I went here after receiving a coupon and because I was in the market for some upholstery fabric. I was pleased to see that they had a somewhat decent selection that was organized by color and selection, which I could peruse on my own. I do wish, however, that the lighting was a bit better. It was somewhat difficult to see in the back of the store in some areas. The staff was very helpful and patient in helping me determine whether I had enough of each(I am a newbie craftsy girl), and they gave me two suggestions for upholsterers in the area. One other complaint is that they have minimal parking and a sign suggests that you park in a lot more than a block away. If you are buying a large amount of fabric as I did, it can be a pain to schlep it AND there really isn’t a safe area to walk(no sidewalk). In sum, I did great a great deal on a ton of fabric. I may take the suggestion of other Unilocalers and try the Rahway location for my next visit.

This place was a surprise to me just like the other Unilocalers had mentioned. Had a co-worker not mention how great of a place this was, I would have probably never step foot in here. The curb appeal is probably the most sketchiest I’ve approached in a long time, but with that said the amount of people who visit and crowd their front door parking just goes to show how you’re never alone. This place is not the great in the summer as there is no A/C, but if you can stand that beading glistening sweat environment, and the sound of industrial electric fans, then by all means, the warehouse is your oyster. I will agree that the selection is pretty versatile and large, but there’s a reason why it’s called a fabric«outlet,» it’s definitely not the best in quality, nor best in selection in trends either.

This is one of those stores that if you didn’t know it was there, you’d never see it. It’s tucked into an actual warehouse, and it’s in a pretty sketchy area next to route 21. If it weren’t for the yellow OPEN banner hanging outside, you’d definitely think it was closed and/or not an actual store. But they have decent deals on remnants, and it’s fun digging around to see what kind of random stuff you can come up with. The section by the register is actually kind of part-dollar store. Overall, a decent destination for your next project.

I had to add my two cents to the reviewer who gave the heads up to the Fabric Warehouse at 970-C New Brunswick Ave in Rahway. I COMPLETELYAGREE. and a big thank you because her review and photo led me to make the trip and I’m so glad I did. The Rahway warehouse is a fabric lover’s dream. I recently was told about a 40% off sale of bolt fabric and ran down on a Sunday to fall in love with aisle after aisle of amazing choices. I found the stock very well organized by color — and then for instance all the silk choices were organized in a separate section. Easy to locate and view the selections. And the discount bins filled with yards of high quality fabrics for $ 10! Your head will spin with all the creations your imagination will take off with while you aret here. One of my best friends I discovered has all her suits made from the suiting fabrics available here. Talk about keeping a great find secret… My highest recommendation for fabrics.(Also I met some costume designers there on my visit who were purchasing the amazing faux fur fabrics. They too said the prices were the best.) Go and enjoy for yourself!

The prices aren’t quite as low as some similar places, but there more choices and the fabrics are easier to access. They have a decent selection of quilting fabrics, and some specialty fabrics. They have a large number of home decorating fabrics, but many of them are in very dated designs. They had no juvenile quilting fabrics, and few juvenile flannels. The location is a warehouse, and it is cold and damp, but the fabric is kept off the floor. They also have some cheap plastic toys and nicknacks, notions, and general dollar-store type junk. Service is next to non-existent, but what would you expect with those prices?

Love it here. I could not disagree more with Allison O. I have been coming here more than 10 years and have found the stock is always changing! There are excellent bargains, incredibly helpful staff and some very fine fabrics as well as bargain closeouts. All of my window treatments and even some of my wall coverings have come from here. I hate to give away the secret but this place is a find!

The lighting absolutely sucks, but the prices are good and they have a huge selection.

This place is an old warehouse packed to the gills with some really tacky fabrics, and some really bland, boring, run of the mill fabrics — all for very cheap. Every time I go there, I get jazzed up thinking I’m going to find something great for really cheap, but everything is just as crappy as I remember. I think most of their inventory has been sitting there for years, collecting dust. They have some really low quality notions and trims, but if I’m putting in the time to sew something, I’d rather have a higher quality zipper that’s not gonna break in a few weeks. The staff is basically non-existent. Getting fabric cut can take a while if there are a few other people with the same idea. I generally get really excited about fabrics, but this place depresses me.
