left a big mess in the yard. He removed our rear gate and fence, didn’t put them in the garage as we instructed and someone stole them. He received a citation from the police for blocking the ally with the branches. While removing the branches he did $ 1500 of damage to the house. In 30 years of owning rental houses he is the worst contractor, and we can not recommend his services to anyone. I don’t understand how he stays in business! He has lied to us, to the Better Business Beau and the people at Angie’s List! He has until the end of January to complete the job. If he completes the contract we will not sue him. If not he is in for a rude awaking — we will sue him for the cost of the fence and gate — the $ 1500 damage to the house — the cost to replace the neighbors fence that he damaged — The cost to have another contractor remove the trunk. Plus all other costs incurred, including attorney costs and court fees.
