The Bake Shoppe

Wow, where has this place been all my life? It has cost me at least 30 more minutes on the elliptical three times a week because their decadent goodness goes right to my backside!
I love a local, small bakery and when G&G Kneads closed, I was bummed. A neighbor told me about The Bake Shop and I ventured over one Sunday morning, yes Sunday. I was greeted by a friendly person who was patient as I browsed the goodies in wonderment while salivating like Pavlov’s dog.
I went with the pineapple upside down cake, sticky bun and a chocolate covered confection I will affectionately name chococrackalicious. It was chocolate cake with a dollop of german chocolate frosting covered with a fudgy chocolate ganache, not for the faint of heart!
Those sneaky bakers had me hooked and now every Sunday I’m trolling the bakery cases trying something new and everything, seriously, EVERYTHING has been amazing. They also have pizza rolls which are the best I’ve ever had, they have tons of pepperoni.

Delicious bakery. Very fresh — even later in the day the pastries were yummy. I ordered a birthday cake for my husband’s party and everyone was impressed — including us. Moving from a large East Coast city we haven’t found many places to rival what we’re used to as far as food but The Bake Shoppe got our vote and we’ll be going back.

Walked in not knowing what to expect, left not wanting to leave. Amazing and they have everything under the sun! Soooooo yummy (and the people are sweet too!) Cash only!

Donuts, Cake, Cheesecake, Bread, Etc! All Amazing! I Go Here At Least Once A Week! I’ve Been Going Here For Years! I Love That It’s Family Owed And Has Been Going For Years! I Love The Staff! All So Friendly Also Caring! My Favorite Place In Sumpter! Don’t Care About Gaining Weight It’s Worth It! Lol.

Super yummy! I’ve lived kind of close for 3 years but just made it in to try and everything was good! I wish the apple turnover had more apple but there are so many other things to try that I can easily get over that. I’ll be back to keep trying things to find my faves!

Someone from the bake shop brought doughnuts into Captain Nemo’s Romulus today. All I can say is OH MYGOSH! Thank you, and see you soon.

We are lucky enough to live down the street and after passing it a few times we stopped in one day after the Lower Huron Metropark.

We ordered a variety of donuts, cakes and pastries based on what each of us wanted and we all tasted each others… ALL AMAZING!

HOLY COW. WOW!
Tony drove by here on a whim and picked up some treats for me while I was working at home. The pineapple upside down cake was moist and tasty, along with the cinnamon/​pecan bun. It was so amazing, I couldn’t wait to try it again when my sweet tooth kicked in.
On Saturday, I made a trip out there in the early morning. They have TONS of options for being such a small storefront. The portion of the brownie they give you is ENORMOUS! Sadly, the pineapple upside down cake was dry this time– so not sure if I got a day-​old one or just a bad batch. I’m willing to give that a pass since everything else (the other items and the service) were great!

OK, out of place for sure for a bakery of this quality, and the doughnuts, the only thing we have had so far, are really good. Will go back for sure. Bardzo smaczne.

Put’s the yum in Yummy! Don’t even think about how many calories these tastey treats have. Just enjoy the little taste of what I’m sure will be in heaven!

I don’t have to drive 30 miles or so to get a Paczki from Hamtramck, MI anymore! It’s like having Hamtramck in Belleville. I bought some Paczkis from another local G &G, I guess they don’t know really what a Paczki really is. What they sold me was a jelly doughnut. A Paczki is so much more than a jelly doughnut. The Bake Shoppe gets it. Not just forPaczki’s, any thing else you want from a Bakery, they get it and there great!

This place defines «hole in the wall».
Go anyway! It’s literally across the street from one of the Lower Huron Metropark exits, and it’s lovely.
They have all kinds of stuff that I never even would have thought up and don’t really know how to define. My boyfriend loves their cake doughnuts. I had a paczki there last Fat Tuesday and it was amazing, and the line to get one was out the door! That doesn’t happen in the middle of nowhere Belleville unless it’s GOOD!
They have lemon bars, donuts, peanut butter tart things, macaroons, and all kinds of things that change each day… and none of it has ever been bad.
